I love the features,Use it at our church,Will cover anything you want to do.Has plenty of power w/o an ext.cab.I love the dual pre-amp switching.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound quality is top notch!!I'm using an Ibanez BTB-5,A Fender Heartfield-5,And a custom-4.They all sound great thru it.You can cover any style of music with this one. This amp has plenty of headroom. As far as distortion,I've never tried to overdrive it.

Reliability : 2
This is where the problems start!!2 weeks after buying this amp I was playing at church,The amp started a high pitched scream and white smoke coming out.I contacted Eden by e-mail,They directed me to an Eden authorized service center,They had it for 2 months.I finally got it back,It's dying again!!I've never pushed this amp!! I run it at half power..Buy 2 so you'll have a backup!!

Customer Support : 1
Customer support? You're pretty much HAD!! Now they want me to send it back to the factory!!We paid $1500. for this amp and can't use it!!I wanted it to be replaced,Eden says they want to check it out,Well it was already in one of their service centers for 2 months!!!They did pay for the repairs under the 2 year warranty,You'll need every bit of that warranty!!

Overall Rating : 1
I've been playing bass for 20yrs. I've had and used tons of bass gear.If this amp was stolen,I'd buy something else.Love the sound, hate the reliability and customer service,To Eden's customer service,Musicians have to make money,Keep appointments, and be reliable,We don't like spending our money on amps we can't use!!

Made in 1999. Two channels - one solid state and one with a tube pre. Semi-parametric EQ. Lots of clean power for most small to medium club gigs and a great DI to the house if needed for larger venues. Although you can get a lot more power by adding an 8 ohm extension cab, you should really be using the DI out if your room is that large. I have never had any musician sharing the stage tell me that they could not hear me at regular stage volume with just the combo and no extension cab.

Sound Quality : 10
This is the best sounding bass amp I have owned - and I've owned a lot!! Yamaha B100; Musicman HD150/RH115; GK 800RB/Hartke 410; SWR 350 red face, 400s, 900 and Mo'Bass with 2 Goliath 4-10's; GK 1001RB and 2001RB with RBH cabs. In the end, the Eden is the most musical amp with the best compression. The sound is balanced across the strings and up and down the neck. Versatile for blues, jazz, pop, R&B and funk. The only thing it won't do well is that overdriven tube sound you get from an Ampeg SVT. But, if that's your kind of music, you probably should be buying an Ampeg.

Reliability : 9
I bought this one used and in fairly good shape. I have gigged with it for about three years now. Only problem was a drop in volume on the tube channel that occured at one rehearsal. I just switched to the solid state channel, re-set the EQ and kept on playing. I took the amp to my tech for service and one week later -after a new pre-amp tube - it was as good as new. Is it too much to expect that you may have to replace a tube on a 6 year old amp? I don't think so.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Mine was already out of warranty when I bought it. So, I have never had to rely on EDEN for customer support. Luckily, my tech was already EDEN certified. So, the repair took no time at all.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing bass for 26 years. Bottom line -- I sound better through this amp than through any other amp I ever played. That's why I bought it and that's why its the only amp I own.
If I have to spend $100 every couple of years to properly service this amp, its worth it to me. If you play blues, jazz, pop, R&B or funk, this is a quality piece of gear that will serve you well.

Was made in 97. 2 channels . one solid state, one with a tube pre. Great EQ section, foot switch for channel switching. About 600 watts at a 2 ohm load. Not bad. I use it for many stles and situations, including upright Basses.

Sound Quality : 9
This little combo has a great sound, and I play many styles. Clean and loud. I do have an issue when playing loud with a 5 string it will fart out,but add a extension cab and it will handle it fine. The 2 channels make it very versatile, I have used both electric and acoustic basses on a gig. I setup the solid state channel for the upright and the 2nd channel for the electric.

Reliability : 9
I've drug this combo around for 9 years and has never failed me, and I have never done anything to it. No service etc...I did have the footswitch go out fairly quick, but the amp does have the channel switching on the front panel so not a big deal.

Customer Support : 8
I did call about the footswitch and did not get that much help, but they where very helpful with another amp so it washes.

Overall Rating : 9
I love this combo. I tried almost all brand of combos and I just happened to see this and gave it a try. I never heard of Eden but my friend and I agreed this was way better than what we had been trying out. Although a little pricy I can't complain. The only drawback to me is the weight. 80 lbs. Back problems. So it is a little awkward now and then but it does have casters. If it were stolen I most likely would not replace it, only because I have duplicated this combo with a more modular setup, a Eden WT550 head and a 210XLT cab, but I would cry. I still use it now and then.

Just the right amount of EQ options to find what you like and the enhance knob works great for varying tone based on different venue room sounds.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a 72 fender jazz with fralin pickups, warwick streamer LX 5, and fretless jazz bass. All sound great. You really can dial in whatever you want out of this thing and all the sounds are warm. I use the combo alone on small gigs and add another 8ohm Eden 2X10 for the big stuff

Reliability : 10
I have had mine for 5 years now with no problems whatsoever.

here's my opinion on why this thing is getting low marks in the "reliability" category: People see that they can get a portable, "600" watt, boutique combo for around $1600 new and rush out and get it. Then they find out that it is around 375 watts set up with the 8ohm 2X10 that it comes with but try to push it like a 600 watt combo anyway. This is a big, great sounding, combo that you would use like any other small combo except that it is bigger, heavier, and better sounding that your typical SWR or GK combos. If you want to be gene simmons, get an ampeg SVT for christ's sake

Purchased used from the guitar center in Queens in '99. At teh time its features were over my head, but having owned it for five years, I am glad that I pulled out the old credit card for it. (took about that long to pay it off, too!) What people are calling the 'enhanced' channel on here is the one that makes use of the tube pre-amp. Great warm and subtle overdrive is just a twist of the gain knob away. This channel has an amazing (semi-?)parametric EQ that is almost too powerful-- the amp sounds best with these tone controls at noon. EQ has Bass, low, Mid, high, Treble. The Bass and Treble do not have a parametric knob above them. There is an enhance knob that you pull for compression defeat. ull the gain for a -12 Db. pad. I believe that the other, foot switchable, channel runs though a solid state pre-amp, affording a solid-state sound and an alternate setup for your other axe. On my model, you can drive two extension cabs-- or three if you wish to unplug the combo's own 2*10 for whatever reason. Tuner out, tweeter attenuator for the horn, headphone jack, effects loop, etc. The "speaker off" rocker does not turn off the extension cab. (I have another Eden 2*10) Assuming your'e willing to add on ext cabs, this amp is as powerful as you will ever need: if you are ever in so big a venue that you need more, your sound man will want to take a signal from the XLR balanced output in the back and run it though the house system. This amp is a backbreaker. I use it at home with my passive/active P/J, but I just can't bring it out with me to amplify my upright with my jazz quintet. The rating I give here assumes that the fact that a powerful combo is naturally heavy and unweildy.

Sound Quality : 9
I use an 81 Ibanez-a-la-Sting Roadstar. Classic rock, Jam-band funk, and a little Jazz. I sometimes go from fingerstyle to slap sometimes without touching the eq-- the eden seems well voiced for each at the get go. Tweaking options, however are numerous. This amp is all about variety of tone. It is very musical, though. Tweaking the eq does not take away the singing quality of thte amp-- it doesn't sound processed or modelled like some amps. My amp has a slight hiss to it. I chalk this up to its "8" condition at the time of purchase, but it may be just a part of the design. The 2 tens put out plenty of bass, huge amounts if you pump up the bass or low in the EQ. Adding the extension cab, however, opened up the tone and made the tone more three dimensional and rich. Had i never bought the ext cab, though, I never would have missed it.

Reliability : 7
At the time of purchase, I was informed that one of the two inputs was non-functional, making channel one only accessible through switching, allowing me to only have one instrument hooked up, rather than two. Also at time of purchase, there was the hiss and the slightest scratchiness in the master volume pot. I have had it and used it at home for five years, and it has gone though one major state to state move, with no further degrading of performance or function. Since its previous owner managed to do some damage, and I have not really gigged it, I would give the amp a C in reliability.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I have gotten my money's worth out of this amp, and do not forsee ever needing another for home full band rehearsal and solo practice. As far as gigging, I will be able to use this until I'm old enough to need something easier on my back. Were this amp stolen or lost, I would replace with Eden gear, but probably with a seprate head and cabinet, or witha lightweight combo like SWR's baby blue or Eden's CXC with the ten in it.

This is a 2004 David Eden DC210XLT Metro 2x10 Combo amp. I play Classic Rock and Bluez. I have also loaned this to the bass player in a country band I play in and it filled that role perfectly as well. This amp has two foot switchable channels, a total solid state and a tube driven pre-amp channel. I mostly use the tube side. I have never used the effects loop. The back panel D.I. is simply awesome. I have used it for recording (the speaker can be turned off via a front panel switch...very cool)and live. I don't know who designed this piece of the amp but it is great! This amp has plenty of power and lots of headroom.

Sound Quality : 10
I have used both Jazz and P-style basses with this amp. Both sound great. I do a lot of Classic Rock, Bluez and some Country. Super sound for all the styles. I don't do the slappin' thing much (or well) but what I have pulled off sounds good. I imagine a good slapper would make this thing talk. It does have a variable level control for the horn. I normally leave it about half way. I normally leave the EQ settings at 12:00. A little tweak here and there but not much. Super sound right out of the box!

Reliability : 10
I have had this amp for over a year and haven't had one glitch. This is one solid peice of equipment.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had the opportunity or reason.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing since the late 60's and this is without a doubt the best the best combo amp I have ever played. If I were still young and dumb I'd still be playing my SVT & 8x10 rig. However, age and wisdom have taken over and moving the Metro around is a LOT easier and still has a super sound. Regardless of your playing style or choice of bass you will be very pleased with this amp.

I have had this 210xlt combo for less than a year being a 1994 model. it has the dual channels with footswitch. The amp has mondo power. Tone knobs are confusing (too many). I guess great for fine tuning but still overkill.

Sound Quality : 2
I have used it with a Marcus Miller jazz, a Ken Smith design 60's jazz, a Tune 5-string Bass Maniac, an early Alembic, & a Bulgarian upright. All basses do well on it. Each one requires different settings, hence the confusion. I have used an octaver and at medium volume, blew the speakers. The local repairman did some resoldering on some contact points which improved the power surges I experienced. He also replaced the speakers, all under warranty. Now I am using my gk 700rb head with my Eden 410xst cabinet instead. The combo sits at home unused. I expected more quality and durability for the $1900 I spent on it. Back to GK for me.

Reliability : 2
No I cannot depend on it since it died on a gig. Luckily it was at the end of the night with only two songs to go. Oh,another thing, when I picked my combo up from the repairs, the wheels all fell out broken. The housing for the removable wheels all broke off and all the plastic corner protectors were cracked or chipped. I've had them all replaced. Another musician here had the same problem brand new! Seems it came like that from the factory. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Customer Support : 2
Took awhile to get it fixed due to the repairman needed to register his repair shop with Eden first. Then the wait to order parts and to install them. 3 times in the shop. one for the soldering, two for the speakers, and 3 for the wheels and corners. I believe the warranty is for a year.

Overall Rating : 5
I've been playing for over 35 years. I also use a GK700RB 210 combo 4 nights a week. I feel the GK is priced right and is indestructible. The reason I bought the Eden was because I felt it was the pinnacle of power and reliability....I was wrong! It is far from it! It is extremely heavy (87 lbs). The speakers cannot handle the headroom. Perhaps an extra 210 would help but the again it defeats the purpose of a combo's portability. I think the Eden products are too pricey!!

Made in 1998, the sound of this amp immediately blew me away when I first heard this amp! I couldn't believe it was only 2x 10s cranking out all that sound! The enhance knob gave some beautiful tone boosts that were unequalled by anything else I had heard. For features it rates a 10. I felt that 2 10s were not enough sound, so I added a 410XLT cab which was overkill-too loud for gigs. I use a '98 Fender Vintage 62 RI jazz bass, and a '77 Music Man Stingtray for funk. These are perfect for this amp's tone for what I want.

Sound Quality : 10
This amp get every sound I wanted, with the exception of the Ampeg SVT which is another amp entirely. It gets the lows for Fender bass blues, or solid R&B, gets the "gank" slap tone for funk very easily-this one is quite cool, and every other tonal sound I could want.

Reliability : 2
I bought this amp brand new, and it blew the enhanced channel after two times of serious playing, at a volume setting of 3-4. This sucked! It was still under warranty, but was quite surprised at the cheapness of the workmanship, after I took the amp from the combo, and inspected it. I shipped it to Eden who found a "broken solder joint" (it sounded like a blown chip to me), and took 6 weeks to get it back, after I paid an expensive shipping fee (at least they paid the return!). I have heard this same type of story many times with this particular model.

Customer Support : 5
Eden was so-so. I didn't have any problems when I needed support, but neither did they go out of their way to offer anything extra in the way of customer service or support-just "Take it apart and send it to us" was the bottom line.

Overall Rating : 6
I will never buy a bass combo again. I still like the tones I get from Eden for the price. The 500 watt top was enough power, but I would recommend a seperate top with a 4x10 XLT cab for gigging. The 2x10 is not enough, and 6-10s are too uch for your average venue. If I had the bucks I would go with Aguilar, but Eden makes the best hybrid amps for the money IMO. If all I played was rock and or blues, I would go AMpeg SVT, but since I love funk and R&B, I am sticking with Eden.
Because of the poor worksmanship, I am giving this model a 6, in spite of its great tone.

I bought this combo in 1999. It has great features for tone shaping on one channel and 3 band EQ on the other. I think it has enough features to cover any type of use. The 2 X 10" speakers could not deliver enough loudness by themselves but by plugging in additional cabs, the output level got better. The 3 X 10"s are 8 ohms total so they don't pull nearly what the amp is capable of delivering. I think the power output at 2 ohms is around 600 watts but at 8 ohms its around 285 watts.

Sound Quality : 7
Sounds were very controllable but it needs additional speaker cabs for higher sound levels. The amp peaked before it was very loud. I think making the speakers 4 ohm would have made more sence with such a capable power amp sitting there waiting to pump more power.

Reliability : 2
It went downhill here. After just a few hours of use, the fan screws had come unscrewed and I had to replace some screws and nuts. They apparently were not tight when it left the factory. After being transported to about 5 gigs, it smoked and lights out. The toroid power transformer (the heaviest part of the power amp) had broken loose from it's one screw holding it in place and took out the preamp board, frying several power resistors amoung other things. Since it was still under warranty, I returned it to the dealer I had purchased it from. He removed the power amp from the cabinet and sent it to the Eden factory for repair. They kept it for about 2 months, during which time they did not answer my email or return my phone calls regarding the status of the repair. No class. I eventually got it back from my apologetic dealer in good working order. I opened the amp up before I took it in for repair and very dissapointed at the quality of the design. Very light weight and cheap. Not what I would expect from what I paid.
In addition, the input jacks loosened and when I tightened, the plastic was stripped out. Plastic input connectors on such a high end amp. Duh! The colored center covers of several knobs also fell off and were lost.
Overall not a robust build.
I will never by another Eden amp, though I think the speaker cabs are good.

Customer Support : 1
Eden did not return phone calls or answer emails. The dealer that I bought it from was great and very helpful but it was out of their control when they sent it to the Eden service center.

I have been playing rock and blues, guitar and bass for about 35 years. I own a Vox AC30 reissue and an Ampeg SVT4Pro at present and both amps are doing well. I use a 15" Classic Ampeg and an Eden 210XLT for the bass amp. I play a Telecaster, Ric 370 and a Hofner bass.

The amps features come in extremely useful if you use two basses live. Being a dual channel amp is perfect for this amplication. However the effects loop should have the capability to used for both channels at the same time, unfortunately there is no way to bridge the two channels. Both pre-amps are extremely good.

Sound Quality : 8
I use both a Musicman Stingray 5 and a Yamaha TRB5. I play a wide variety of styles in varying sizes of venues. As stated previously the amp can deliver a wide variety of sounds and the power output is per adequate when running off of 4 ohms. When using the combo as a stand alone unit, despite what some of the reviews have informed us, the speakers don't cut it.

Reliability : 2
Since getting this amp during April of this year I have had nothing but problems. First of all the fuse for the horn kept blowing and then the horn itself packed in. My local distributor would not supply another horn until I had returned the faulty unit!! Now I have more problems. The overall output of the amp has decreased. The compression funtion not longer operates and regardless of how you set up the amp the pre-amp is always overdriven causing distortion and speaker flap. When you pay the best part of #1500 for an amp you expect excellent quality, not in this case though.

Customer Support : 3
This amp comes with a lifetime warranty, or so I have been told. I purchased this amp from the only supplier in Britain (The Bass Centre). The store which I bought it from couldn't have cared less about the problems I have had. The London store were more helpful but as a giging musician who plays at least four times a week they are expecting me to rip the amp out of the combo and ship it down to them. No exchange in sight!!

Overall Rating : 5
I have been playing now for over 25 years in both a professional and semi-professional capacity. I have used Trace Elliot since about the mid 80's until now. I wish that I had never parted with the Trace equipment. I certainly would never consider buying another Eden product as long as there is a hole in my butt!!! Be carefull all you bass players out there. Never compromise your sound for the sake of portability, it's doesn't work!!
