Euphonic Audio's newer line of bass cabinets which has taken the place of the Great Great VL series. The cabinet sports a 12 and horn as the other reviews state. It is rated at 350 watts but like most cabinets at this level it can handle more. Lite weight and easy to travel although it would be nice if it had wheels. I know most 12's do not but it is just big enough to or should have wheels. But not being made of wood, like the VL series it is lighter.

The cabinet can be mid rangy but that is what the company I think was looking for. It gives you the ability to really dial in the frequencies you are looking for. I feel they have accomplished this. But........I feel the composites that the cabinet is made from does not give the wood warmthness that there VL series had. Mind you they did not produce a 12 in the VL series but I feel the VL series had a better tone. Yet this cabinet is full of great tones and can get a very pleasing tone that most other cabinets can not. Euphonic Audio products are known to have a geat tone in a very compact size so many will be amazed as you play out on one of these cabinets and the volume it can sustain with the aquired tone will open eyes - and ears.

Very reliable cabinet. Made well and the speaker can handle alot of watts without distortion. The cabinet when banged needs to be cleaned because somehow it picks up the paint from where it was hit. Needs to be cleaned on occasion.

Alot of support. They stand by there product more than most companies.

This is a very well made good sounding cabinet. But....I still like the VL Series better. I used the VL 210 with a Demeter head, DBX 160A, a TC electronic 1140 parametric and a Crest 6A power amp and I can't imagine anything sounding better. Also a Sadowsky 5 helps too. All n All the VL is no longer being made. But if this CXL were stolen I would try the Aguilar first and A/B them to see which I would choose.
But if my VL was stolen I would search and search for another one.

Cxl 112. 1-12" kevlar impregnated coaxial speaker
Extremely versatile amp. Very clean and voiced nicely in the midrange. The horn is not harsh and very well balanced with the speaker. Handles a lot of power as I have the Walter Woods ultra high head. Will buy two for loud gigs but 1 and a Vl10 have been a very compact full range rig. The cab is extremely efficient with sensitivity rating of 103db

Very clear sound. Bandmates say they can hear me better on stage. Great for electric bass and EUB. Don't use it much for upright only because I can get away with a 110 or Raezer's edge with 2 eights. Sometimes experience some raspy distortion when turning volume pot on Woods but I have a feeling it is a dirty volume pot on amp not speaker's fault

Reliability : No Opinion
So far so good. Will buy two but one has been enough for most gigs. Two would be all you need for loudest gig, especially since they are very efficient.

Customer Support : No Opinion
E-mailed EA with various questions before purchasing. They were extremely helpful with their replies. Answered all my real-world gigging questions about sound and compatibility of my present equipment.

Been playing 25 years. Own VL 208, 2Vl110s, Raezer's Edge twin 8T, Acme B1, Walter Woods ultra high head, Clarus head.
If stolen woudl definitely buy another.
Love portability and design. Input jack was loose on arrival but called Dealer and was told how to quickly fix it. Sometimes a little too midrangy.

This cabinet can take alot more than 350 watts. Its the cleanest cabinet you will play at this price range. And the average price is 675 Dollars, But if you shop around you can get it cheaper. For a single 12 that is pricey but worth every penny. But shop around.

This is a very clean sounding amp and to really appreciate the tone it must be played out on a gig. A very flat sounding cabinet but when played live the tones are just like your favorite sounding bass. Clean and focused. No muddiness at all. I have the VL 210B and this cabinet matches its pure and fat tones. The 12 is a nice sounding change to the 10's which I have used for years. More bottom and sweet highs. It really can sound just like your favorite bass tone. If you want more bottom it will make it clean and focused. If you want more highs it will make it stand out and not at all sharp. You will not only be surprised of the sound but of the volume it lets out. It can handle alot of power. Much more than the 350 rating.

If this amp was stolen I would get another. This amp is it. This is exactly what I want. The cabinet is made with a durable hard black finish. Can take a beating. A very well made cabinet.

3 year warranty on the speakers. Which is fine. I can't see it blown unless it was really abused. I never really needed any help from them but they did respond very quickly to a question I have about 6 months ago.

Overall Rating : 10
If you are looking for a great sounding cabinet this is the cabinet to buy. I just can't believe that I finally have a cabinet that does the job in that the sound can produce exactly what I am looking (Or Hearing) for. I have the Eden 410 XLT, EA VL-210 and now the CXL 112. But the EA are my favorites and I believe you will have the luck also if you buy one. Again expensive but its well worth it. Why not pay that little extra to get what you want. But play it on a gig and judge. You will be so surprised that this cabinet can give that fat tone you are looking for. You will be heard and you will hear very clearly of what you are playing.
