I bought an EBS Classic 450 about 2 months ago. It looks like Rock'n'Roll - it sounds like Rock'n'Roll. The EQ-Section offers Bass, semiparametric low mid, semi-parametric hi-mid and treble. It offers tweakability but is not THAT effective. The Mid-section, however is very helpful in boosting the character of your instrument.

The Overdrive sounds very nice, EBS advertises a Volume-compensation function. And while it does actually work until about 12:00, everything higher will result in significant volume-increase. It's really worth it though, the Overdrive is very musical, the sound doesn't loose punch and definition.

The 400W@4Ohm are very believable, i don't think i'll ever run out of headroom on this amp.

The amp has a characterswitch which scoops the mids and boost treble and bass. I suposse it makes for a nice slap sound, i don't slap, so i can't really comment on this one.

It's slightly more versatile as an SVT, but i can't really picture this amp in a Fusion of BeBop group.

Sound Quality : 10
I play the amp using a Jazz Fretless and a Precision Bass. The Amp projects the characters of each bass, the EQ Mid-section really helps to add more growl to the Jazz and definition to the Precision.

As said before, Rock and similar styles are what this amp was made for, and is what it does best.

The Overdrive is really creamy and dynamic. The low frequencies are not effected by it and therefore there's no loss in punch.

Reliability : No Opinion
No Issues yet, and it's hard to tell after only too months. Build-quality is excellent, everything feels sturdy and durable, no rattling or anthiny, the casing protects the amp well.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for almost 10 years now, the EBS is the third head i've owned.

When i was in the market for a new amp, i narrowed it down to either a Markbass LittleMark2(for it's portability) and the EBS. A side-by-side comparison sealed the deal. The EBS sounds so much fatter and fuller that i disregarded the weight and size (which are it's downsides).

At this moment i'm very satisfied with the amp. Nothing i'd change about it.
