2006 Model 112 combo with the optional 390 amp (this is recommended by Eden for anyone planning to run more than one extension cab). I love the front end of the Eden SS design; a simple eq with just what I need and that I can nearly leave flat, a useable yet simple compressor, and boost switches that are very useful at low volumes. I use the low boost at smaller shows to get a low end in my tone that I would normally have to play much louder to get. There's also a handy-dandy kickback foot to use when this is my stage monitor and I'm sending a signal to the house. Only a 9 because easier removal of the head would be nice so I don't have to take the whole combo as a front end for recording.

Sound Quality : 10
I've played pretty much every make of bass gear you can name, and for my money Eden just nails it. There are other good brands out there and I'll not badmouth them, but this is just how bass should sound to me. I play my combo with a second 112 as an extension and it kills. The 112 is voiced very aggressively in the mids and cuts through the mix like a knife. The second 112 couples up with all the ports on the same side and it sounds like there are three of them. Given the remaining headroom in the 390 amp, I could add two more of these if I wanted, but I never take master volume past 10:00, so why would I?

Reliability : 10
Never broke, never had a problem. This also goes for an Eden Metro and several other Eden cabs I've had over the years.

Never had to deal with them. I would be pretty comfortable doing so because I have a great dealer (Bass NW) and Eden is very accessible through their great user forum. I can't rate a 10 only because I can't speak from personal experience.

Overall Rating : 10
Best amp I've ever had. Even with the extension cab, I can get the whole rig to the car in one trip. It's small and modular and sounds much bigger than it is. It cost some bucks, but was well worth it.

DC112xlt combo with WT 390 head. A lot of power that I did'nt expect from this baby.Ideal for club gigs.
I wish it had a footswitchable EQ and Warm section.

The head is removable but it is rather not very easy..i wish It could be less problematic.

It's to heavy to go to a gig by bus :( i'm waitng till Eden start to make this baby with neodymium speakers :)

Sound Quality : 10

Bought from Bass Northwest on a special sale in September 2005.

This is Eden's 1x12 combo, the DC112XLT. Basically it mates the D112XLT cab with the Time Traveler head, either the WT-330 (standard) or the WT-390 (higher power, optional). Mine has the WT-390, which actually now has the same specs as the WT-405 head according to a contact at Eden. This means that it puts out 230 / 405 / 655 watts at 8 ohms, 4 ohms and 2 ohms respectively. I also have a D112XLT cab, and this makes a fantastic small stack with the 405 watts into the 2 12" speakers. If necessary, I will add a third D112XLT cab, which will bring the load down to 2.67 ohms, and the power up to 550 watts. For my type of playing, I doubt that will be necessary, but who knows?

One neat thing about Eden is that they rate their amps very conservatively, leaving 3db of headroom. In other words, this 405 watts could be as loud as some other brands much higher advertised power ratings. Also, Eden cabs are very efficient, with a sensitivity rating of 103DB spl, which also adds to the useable volume. In other words, this amp has tons of headroom.

I play fretless exclusively, in a variety of styles, from blues to jazz to folk to country / alt-country, etc. The amp handles it all.

Other features include a compressor, a Warm circuit (mild tube emulation using a high quality chip), an Enhance knob (scoops the mids) bass and treble boost buttons to compensate for loss in those areas during low-volume playing, simplified eq (bass / treble / mid, with a couple of switchable mid settings), speaker mute, and a foot to angle the amp up for better monitoring. I wish it had a knob to control the Warm circuit, instead of a trim that has to be adjusted using a small screwdriver, and I wish that the Warm was footswitchable.

I play fretless exclusively, usually my Roscoe LG3005 5 string also reviewed here on Harmony Central. I used my DC112XLT live for the first time on Sunday, 9/11/2005. It was a great show with an amazing fingerstyle guitarist, Peter Spencer. He plays an eclectic mix of stuff, from acoustic blues to standards to rock to folk to ragtime. It's demanding stuff, in the sense that it's very diverse, with lots of changes ... I really love it.

It was in a small hall, with about 50 - 60 in attendance for the concert. Peter was playing his Martin acoustic with just a bit of added presence from a small Marshall combo, and I was playing my Roscoe LG3005 fretless into the DC112XLT, angled up with that cute little foot. I set the tone controls flat, with not much Enhance (I tend not to like the Enhance with fretless, especially with the Thomastik flatwounds I use, as it scoops the mids too much for my taste), and switched on the warm. It was simply amazing, deep rich tone for days. I could move my right hand up to the neck and sound like an upright, or pluck near the bridge for a Jaco-ish tone. There were a couple of professional soundmen in the audience, and they raved about the bass sound afterwards. I couldn't ask for more.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've only had the amp for a few weeks, so can't really comment on this. I am using it on gigs without backup. I keep a direct box in my gig bag, and if an amp breaks down, I would generaly just use it to go direct into the PA.

I've never had to have anything repaired by Eden, but I've had good luck with calls for help and information, even since they were bought by US Music. The Eden crew are still around, and the US Music telephone reps are very good about referring things straight to them if they're beyond the simple questions first-line phone support people can handle. Eden also has a great user forum linked on their website, which is frequented by a couple of Eden employees.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 20 years. If this were stolen, I'd most likely replace it with the same combo, although I doubt I'd find as good a deal (I got very lucky on this one ... $799 new was an absolute steal). I love the tone and the power. I compared Ampeg, EBS, and Ashdown heads, and also Bergantino cabinets, before buying my first Eden rig. This is my second Eden rig, and I love it, and the company. I chose Eden because of the versatility, simplicity, the power, and most importantly, the killer tone.
