Bought this amp in 1996. Sold a car to get it, so I expected alot. I got it. Stereo power amps at 400 watts per side into 4 ohms. Bridge for 800 watts only into 8 ohms. 12ax7 preamp and ss power. DI with level control. pre and post fx loops. tuner and hp outs. Play 15 gigs a month, and since I had it rewired, no probs.

Play with spector usa 4, spector euro 4, warwick streamer lx 6.Each bass has its own character, but the semi parametric can solve any eq probs usually with bass knob only, depending on the room. Very warm and ballsy-- bass knob kills at just 2 o'clock. I usually play with my orig rock band, but it's great for jazz, blues and soul gigs-- has that great tube purr. Fairly good compressor, though I use outboards mostly.

Here's the rub. Had some internal probs, and I sent it to Eden twice. First time it took 3 months to fix, and the prob recurred after 4 gigs. Second time I couldn't get Eden to fix it, so a friend tried to. He had to rewire something, and the thing works great now. Shame on you Eden, after I paid over $1500(10% over cost) for it.

Playing pro for over 15 yrs, and I own Trace AH600, SWR SM400, and this Eden. I've owned Ashdown(blah!), Hartke(still like 'em). Played thru Ampeg(I like the SVT III), GK, Sunn, and I still like the Eden the most.

This amp is a new one channel 2005 product Bass, Treble and 3 band semi parametric EQ very powerful! I play Surf Rock and in Church and this amp covers it all definately versatile. It has stereo and mono effects loops and headphone jack I guess I wish it had one more semi parametric band like my old SWR SM400s but I can get any sound out of this amp. Its a hybrid amp VALVE preamp and Mosfet powersection 800W into 8ohms. I play pubs and theatre venues and its got way more power than i need I needed an amp to drive my BASSON 4x10(AMAZING SOUND COMBINED WITH MY HEAD!!! The WT-800 is the perfect head for working musicians, plenty of power, ability to bridge, dual mono or bi-amp, and if you will leave the eq flat, you will have the almost perfect tone regardless of what bass you aqre playing.

I play an'02 Stingray 4 and an '87 P-bass. Our 7 piece R&B / Classic Rock band will light up some tunes. Thw WT-800 has alwaysa allowed me to get that clean tone I want, nothing booming or too bitey, just right.

I've been playing bass for 30 years, Eden exclusively for the last 2 years. Once I found this sound, I'll never go anywhere else. The Fenders, Hartkes, Ampegs, SWR's etc... of the world have had my business for years, but now...if something ever happened to my Eden I would have to replace it immediately.

It's all been mentioned here, but the KEY feature is the EQ section, with the traditional shelving bass (at 30 Hz) and shelving treble (at 2KHz) controls, and very useful parametric mid EQ controls at three different levels of your choice. This gives you the ability to dial in your tone/sound with the ultimate "tweakability". That said, I have to say I run the EQ almost nearly dead flat (only slight boosts in my "sweet spot" mid frequencies). It's not missing anything!

I always get complements on the sound of my bass, and I must give the Eden 1/3 the credit. It has plenty of headroom (I play in a loud classic rock band, and have yet to increase the master volume past 12:00. Even at these loud levels, the bass tone is clean and crisp, never distorted or harsh. Beautiful!

Overall, as close to a 10 as I've seen/heard. Perhaps the best value and arguably among the best sounding of the "upper level" bass amps you can get. If you're looking for a great sound, but can't spend 2 grand for it, look into an Eden!

The feature set on this thing is perfect for me as a performing and recording musician. On board compression, built in effects loop, great parametric EQ, and the bi-amping with crossover is great. Gives me everything I need to dial in the correct sound. Also good to know the XLR out is whisper quiet, and has its own level control, so it works great to run direct in the studio.

I play a KingDoubleBass custom upright with a K&K Rockabilly Slap special pickup system. I play mostly hard slappin rockabilly in medium to large venues. I use this to drive an SWR Goliath II (4x10) cabinet on the high and and an SWR Big Ben (1x18) from the bottom. When you ask an amp to take the fat low notes from the gut strings of an upright bass and put it into these two big speaker cabinets and give it some volume, some amps just can't handle the pressure. It takes a lot of volume to have the low fundamentals come out distinct and somewhat punchy. The upright bass does everything it can NOT to be punchy. But the WT-800 takes all that, chews it up, and spits out pure slappin glory. I previously used an SWR SM-400S, and it just couldn't handle the workload. Great amp, just not quite enough power. This Eden sounds great and has all the juice you could need be heard in darn near any size venue (arena rockers may need 2 or 3 of these). and with all that volume, you still get warmth and punchiness. Outstanding.

Never a single problem. I originally bought this when I was looking for a backup for my SWR SM-400S. I kept the SWR around just in case, but have never had an issue with this amp. This is over about 5 years and around 200 live shows. Great performer.

I'd have a hard time believing there is a better bass head out there. Thee may be cheaper ones with more power, but they don't sound this good. Definitely the best if you can afford one. Well worth the price, as it is likely to be the last bass amp you will ever buy.

This is an Eden wt-800 amp. It was made in 97'. I bought it on Ebay for $650 with a new rack case included. I play alot of top 40, R&B, pop, and acoustic based pop/rock. And it's great for all of them. It has alot of features like tuner out, aux in, effect loops in and out, and a parametric and quasi parametric EQ, compressor "Aural Enhancer" knob, tweeter crossover freq. knob, cool light!and a bunch more. It's also bi-ampable. It does 2x400@4ohms, or 1x800@8ohms. check it out @ www.eden-electronics.com I mainly use this amp at home and on stage at the church auditorium, they have an amazing pro-audio setup there. The Sound guys love the amp cuz it sounds great and also has a D.I. out in the back. I use it on the 800 mono, it has alot of bass, power, but it sounds smooth and gentle too. It's a tube hybrid system, has 2 tubes. Has a head phone jack as well, I don't ever use it though. I play it through my Eden 410XT cab which i also bought used for only $500 (that's only $100 more than a new carvin cab) I bought my whole rig for less than what that amp alone would cost new. Gotta love Ebay.

I'm currently Using a Peavey Cirrus 5 Redwood, yeah yeah, go ahead and laugh, but this peavey is actually good. lol really. Maybe it doesn't though, maybe it's just the amp that makes it sound good, hmm? The amp is not noisey at all, it's very very quiet, especially compared to the Gallien krueger amp a friend of mine has. His sounds like a freakin tv without cable, you know all that scratchy white noise, what the hell is that!? Thank Guitar Center's staff for that deal, he's still making payments on that P.O.S.

So far it's been really dependable. It has one of those thermal fan that goes on when the amp reaches a certain temperature. And it suppossed to shut off and protect them amp if it get's too hot, to keep it from frying...hasn't happened yet so i dunno if it true, but the manual says it does, so i guess it's a good thing it hasn't shut of on me yet. Would i use it with out a back up, yeah. The Manual says that even when it shuts off, the D.I. still works so, atleast you can keep the gig going.

been playing for about 7 years. I have a taylor acoustic, peavey cirrus.Had a prs, and 5150 combo, taylor classical, tobias bass. If it were stolen, and i had the money, yeah i would buy it again defenitely. I took this to guitar center to put them up agains other amps just for fun, and it crushed them all, swr broke a sweat, ampeg cried, Mesa M-pulse held it's own and kept it cool (i liked it). gallien krueger didn't even show up (i didn't even wanna try it, after comparing it to my friend's)
This amp is the best amp i've had or even tried for that matter. It is definately the high end, pro sound amp that you hear on CD's and see on tv and stuff. It also is very expensive though, beware if you try one, you'll want one and that can be a problem. Luckily i found mine on ebay cheap, it was probably stolen or something, oh well, not my problem! lol Oh, and it's heavy too, like 34lbs!

It has all the basic features plus more. It has an extremely powerful parametric eq. It has a built in compressor, that I don't really use because I prefer my Carl Martin. It can be biamped, stereo and mono. It also has a built in crossover switch. It has every feature I want.

It is a big fat 10. I remember the first time I practiced with the rest of the band. Every five minutes somebody kept saying that the sound was so big deep and defined. I currently un this is a straight stereo setup to an ededn 410xlt and a 115xlt. The 15" really helps bring out the big bottom and I highly recommend it.
When I first demoed this I played it side y sid to, and with the same cabinets, against 2 mesa boogies, ampeg svt3 and 4, and swr750x and 900. I like many of these amps but the wt800 just humbled them. It didn't just sound better then the others it made them sound like they were broken...and I mean broken. I would have to crank the other amps bass all the way up just to approach the amount of (non-muddy) bass that the the eden got.
This amp is a monster. With other amps I have owned (mesa boogie bass400+ and swr 750x) I always found myself coaxing the sound out of it. That is I would crank the bass way up and play with preamp settings. Although they are good amps I had to drag the big sound out of them. With the Eden it is the other way around. There is so much tone across the spectrum that I am turning frequencies down rather then cranking things up.
Although I don't...all you need to do is plug your bass into this baby and you are set, you don't need to front end it at all.
In addition, I'm the big 400 watt per side power budget really helps to. I can get really loud and the amp doesn't struggle, so when you crank out that big bass sound the overall tone is well behaved, that is it doesn't fall appart at high settings.
This is definitelly a gig players amp that is what it is made to do.

Best bass amp I have ever heard.
Don't plug into this amp unless you can afford it.
Because If you can't it will break your heart.
I really recommend a side by side comparison. Once you do that
you will want to buy it. I gave it a nine only because IT IS EXPENSIVE. If it were stolen I would by one the next day...If my wife lets me:)

Pre UMC buyout (uses banana instead of NL4, boooo), 2000/01 i think. single channel, stereo bi-amp 2x400@4ohms, mono bridge 800@8ohms. headphones, pre/post eq fx loop, tuner out, blah blah blah blah, "enhance knob", compressor, crossover, nice eq layout.
i run this amp through the 8ohms bridged into a bag end 410. the biamp feature is great, but it doesnt cut it for me because i play in an indie rock band, and not a smoky jazz club w/ a piano and trumpet(although this head was made for that and does sound amazing w/ a good fretless) it can only put out around 260 watts@8 ohms on the stereo mode. ever seen a 200 watt 18? your left running it through a 2x10/1x15 setup, and thats is not loud enough on stage. on the contrary, the 800 watts are extreemly full and resonant. i miss the 4ohm hit but if you didnt know it wasnt there you wouldnt notice. plus the 8ohms feels amazingly smooth, almost gives the tone more butter in the middle. i like it better.

this amp is THE sound. ive played about 30 shows w/ it since i bought it and always get compliments. you must, however, get the right cabinet. i ran it w/ an ampeg 810 for a while and the highs were horrible and everything eventually turned into mud when it clipped, so spend the extra money and put somthing underneath this thing worth it. it took me a while to cope w/ the small size of a single 410 cause i mean, hey big is cool, but you forget when you realize your tone makes everyone elses sound cheap.
now, ive got beef with this "Enhance Knob" feature. You MUST run the EQ flat to get good tone, which i have no problem w/ because of active electronics, however, the enhance knob accelerates the really harsh highs and puts to much fret noise into the sound as well as what you really want to hear at the other end. youll then lose your attack because you back off more to over compensate. depending on the accoustics, ill adjust it after i raise the master, and will never run it past 9 oclock, just to put a little color into the tone.
you have to run the gain all the way up because the preamp will never clip, EVER. you have to try to light that compressor, because it wont happen by mistake.
my guitar players run a tele/mesa mark 3's w/ GH-75's and a les paul/mark VI w/ V30's, and my tone locks it all together. the extreemes they pull off sound like they are playing on top of my root instead of competing. thats what this head does right, it hides back in the mix, but expands and fills everywhere.

i can never tell when it will overheat. ive run it hard and backed off and everywhere inbetween and can never find the absolute max minus one for the thermal peak.
the chassis is super solid. the construction is top notch.the layout is pretty simple. the transformer is massive. the tube is kind of a pain to change because you need 2 size screw drivers. minus 1.
banana? why? i hate banana cables. im always afraid they are about to break. minus 2.

I use a Fender P deluxe & a way cool Peavey RJIV bass and both sound sweet thru this thing.Ive owned soooooo many amps I could, ahhhhh well nevermind. I play hard rock/ metal & my new Wt-800 does it with ease. It's pretty basic,a couple of minutes & you dial in whatever is needed. I don't play pop & slap crap, but I'm sure it would do that well too. If ya need mega distortion, it'll do it, I prefer the Sansamp Bass Driver for an SVTish grind. Thats all personal bullshit.Power to spare regardless of gig. I prefer 15's (4 of em) but have play thru other cabs with equally good results.

I just bought this amp as a replacement to a problematic trace elliot I was playing for about 6 years. Although it doesnt have the nice 12 band EQ that my trace had the eq that is there seems to be very versitile. Although I would like a more dynamic eq this one does do alot more than anticipated by looking at it. Other than that it is pretty straight forward amd easy to deal with. I am also the type who preferrs playing to tweeking and messing with my amp, I like an amp to be ajustable on the fly and versitile but not a nightmare of options and "features" (coughrackmountcough.

I use a standard 97 5-string Fender Jazz Bass, completely stock (with a genuine immitation leapord skin strap). I feel the Jazz is a solid bass that I can plug into almost any amp and manipulate the sound I want from the knobs on the bass, it being a 5 string does put an additional bottom end load on the amp and has proven to be one of the most critical points I faced when making this purchase.
I realy love the sound the WT800 produces, it has a great bottom end that is very strong, it doesnt just punch out a low then die, it retains it and it stays loud. The mids are not too much of an issue since I dont use tons of mids in the first place and I have never found an amp that I actually felt needed more mid range.. I could have a bit more punch (Like the GK-800RB) but I just boost up the highs a tad and it cuts through nice. The high end is nice, I get more than enough high end, and it is very clean and true to the sound of my bass. All in all I get a wide range of good sound from this head and anything that is bad usually a result of the instument plugged into it. I also play my "Kay" style upright with a Fishman pickup through this and it is extremely easy to switch insturments and retain a good sound from both with minimal adjustment.

Very reliable piece of equipment except for one thing..... When it gets hot or worked real hard (i.e. 24 mesures of low b) it will get hot and a breaker will pop internally this is the only problem I have had period, and I do travel around with it quite a bit. I contacted Edens Customer Support and they told me it was a weaker breaker they were useing that has since been replaced with a beefier one.

If the WT800 got stolen I would buy another i am sure of it. I tried every amp known to man (almost) when I bought this one and it was definitly the best. Only thing I wish it had was one of those big blue lights like my guitar players Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier.
