MX Bi-100 Red Truck Bass Guitar Preamp System. This thing is a little plastic box about the size of a pack of cigarettes with an input and output and a 9 volt battery compartment. There are some electronics inside. That's it. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. There's a drawing of a monster truck with RED Truck on the label.

This thing is called a preamp and actifier.

MX Bi-100 Red Truck Bass Guitar Preamp System. It is a great way to upgrade passive bass guitars. The main idea behind Red Trucks is to achieve a richer tonal quality and wider frequency response of active bass systems WITHOUT altering your guitar's tonal personality. It is a fact that active bass guitars perform better than passive ones because of the tonal range that can be achieved. In most cases active basses have clearer and fat low ends as well as more definitive high ends.
That all being said this thing is incredible. I was skeptical to say the least when I read the ad on eBay. However, it was only $30 so I figured what have I got to lose.
Now I have an Aphex Bass Exciter and a Nathan East preamp, and an Aguilar DB924 so I think I'm qualified to discuss this subject.
The RED Truck is in a class with any of these. The others dicussed above are adjustable. The RED Truck is not. But the sound you get out of it is tremendous. It increases the high end without making it tinny or crackling. There's depth to it. It also tightens the low end and makes it's clearer and punchier. Don't ask me how but it does.
It's quiet (no hum or buzz) and it's not a real hot signal that makes things distort either.
I own some really nice basses( M Bass, MTD, US Masters) and these are all active basses. I also own the Squire 70's jazz bass and the Jaco fretless one as well. Both passive. Well this RED Truck thing makes the both sound great and now give the higher priced basses a run for the money.

Reliability : No Opinion
There's no moving parts so unless you treat your stuff like crap or don't replace the battery once in a while you shouldn't have a problem

Customer Support : No Opinion
These things are made in Michigan in the good ol' US of A.
If you went to the Music ElectroniX website I'm sure they'd get right back to you with any questions you may have

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing and recording for 30 some years. This is a secret that needs to get out. This thing is a great deal and great sounding unit.
