No lnformation on amp pertaining to manf. date. Flat face;input, Bass, Mid, and Treble controls, Ext. Speaker jack, Phones jack, red "on" light, switch. 8" speaker. Obviously, a tranny; in more ways than one, read on. Enclosure dimensions 13" tall, 12" wide, 6"deep. No experience with bass amps. just guitar amps, so I guess a rating of 5 says it amplifies low tones well but it's headroom and dynamic responsiveness is what I aim to review here; with a lowly Digitech RP50 and a decent guitar, you can have a home recording pre- amp set up, or run the Phone Jack to the Receive jack on another louder amp for playing publically, or into mikes.

As stated above, this review is to comment on the other than bass amplification uses possible with this little gem. The "little voice" thing occured while pawn shop prowling for gear when I saw her. I plugged a Schecter with humbuckers in and stummed Em. Whoa. What tone; tweeking showed pretty wide eq range and richness, all that was missing was effects. $40 out-the -door and next the RP50 was in the loop with an ancient Washburn O.S. Les Paul (all mahogany nice flame top heritage cherry) loaded with Dimarzio DP104 (from mid-'80's). EQ contols on the amp are superb for the guitar curve and seem TME to warm up a usually sterile (sometimes gritty) digital reverb and modulation effects in the RP50. VERY "tubey"; love it. Using as a pre-amp w/RP50 in front, I went from Phones to Receive loop on a 50 watt Marshall 5120 running 3 Celestion 12"ers. I have since stopped looking for amps; this set-up gives me balls and bells, roar and tinkle. This little addition has made THE difference; I've played through Marshalls, Fenders, Hohners,Peaveys, Barcus Berry, Squiers,, etc., etc. and this little beast sends it to "11".

For the sort of application I've outlined above, this little bugger is the heart of my rig; the EQ and gain boost it can provide is awesome and the stereo phone jack gives you A/B capability. These things are cheap, FIND ONE! Or some other little bass amp to experiment with.
