This Amp was build in 1998. I play jazz and blues. Hybrid design, preamp tube and Mosfet transistors power amp. See others reviews for Features and description.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Awesome! The best of both worlds. Light weight and warm tube sound. I ever heard a sound so warm for a hybrid amp. I use passive P-bass and active European 5 strings Spector. The EQ is very versatile. I use custom made 1x15 and 2x10 cabs. The volume is very clear at high volume, great punch. The fan can be noisy at low volume. The DI is great. Every sound man like it.

Reliability : No Opinion
I perform some maintenance on the preamp section. Replacing the preamp tube and re-soldering bad connections in power supply section. I think every 11 year old equipments need some TLC.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Excellent. I got the schematic (Service Manual) of this amp free of charge from Eden customer support.

I play bass since 2002. If i lost this amp I'll buy the EDEN WT-400. I think the power is a notch too low for some large crowds. This amp is a great substitute to a full tube amp because you have a warm sound without weight and high maintenance cost for replacing powers tubes.

Got mine used...probably fourth or more in the ownership line. Heard so much about Eden amps that I was Jonesin' for one!

My main bass is a 78 Fender P-bass with EMGs, brass nut and rosewood fingerboard (heavy as Hell, but nice!)

My prior rig was a Peavey Mark III 300 watt head and 2x15 cabinet and it did a great job for pumpin' the siuthern rock stuff I was playing.

The WT 300 is a fine amp, I suppose, BUT....at the cost, I did not appreciate any significant orgasmic satisfaction or surprizes...it's just an amp, no better or worse than most.

I later scored a deal on a carvin BR 1200 (divorce thingy and the guy needed bucks) and run it through two 4x10 cabinets and occasionally biamp using an 18 bottom and 4x10s...the Carvin has it all!

Sorry but at almost four times the cost opf a very veritile BR 1200, I can dump the Eden.

My WT-300 was built in 98' or 99'. I have used this amp in every possible situation. It has been all over the country and has been used in small and large venues. It has been used in many recordings. I like the amount of features. It has everything that I have ever needed.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a 95' p-bass special with an emg split pickup and a basslines single-coil. The low end is the best I have heard out of a hybrid amp. The fan is pretty loud, but not unbearable.

Reliability : 10
It has never given me any problems in 9 years of use. However, I have taken excellent care of this amp. It has always been rack-mounted. I take the cover off once a year and blow all the dust out of it. If you take care of your equipment, it will take care of you.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed customer support.

Overall Rating : 10
It is the best amp I have ever owned.

My Eden WT-300 was made in '94 and I have kept it longer than any other head I've owned. Features 300Watts RMS @ 4ohms, effects loop, DI with adjustable send level, tuner out, stereo aux ins, quasiparametric EQ, headphones out.
My dislikes include a non-bypassable compressor/limiter and a lack of power(this has beeen corrected with the new WT-400). This is very versatile rig but I find it lacks the power needed for loud hard rock shows. I use this in every situation from jazz, rock, to to metal always with remarkable tonal results. However, the limiter light goes crazy with the input and output set at 12 o'clock and sometimes I think its gonna explode! I also wish it had a mute switch.

Right of the bat, there are few makes that can compete with the sound of this baby. I've owned a Hartke 3500, Trace Elliot RAH300GP12SMX, Mesa Boogie Walkabout and M-2000, Warwick Pro Fet IV to name a few but the Eden just sounds beautiful.
I have also used this in the studio with the DI straight to the board and yielded great results. Overall, this is the best bass sound you can buy. I play a Fender '78 Jazz bass through the traveler with 2 Eden 210T cabs(horns set at 3 0'clock). You should be able to dial up any tone your ears could ever want. Super bright and sharp to bassy and lumbering to sawlike mids, it's all here.

Reliability : 5
It broke up on me in front of 1500 people, 2 songs into our set and out came all this noise!!! Like every amp I have ever owned, it's only a matter of time before it will break down. All gear breaks, I know from experience. That was the only problem and it was cheap to fix.

Customer Support : 5
I ordered new tubes and they took a month and 1/2 to arrive. Also, they suck at returning emails.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing bass for 16 years and also have a home studio. This amp is unsurpassed in tonal quality but lacks in features, power, and reliability. Any piece of gear, if used often enough, is going to give you trouble. But the sound this little baby makes is well worth the agrivation of occasional malfunctions.

Made in 98.One in, aural enhancer, 5 band eq (3 quasi-parametric and 2 cut and boost for bass and treble), more outs than one could ever use, 300 watts 600 peak (bi-amp-able),and a tube pre.

Im using a p/mm style custom bass. Ash body with rock maple neck etc. It rests atop a 4X10 madison cab. I play mostly rock/metal though I do enjoy playin some progressive jazz and blues type stuff. (ie:pastorius, wooten, hamm etc...) The sound is amazing with clear, ringing sustain from the highs and enough lows and punch to make you sterile if youre not careful. I cant see how any one, with the quality of DI out and just overall power, could need any more power than the 300 watts unless your either a hog or your playing a MASSIVE stage. This amp, with 2 4x10's on either end of the stage, is PLENTY for anybody. If you wanna be anal about it the only complaint i can come up with is the low mids seem "chopped" but its probably my bass.

Reliability : No Opinion
Havent played a gig yet with it so im not sure but since its still pumpin after 5 years of mystery owners it must be damn good.

Customer Support : 10
WOW. I bought it used at guitar center with no manual so i obviously had some questions. I sent a very lengthy email to eden yesterday. I woke up this morning with a new message from them. Not only did they answer EVERY question and then some, but DAVID EDEN himself wrote it. If thats not support i dont know what is. Try doing that with SWR or Ampeg...

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for 3 or 4 years and this is by FAR the best amp ive played on. Comperable (if not better than) to the Mesa M-Pulse series, it is truly amazing. I cant wait to get on stage with it. If it was stolen, id curl up in the fetal position and cry like a baby. I would definatly, without a thought, by a new one. Its like having an old dog...never dies and its always right behind you.

made in '98 or '99. Versatile as they get, effects loop, all sorts of ins and outs, and TONS of POWER. The only think I wish it had is a mute function to compliment the tuner output.

Sound Quality : 10
Sounds spectacular, best bass amp for the money, hands down. Great punch, clarity, and EQ section (but I hardly ever EQ the thing at all). If you run a nice bass through this thing, you'll be rewarded handsomely. I've got a customr-made Warmoth bass with a Koa body/Ebony fretboard/Bartolini pickups and it is as full, rich, and round through the WT-300 as you could ever ask for. Almost every time I step off the stage after a show, a get compliments on my sound from the crowd, but more important the sound guys - and those guys hear everything.

Reliability : 8
I've gigged with this amp for over 3 years and it's performed very well. However, 2 or 3 times, a very loud exploding sound (like very loud pink noise) was output while turning the amp both on and off, but at no other time. I dropped a new 12AX7 in the preamp and it didn't happen again, but I cannot say for sure that the tube was the problem.

Never dealt with Eden directly, but met David Eden at a NAMM show a couple years ago and thanked him for making such a great sounding amp.

Overall Rating : 10
I'm a mulitinstrumentalist, so I need to have great sounding, ready-to-go, dependable gear for all my instruments (primarily bass and guitar). When it came time to buy a bass amp, I looked at all the other guys: Ampeg, SWR, etc. but was disappointed with what they put out (and I grew to absolutely hate the inherent tonal quality of every SWR amp out there). A friend introduced me to Eden bass amps and I never looked back. I'm a gear nut as well, constantly buying and selling, but this rig (with Eden 15"/tweeter cab) is staying for good.

An additional note: I don't care what the pro's play, but it's hard not to notice the frequency with which Eden amps pop up on stages and in studios...and believe me, there's definitely a reason for it!

This is a '92 or '93 WT-300. It puts out 300 watts RMS into 4 ohms, which is plenty for my needs. Although I mainly play fusion (poorly) and artsy hard rock (a la King Crimson, Primus, etc.), this amp has proven its mettle in quite a few punk/hardcore shows, which says a lot about its versatility; it is not without its drawbacks, though (see Reliability).

Although it says "twin triode tube preamplifier" on the faceplate, the WT-300 is very much a solid-state amp; the tube is merely a buffer and not a gain stage. (High inputs will overload it and cause distortion, but that requires a high-output bass and/or an external gain device.) From left to right, there is a gain control, an "enhancer" that cuts low midrange and boosts bass and treble (often referred to as the "SWR knob"), a shelving bass control, a three-band semi-parametric equalizer with bass, midrange, and treble knobs, a shelving treble control, a headphone output jack, and the master volume control. There is also a subtle built-in compressor; on the WT-300, it cannot be disabled, but the WT-400 and up allow you to pull the enhance control out to bypass the compressor.

On the rear panel, there is an XLR balanced output jack with ground lift and level controls, a serial effects loop, a tuner output jack (there is no tuner mute button or footswitch on this model, unlike on the higher-end WT-series amps), and a pair of 1/4" auxiliary input jacks for receiving line-level external signals. The power stage is very light for a class AB amp, allowing the amp to weigh in at a measly 13 pounds.

Sound Quality : 9
I am using a Dean Edge Custom 5 (alder body, 35"-scale 5-piece maple neck, wenge fingerboard) with EMG-HZ pickups, and the WT-300 is pushing a pair of Eden D-210T cabinets. This combination is supremely versatile; since I usually leave the tweeters dimed, slapping has a pleasing "clank" and there's a bit of edge to my light, Jaco-esque fingerstyle. When I grab a pick for faster numbers (a bout of tendinitis has dashed my hopes of being the next Steve Harris or Rocco Prestia), the sonic difference is readily apparent, which is something that cannot be said about an SWR or an all-tube Ampeg. With my speaker cabinets, the sound punches through the mix very well, but only if it's properly EQed (NO SCOOPED MIDRANGE!)

In terms of versatility, the Eden amps are just about unbeatable. The 3-band semi-parametric EQ is almost *too* powerful; I can pull an amazing number of sounds out of it, but I usually leave it flat, or add +6dB at 250Hz for more low-mid punch (I use the bridge pickup exclusively, for better response on the low B). Obviously, if you scoop the midrange and boost the bass, you won't hear yourself, but the same can be said for most amps.

There is a fair amount of noise on the amp--boosting high frequencies will produce a lot of hiss. I don't think the tube has ever been replaced, though, so that might be contributing to a lot of the noise.

Reliability : 6
This is a sticking point--this amp gets VERY hot when pushed hard, and I worry about the circuit board flexing. Now, obviously, it only gets pushed hard when various morons decide to crank the Enhance control, wonder why they can't hear themselves (don't get me started on smiley-face EQ curves...), and put the master volume at 7. However, this happens fairly often when I let other people use it (I live in a musicians' dormitory and people share gear all the time), so I baby it.

Customer Support : 7
Eden's customer support is all right, but very slow. A friend's band was using it to record their demo and wanted to use the DI; however, an immense amount of untraceable hum was coming out, so they ended up just miking a cabinet. I emailed Eden about this and they responded a week or so later (not too good) telling me that the DIs never break; my suspicion is that the "engineer" was running phantom power through the DI. Still, I'm not all that impressed with Eden's service, but I haven't called them yet.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for two years now; I'd wanted to play bass since I was 11 or so, but didn't get the chance until I was 16. I also own the aforementioned pair of D-210T cabinets, a Dean Edge Custom 5 bass, and a Boss AW-3 envelope filter pedal. I used to have an Ampeg SVT-III that was simply awful: it was noisy, non-intuitive (interactive passive EQs are the worst things ever), and produced far, far less power than its supposed 350 watts at 4 ohms.

I really like this amp, and I'd be mighty angry if it were stolen. The WT-300 is fairly common on the used market, though, so I'd just pocket my insurance money and pick another one up for $450-500.

I love the fact that this amp is so small (12"x12"x3.5", 13 pounds) and so versatile. I don't like the fact that it gets so hot when pushed hard, but I have a conscious policy of never turning the master volume above 5, since I like to have a lot of headroom for slapping and pickwork, so that won't be a big issue when *I* use it.

I was foolish in buying my Ampeg; I should have saved up more money for a WT-300 in the first place. I played through a local store's WT-400+ a number of times and was very impressed by it, and I was hooked on the Eden sound. Between the miniscule weight and the fabbo sound, how can anyone go wrong?

I wish the WT-300 had a footswitch that allowed bypassing the compressor and muting for tuner output, but those are hardly essential. The amp hasn't changed much since its early-'90s introduction, but that's all right--it's a classic of engineering and industrial design.
