The PB-100 can cover mostly any range of styles.Controls on the amp are easy to use and will adjust quickly to any room.I am playing a New Fender-P Bass through it and play in several bands ranging from mixed country to grunge. The compressor on the amp will keep the speaker in good shape while contributing to a punchy ,fat sound. It has all the latest features,Three pre-shape buttons,para-EQ for the mids, line in out, headphone, noise gate and a great quiet on feature.(no pop from the solid state when you apply power). The amp is full 100 Watts through a 15 in, 8^ speaker.it would have been nice to have a external out for another speaker, but I guess that would put a end to the full 100 watt through one 15in speaker.I dont push the amp to much because you dont have to and my settings are not extreme.I also own a old Carvin X-60 tube guitar amp(14 yrs old)and that always sounded great until it fried at practice this year.(I replaced it with a Marshall VS-100R,valvestate)

Sound Quality : 10

Reliability : 6
I would have to say that I was disappointed when it popped at a gig one nite and that was it.It wouldnt turn on again.Lucky I was in town and could run home to get a replacement head. The cab did well enough on its own with a separate 80 watt head.I would have to honestly say that I still wonder if its going to kick off one nite and I'll have to scramble for a replacment.

The amp was under warranty and Carvin fixed it at no charge.(just had to pay shipping to get it there($20.00).I received the amp back and three months later it was popping and buzzing at another gig.The warranty had expired.I then contacted Carvin via e-mail and their repair department said they would extend the warrenty since the amp had already been in for repair. They were great. Again,at no charge to me,just shipping one way.(another$20.00)

Overall Rating : 10
I would buy another Carvin Bass amp.Probably one of the bigger ones if I needed it.
