The amp was made in late 2003. It has the tube pre amp in it which gives it the perfect bass sound that I have been looking for for over two years. Has the ability to give you just about any sound that you are looking for so there is no need for any other amp. The amp offers compression, bass, midrange and treble controls. Has croosover controls and stereo output. Has 600W @ 8ohms biamped and the 300W each side in stereo, more than enough power for where I play.

Sound Quality : 10
Currently I use Tobias pre Gibson Classic 5 & Signature 5 and a Ken Smith 5PE. The Tobiases have Bartolini soapbar style pickups and the Ken Smith have Ken Smith soapbar style pickups. I can get a wide range of sounds with this amp and the basses that I use. Primarily I play gospel and jazz music and it sounds great with both styles. Very clean and clear, without a doubt.

Just bout this amp about a month ago and havent had a problem with so far and I dont expect to have any based on the amps reputation. If there ever is a problem I have the ut most confindence that Eden will be around to fix any issues.

No need for me to contact them as of yet and probably wont for some time.

My roadrunner is a 1996 model. 5 band eq w/ 3 semiparametric bands. Very effective, even with little tweaks. Built in compressor, biamp, bridged. Headphone jack and DI. Line level pre and post eq line-level effects loops. Post has stereo returns. Tuner ouput.

The only features I don't use are the input pad and biamp mode. I would like to see a switch that would mute the signal to the amp and DI while still sending signal to the tuner output. No direct control over compressor parameters.

Sound Quality : 10
Used predominately with P and J inspired basses. Fretted 4 and 5 string, fretless 4, and even ABG. Coupled with the right cabinet, i've had great luck with this amp cutting through two 412 tube guitar half stacks in a loud metal band, or having a full warm bass sound in a piano/sax/drums jazz quartet. Never had distortion problems at high levels when bridged, nor problems with excessive fan noise and hum/hiss at lower volumes.

The eq is extremely powerful. First, the amp sounds fantastic with all eq controls zeroed. The enhance knob is not subtle, and can be all the "eq" you need. But for serious tone shaping, the 3 band parametric is awesome. Each click is about a 3 dB boost/cut, so it doesn't take much to change your sound from the recognizable "straight up" eden sound. A little boost or cut here and there can dial in a great sound more specific to a certain genre. Midrangey pick tones, scooped slaps, dub, its all in there. The high and low shelf are also useful, not only in getting a specific sound but for general tweaking of a rig to a room. The combination is more EQ flexibility than you possibly will ever need. If you can hear it in your head and play it on your bass, this amp will get that sound.

The compressor has no controls, but the parameters are well tuned for bass. Effectively, the preamp gain works with the fixed threshold. Its good for controlling transients, but the pararameters aren't friendly to use the built-in compressor as a leveling amp. Once you figure out what it does, dialing in the gain is quick.

The DI is also great. It is as good or better than many DI boxes you will come across, stage and studio. It makes a great recording output and definitely presents that eden tone.

Backup? We don't need no stinking backup. In 8 years, the amp has never failed me. The power section is protected well against operator error, and will shut down when things get too hot. Even playing in loud rock bands outdoors in the hot florida sun, i've never had the amp shut down.

I've never cleaned the pots or jacks, so a few pots are a bit crackly. Its a music amp, and its around smoke. They tend to self-clean after a few rotations. I've replaced the 12ax7 preamp tube once since i've had the amp. Its been due for a good factory cleaning for a few years now, but i'll probably continue to procrastinate until something bad happens.

Customer Support : 10
When i first bought the amp, my dealer was extremely helpful in making sure i understood the functions of the amp and how to properly use it. If i had a question, he'd call up his distributor (and supposedly david nordschow himself once or twice) and get the answers i wanted within short order.

I have spoken to customer service personally about obtaining a few upgrades on this amp. Mainly, the wt600 can be upgraded to wt800 specs, but more importantly my 9 year old amp can be upgraded to the current low noise standards. They were able to answer my questions on the topic. Haven't had any upgrades installed; perhaps when i get the amp factory cleaned.

Recently, eden launched a web board community. Eden users can share their experiences, but more importantly the board is a good way of getting an answer. The moderator even has a direct line to the man in charge. They won't send replacement parts to your house or a free tshirt every time you have a problem, but who does? If you are a current user or a future prospective edenite, i'd suggest dropping in to the boards as there are plenty of differing opinions.

Original warranty was 2 years from date of purchase. But, if i ever get around to getting the amp cleaned and checked out at the factory, i can activate an extended warranty for a fee. I don't think they care if the amp is 2 years or 20 years old, as long as it has a clean bill of health as determined at the physical.

So, dealer rating, 10. Factory authorized repair work? N/A. Amount of information able to be gleaned from the extended web board community, 10. Two 10s and an abstention

Overall Rating : 10
Eden amps might seem a bit pricey, but i've had this amp 8 years. Owned plenty of swr/ampeg/carvin/peavey stuff in the past, but i'd always come across something better. I'd never really heard of eden at the time, but after plugging in at the shop i was hooked within 5 notes. I've never been lacking in power or tone since. No brainer; i'd replace it in a second if lost or stolen. Perhaps with a wt800 or wt550, who knows. I don't like to think about it. The amp model may be continued, but is by no means obsolete. Soon, i can even bring it up to the current wt800B specifications. How timeless is that?

Great sounding EQ, power to spare, Biamp mode is fabulous sounding. An FX blend would be nice, but overall this amp wants for nothing.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a (very rare) Warwick stage II 6-string , with the amp powering a hartke 15 and 410 and when it worked properly it sounded incredible.

Reliability : 1
My WT-600 started generating nasty DC on the LF channel. I sent it to the UK distributor to get fixed, they had it for 2 months and returned it with the same fault. It has now been back with them for another month, with no date for it to be returned yet. This kind of situation is not good enough. At this price the amp is aimed at the pro market, and should certainly not take 3 months to get fixed. If you live in the UK do not buy an Eden product!!

Customer Support : 1
Returning a faulty amp, not good. Me having to chase the distributor up - even worse. The special projects guy sends quite a sympathetic email, but a nice email is no use to me. Sort it out!!!

Overall Rating : 1
When I get it back in a fit state to sell it's going straight on Ebay, and will be replaced with something more reliable, and SWR most likely. Sounds great, but thats no consolation when you have to use a Mackie mixer and a C-Audio PA amp every weekend for 3 months because of the service arrangements.

made in august 2003...speakon speaker outputs for stereo & mono mode...plenty of power...and a super e.q...what more could you want...

Sound Quality : 10
I use this with an old warwick streamer (neck thru) and a pedulla buzz bass playing everything from funk to jazz...i find with the e.q. set flat and the "enhance" set @ the 8:00 position this amp really just amplifies the sound of my instruments...which is exactly what i want an amp to do...

Reliability : No Opinion
seems dependable although i haven't had it long enough to rate...

Customer Support : No Opinion
i've heard only great things about their support...but haven't had to call or email myself...

Overall Rating : No Opinion
i have played swr for years ( sm 900, goliath 3 & sr., henry 8x8, 350 red face, etc)...and although i love their stuff, it seems that i was always turning knobs looking for a better sound...with the eden i have found it...if stolen i would call bass central up and have them send another one...

I recently bought this amp for a very good price. The amp was used only for commercial reasons, yet the dealer gave me the 2 full years of warranty and assured me that the amplifier was only a few months old. Before I bought this amp I played an Ampeg SVT 350H, but through my Bag End 4x10 inch the sound of the Ampeg was just too small. Furthermore I was amazed by the possibillities that this amp has. The amp is perfect for my sound. My band plays old school funk and I like the deep, yet direct sound this amp has. This amp has many options I yet have to find out, but at my first gig everything stayed on 12 o'clock and I was very happy with the sound.
I use this amp stereo with a 4x10 Bag End and a 2x12 Peavey cabinet. The sound is overwhelming. But be careful though: the tone knobs are very powerful. The sound CAN be completely different by just one small switch. THis amp has a lot of features and I haven't really figured them out. But I'm not sure if I ever will, because with all the tone switches in neutral, this amp is perfect.

Sound Quality : 10
I bought this amp recently and the same night I used it in a gig. I was astonished and completely in a trance. For the first time I had the sound I always wanted. People came to me after the gig and congratulated me with my performance and especially my sound. It's great for normal playing and it's great for slapping (especially the enhance-knob is perfect!).
For the first time I don't have the feeling that our guitarplayer (with his Mesa Boogie) was too f***** loud, no, I could actually hear my self for a change.
We were playing farely loud, but the sound was warm, yet direct and always clean. And now I experienced what a fantastic cabinet my Bag End is! Yes, this is a perfect combination! In time I will replace the Peavey, becaus I think that this cabinet is too small for the Eden. But the combination is definitely good.

Reliability : No Opinion
I cannot tell you anything about it yet, because I just bought this amp.

Customer Support : 10
The customer support is great. I bought this amp at a local dealer. It was used for commercial reasons, yet he gave me the full 2 years of warranty. When the amp arrived, the importer of Eden came to give me a full and detailled instruction on how to use this amp. He gave me his card and if I have trouble or questions I can always give him a call. Now, that I call GOOD SERVICE!!!!!!!

Overall Rating : 10
I play over 20 years and had a lot of gear (amps of Fender, HH, Kustom, Hartke and Ampeg). But Eden stole my heart!

This is a 2001 model. Very versatile amp loaded with tweakability, but I find that I can leave the amp knobs alone and use my bass for style/sound adjustments. There isn't a single feature I wish it had that isn't already included....that's one of the reasons I bought it. Choc-full-o power, especially bridged mono into a single cab as I do. Used stereo and biamp function with a second cab once but was worried about killing my parrots. 600 watts in a head is really more than I need but you lose some features in Eden's lower wattage amps.

Sound Quality : 9
With a Music Man Sterling I play a variety of music in the realm of blues-rock-jazz-funk. I pretty much leave all the knobs at 12 o'clock with the exception of their "magic knob"...I put that at about 9 o'clock. I played with the bass shelving once and almost tore tissue in my abdomen...these tone control knobs are **VERY** powerful. A little goes a LONG way. Although I don't use the tone knobs much, I'd imagine you can get virtally any sound you like considering their sensitivity. Haven't tapped it for distortion since I don't care for it. If it doesn't distort at high gain to your liking you can always swap the preamp tube for something grittier. All in all, this thing sounds like heaven out of the box without any tweaking. Eden is known for their warm sound and it is a harmonic orgasm as promised. I play it through a SWR Goliath III and I think they match well. I don't know how to describe it other than the Goliath's punch and definition factor keeps the Eden's warmth from disappearing in the mix....in other words the pair makes a sound that cuts through like a mother but still maintains that warm cozy sound. I love this thing and am SO happy I didn't go with SWR's SM series because of the previous sentence.
One gripe...the Eden amps seem to put out a light hiss even with gain and master knobs all the way down. I had this with an 800 and thought it was the amp. I have it with the 600 as well and can only assume it's normal for their amps. The hiss is very minor, though greater than a workingman's series SWR amp I had, and is a small price to pay for the sound you get. I never really hear it unless I'm up near the horn but I do wish it would go away.

Reliability : No Opinion
This thing was assembled a year ago and was bought about 5 months ago, but for what it's worth it hasn't had any problems. I will be gigging with it without a backup...maybe keep an extra tube on hand. Considering how long I've had it I can't objectively rate the reliability.

Customer Support : 10
When I had their 800 I called support a couple times inquiring about the aforementioned hiss. They were very responsive, friendly, knowledgeable. These traits alone are extremely difficult to find in any customer service industry.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 15 years and this is the finest amp I've owned. I have other vintage guitar amps that have equally fine tone but none with the features of the WT-600. However, I must say I don't like the gold face...minor issue. If this was stolen or lost I would definitely get another. Before buying this I was wavering between a SWR SM-500 and the Eden. They are both great amps but it came down to tone preference and the Eden won. Great stuff!!

has great tone control. tube pre amp. stereo head 300 watts on each side. or 600 watts mono into 8 ohms. i never use the effects send/return.
the only feature i wish it had is a bridged mono feature at 4 ohms. and that only because i'm a lazy NYC musician and all clubs with backlines have 4 ohm cabinets. and usually only one.
eden does not recommend running 1 cabinet on one side. they say either one 8 ohm cab bridged mono, or 2 or more cabs at 4 or 8 ohms.
i found out that you can upgrade this to 800 watts for $300 through the eden factory.

Sound Quality : 10
love the sound. it seems to be the most accurate amplification of my bass. i play a rickenbacker with a bartolini neck pick-up. i love the sound of my guitar. its drives me nuts to plug into an amp that drastically changes it. eden amps don't change it. they amplify it. you can really get a distinct sound out of it because it sounds like your guitar, not the head. low end is huge. you can really hear the tube preamp.

Reliability : 9
so far the only problem i have is a dirty DI out. but, i bought the head as a showroom display model and it about 4 years old. I have only changed the tube, so it may just be time to get it cleaned out. i play out once a week with it and haven't had any other problems.

super nice. super healpful.

This amp was made July 2001. It puts out 600w in bridged mono mode and 300w per side in stereo or bi-amp. Has a very powerful EQ section. An incredible ?magic knob? aka Enhance. Headphone jack, PAD ?12db switch, etc..etc.., read the other review for the features?

Sound Quality : 10
I have to say this head has an incredible tone. I am using a Pedulla Pentabuzz and a SWR Goliath III 4x10 (bridged mode 8ohms) with this head. This combo sounds incredible...The EQ is powerful! I leave it flat most of the times but tweak the mid section a little bit to bring out the "mwha" out of my bass. I set the magic knob at 1?oclock and gain at 12o'clock and the sounds that come out of this head are second to none. When you don?t even have to mess with the EQ this has to tell you something? You can dial in many different tones with this head. You will be surprised!

Reliability : 9
Very reliable head, I can just tell this thing is a tank. Handmade, quality parts, etc? This company really has it going on.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nice warranty and have not dealt with their customer service team yet.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 9 years now. This head is the head of heads! I highly suggest other bass players out there to give this head a test drive. I compared this head with the AMPEG SVT-IV. It blows that head away hands down. The ampeg is overrated. I can get a lot more cleaner, warmer, punchier, fretless tones out of the Eden. I also compared it with the SWR SM-900. Both are good heads but the tones are different. I like the Eden tone better than SWR. Its hard to describe the difference between the two in typing. Another close one was the AGUILAR db750. It was VERY similar to tone here. Except for the fact that the Aguilar cost was another $300 more because of it being all tubes. Maybe there is a bigger difference in tone but I didn?t really hear much, its almost the same head in my opinion, just more power. I have also compared the WT-600 with the ASHDOWN, GK, and BUDDAH. It blew those three brands out of the water, hands down! In a nut shell the EDEN wt-600 can produce lots of volume and headroom for any size gig. You have a vast array of tonal shaping with this head, the EQ section is very powerful. That?s why lots of players keep it flat because not only does it bring out the bass? natural sound, the head is so damn good you don?t need to fool with anything, just plug in and play and you get an incredible tone. Another thing I like is that EDEN is a small company and the attention to detail is there. They don?t need to advertise -- this amp sells itself.

Single channel hybrid amp with torroidal transformer. Two 300 watt power amps, bridgable to 600 watts into 8 ohms. Built in selectable cross-over with balance control. Standard hybrid World Tour tube pre-amp, which is to say VERY versatile! Mono effects loop, stereo effects loop, tuner output, individual power amp inputs, stereo input for plugging in a discman or walkman and playing along. Outstanding direct out with level control.

Sound Quality : 10
I am running this amp bridged into an Eden D410XLT. My bass is a Warwick Thumb 4. The combination is incredible! I have TONS of headroom and tone for days. The adjustable tweeter on the 410 allows me to alter the entire tonal structure of the system with just a tweak. The only amp other than an SVT I've ever played that can get that original SVT tone! The best thing is the portability. Going from the 85 pound SVT head and 165 pound 810 cabinet to a 26 pound head and an 80 pound cabinet without losing on sound was a blessing. Don't get me wrong, the SVT sound is not the only sound this thing gets. Just grab some knobs and start tweaking and you can go anywhere from the dub of an old Acoustic 360 to modern hi-fi with all the variations in between.

Reliability : 9
I bought the amp used and had only one problem with it. See the customer support section for more info.

Customer Support : 10
The amp was a little over 2 years old when I bought it and would get a very harsh grinding noise when played hard. I sent it in to Eden, they not only fixed it, (somehow a loose washer had gotten lodged under a circuit board and was shorting something out) but they also upgraded the cooling system ALL AT NO CHARGE! They provided fantastic personalized service.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing bass for more than twenty years and have owned a large number of different amps from old Kustoms, Fender Bassmans (great guitar amps but crappy bass amps), Peaveys, Ampegs, to SWR, Mesa Boogie and now the Eden. The eden is by far the loudest, tightest, punchiest, most tone-laden amp of the bunch! (That's right, guitar players aren't the only one's in search of perfect tone!) If this one got stolen I would definately buy another Eden, only I would probably get the Metro combo, basically the same amp in a 210 combo for even more portability. The only thing I wish it had in addition to the tuner out would be a tuner mute switch so you could mute the output while tuning.
