I got this Amp approximately 4 years ago with a fender Jazz Bass and this amp kicks. I found the tuner very useful, especially if you don't want to be heard, but want to tune. I haven't used the cd input yet. Also haven't used the Ext. Speaker. It has a distortion channel in addition to the clean, and the distortion sounded alright. I'm not a big fan of bass distortion, but i've used it in a gig.I can turn it up past half way, and the amp really comes to life. When you turn it up too much though, there is a small hiss, but not loud enough to be heard in an audience.

Sound Quality : 9
I use this amp with a Fender Jazz Bass and A Yamaha RBX-170 and the amp really has good sound. I play Rock and Jazz and this amp works for both.
This amp cranks at high volumes, and i bet it cranks even more with another cab. This amp really makes pop slap sound good, not as loud as i would want. When you crank it up past 3/4, it gets distorted also.

Reliability : 10
I have used this Amp for four years and has never failed me. I've played in a few gigs with this and it is super reliable. My Cats ripped up the carpet, but that didn't affect sound.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't had to deal with them

I've been playing bass for 5 years, and this is super reliable. If someone stole it, i probably would get upset, but i would buy something with more power. it's a good practice amp, and cuts it for small gigs. I like the tone, i just wish it had a better speaker and more wattage.

Very good amp for a present with a Fender Bass!

New Crate BT25. Bought it for home practice, all styles. 2 channels with channel switching. Clean and Distortion. Headphone jack and CD player input. Built in tuner.

Sound Quality : 10
Using with several different active basses. Delivers many different sounds and tones. Clean and distortion sounds can be blended with footswitch. Surprising volume for such a little piece. Really cranks and sounds better the louder you go. Noise gate feature is nice and not too intrusive.

Reliability : 9
Dependability unknown. It is fairly new. But I can tell you I dropped it from shoulder height in my garage while unloading it and ZERO results. Not a scratch or ding. Very impressive construction.

No customer support needed yet.

I have been playing for 30 years and this little amp is impressing me a lot. I will definitely look at other Crate products for my home studio and live rig.

2006 model. 1x10 combo amp. 25 watts. Enough features for an amp under $200. Has 2 channels, clean and distortion. Clean channel has level, low, low mid, high mid and high controls. Distortion channel has gain, shape(which acts as the overall eq) and level controls. Channels are switched by pressing a button or an optional footswitch. It also has a master volume and and a octave control for both channels. The octave effect works by creating a second signal which is 1 octave lower than the imput signal, making the amp sound bigger. However, if you turn it up too much it has this worbling effect that don't sound too good. Other than that, it works as advertised. It also comes with a built in tuner(which is very handy),cd imput, headphone jack, external speaker imput, steel grill and carpet covered. What I wish it had is a direct line out and a tilt back feature. I bought this amp for lower volume jams and portability so I don't have to lug my Fender Bassman 250w combo when high volume isn't needed. It is also pretty loud for a 25 watt combo and doesn't sound terrible either at high volumes. On the other hand, It is somewhat heavy, 37 lbs.

Sound Quality : 8
For an amp in this price range, it sounds pretty good. A better speaker and it would sound alot better. It has a good punchy deep sound. I play rock and blues and use passive basses, a Rickenbacker 4003, Fender Mustang and a Fender P, and they all sound good through this. Crate did a better job this time around with their latest line of bass amps while keeping the price down. I can't comment on the distortion channel because I don't use it. Like I said, not the best quality speaker(pretty much all amps in this price range don't). But for the price, I like it.

Only had it for 1 month now. It comes with a 5 year transferable warranty.

Never dealt with them

A nice, portable, loud, good sounding bass amp for under $200. Yes there are better sounding and louder 1x10 combos out there, but your going to pay alot more too. If your on a budget looking for an amp for practice, rehersal or low volume jams, this amp is pretty decent.

I think this is a pretty new model. It is crazy versatile and has a chart built around the handle to advise you how to set for different sounds. It has TWO channels. I love the distortion. It has a BUILT IN tuner on the top. Tuner rules, easy and automatically senses what string. Octaver makes this amp roar like a lion and shake walls. Has out line, headphone jack. Solid state. Monster steel grill over speaker- wow. This thing might have a small child inside, it is 18x18x12, it's big and 37 pounds. Something this heavy could have wheels. I do wish it had those prop things you put under the amp to make it project up and out.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Washburn XB100 Bantam Bass with P-bass pickup. It is a very quiet amp, it has a limiter in case you get too crazy popping and slapping to prevent you from destroying it. The limiter is not loud but you can definitely tell when it grabs the reigns from you.
It must have 8 different sound patterns it tells you how to get and like I mentioned before, the Octaver control is almost like a steroid for an amp, it makes it sound HUGE.
Distortion is really good, it will ring a note that high "feedback" type sound if you are picking or a growly distortion if you are just thumping notes. I find it sounds like Black Sabbath, kind of an old distortion growl style.

Reliability : 10
Made in USA, and solid as a ROCK. I would gig with no backup in a heartbeat. I never even bought the extended warranty I have so much faith in Crate products.

Customer Support : 9
I've ordered manuals from Crate in the past and they've been quick and professional. Not the cheapest but good.

I just started on bass, I've been playing guitar for 20 broken years. I would buy this amp over and over. I'd have to hunt down the thief that stole it, zip-tie his head to the huge metal speaker grill and crank this bad boy up and punish him until his eardrums rupture. I compared it to the Fender Rumble 15 but the price and recommendation was just too good to pass up.
