I think it is a 2005 BRX 500wt head w/ 4-10 cab.
I have used it for the past 2 years or so playing dozens of venues from small coffee shops to opening for national tours in large concert halls. Plenty of power, though I may add a 18" someday and probably add a larger head to supplement it. The mute switch and tuner out jack are very handy.

I play alt-rock plus some lighter worship stuff too. The head is very quiet with no feedback. Very tight sound overall. THe 4-10s are bright and punchy. Like I said above, I could see adding an 18" sub for real deep tones.

I've tossed this thing around quite a bit. The cooling fan guard is plastic and partially broken. Fortunately, the fan is plastic too, cause I would have cut my finger off a few times :)
No problems, can always rely on this unit.

Have not had to deal with customer support. Sure mailing it to Carvin would suck, but that is why there are plenty of local electronic repair guys in town. You just have to find a good guy to do the work.

Sure Carvin is somewhat of a bargain corner brand. I have a Carvin bass guitar and 2 amps and LOVE them! I will only play Carvin bass guitars and for the money, the amps cannot be beat. I HAVE played $3,000 Ampegs on stage and sure they are sweet. However, I only paid $1,000 for this. I will take a $1,000 Carvin over a $1,000 Ampeg any day. Someday, if I have plenty of money to blow, I may invest in Ampeg, but I'm a musician :) I don't have money!

I have the 500watt model. Has effects loop, direct xlr out, plenty of outs actually.

I would consider adding a 15" or two 12s for a fuller sound. The sound is very clean though. No hum or feedback.

I have used it about a year now. Never had any problems. Model is built very strong.

As with all Carvins one has to ship it in to have it serviced. That would suck if something went wrong, but like I said, never had any problems.

For the price, there is no better deal on a brand new amp of this size. It is very reliable and very user friendly. PLenty of options to build upon this setup.
Someday if I had twice as much money to spend, I would seriously look into Ampeg's comparable models. However, I am pleased with this purchase.

For $600.00 shipped to my door???
No way will you be able to find a better sound for anything near this price. Like I said, Ampeg's exact duplicate of this cab is 400 to 500 more, and not as good looking.
This cab will last you as long as you need, bring serious musical tone and cut through those damn Mesa Triples (I promise, my setup does!!)
What I Run:
Peavey Cirrus 4-String (Bass)
Line 6 Bass Pod XT Pro (Preamp)
Behringer EP2500 (Power Amp)
