I think i have had my VL210 for about 3 years now, not sure, but its here to stay.
I use it with a Crown Microtech amp and an Alembic pre amp.. wish i had a dealership, i'm sure i could have sold a few cabinets.
When i fist used it i ran it bi-amped with a single 15 on the bottom, nice but un-remarkable; one day to save room i set the amp to bridge mono and sat the cabinet on a flight case....bingo.... it came to life.
These days, i do sometimes put a bit through
the PA.. this is for added bottom end, and to keep the on stage sound down a bit.
I dont like the carpet covering (it smells like the drummers girlfriends tights!) a bit too fluffy really, and gets full of crud and crisps etc.
never mind, it lives in a flight case and still looks like new.

Sound...well i love it.
Have tried a few 4 x 10's, loads of homeade boxes, allsorts.; no contest.
I always said i would buy a new cabinet when one came along better than i could build.... well here it is.
I use it mainly with a Yamaha TRB 5 and it covers Country Rock And Pop ........magic.
I also use an Akai Bass synth pedal.....no problem.
I love the sound..its heavy to lift...but i can live with that for now.
If i do anything, i may buy the new 800 watt combo, to use for smaller gigs as i get older.... i'm sure it will sound fine.

Never let me down
just two problems.
1. My local Mr Fixer has hade to make me a low frequency filter to take out what he thought was nearly DC voltage being put out by the Crown amp. ....Who knows, but it has done the trick, and the speakers have stopped jumping about as much.... i was sure i was going to cause
some damage, but this went on for ages.... in my "no help from the PA" days.

One other thing; i had a problem with large excursions causing the top cone hitting the rubbery adhesive that held on the EA logo.
this was poking out behind the grill like a load of little worms.
I cut these off with a knife and ...problem solved.
While the front grill was off i also put some rubber door stops under the securing screws to give a bit of solidity. (if there is such a word).
What can i say in conclusion;
i have never seen another one 'round these parts (south west England) ....if it broke i would try to get it fixed.... probably couldn't buy another one the same...so would probably go for the combo.
one last thing...has anyone ever blown a speaker on one of these....?

No Idea

now back to my Ukelele practice.

I think i have said all this stuff in the wrong boxes above...

oh yes, one last thing.... i wish it had a small speaker to one side (placed centrally ..so you can turn it over) so the drummer can hear it; i tend to play in small spaces with the cabinet beside, not behind him, and he complains he can't always hear it.

I play world music.... with averiety of professional basses. This cabinet is beautiful in that there is very little coloration in sound which allows the true character of the instrument to come through. It is sweek at the top and mid's and very deep and focused at the bottom. It loves a lot of power, but that OK because I'm pushing over 900 watts at the drivers don't even blink at loud levels.

Reliability : 10
No problem with the sound of this cabinet.... only complaint is how they configured the costers on the bottom which can cause it to topple very easily. I talked to them about this and they admitted they muffed that part of the design. Other than that the size is perfect the sound is clear and very big. The other note I just found is that they are no longer making the VL210's. There site list the CLX series which I hear are more efficient and can handle more power, but I've not heard them yet.

Customer Support : 10
When I had to contact them on the coaster problem they were straight up and responded quickly so I rate that very high.

Overall Rating : 9
If I had to buy all over again this would definately be a no brainer.

For all you bass enthusiasts out there....this just may very well be one of the best bass cabinets you will ever encounter. This cab sports two ten inch drivers, two five and one-half inch drivers, a tweeter, and a massive front port.

Sound Quality : 10
The sound is where this bad boy excels. No matter what style of music you play, this thing is your answer for clean and deep sound. If you play funk, rock, reggae, jazz, ballads, church music...whatever, this baby can do it all. Seriously, this cabinet can get the sweetest single coil sound you have been looking for to use during ballads and what not, and yet it can thump with the best of them for reggae. Now, I'm not gonna lie to you....this cabinet rocks but it can't make up for other crappy gear. It's not magical or anything, it is just a high quality cabinet. I personally use a Peavey Firebass Amp, through a SansAmp Bass Driver--which rocks by the way. As the other commenters said, this thing is power hungry. It sports a 500 watt threshold and yet it seems to want more. So the more power you crank into her the better she sounds!! I've found that if you want a more thumpy sound lay it on it's side with the port on the ground...Basic port dynamics. Now, price is a concern..BUT trust me, if you can afford it it's worth it. Sell a kidney or something because trust me it is by far worth it!!

Reliability : 9
Haven't had any problems with them..I have one 4 ohm and one 8 ohm...and I have been gigging with them for close to six months. I gave it a nine because honestly I don't know how they will hold up, but so far they ROCK!

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea...never had to deal with them because their product is solid.

Overall Rating : 10
As you can tell...I am a bass enthusiast, and more importantly I am an EA enthusiast. If you have the money DO IT!! You will not regret it!

2x10 cabinet with tweeters, mid and hi frequency rotary boost/cut on rear, 1/4" or speakon outs, 4 castors, fairly small size, not too heavy (I can carry it with one hand.) Because it doesn't color your sound and other factors is give it a hands down, no brainer "10".

Sound Quality : 10
MY SET-UP:
Sadowsky jazz bass -> Kern IP 777 preamp ->Crown K2 power amp ->EA 2x10 cab. Sometime I use an FMR RNC compressor and rarely a Roger Mayer Voodoo-1 for some dirt.

SOUND:
Incredible. You will not believe this is a 2x10 cabinet. It sounds crystal clear with chest thumping lows, solid mids, and beautiful high end. No mud and no harshness. The best sounding cabinet I've heard.

Reliability : 10
It seems built very well and should stand up to abuse. The cabinet is covered with a heavy duty felt which looks good but perhaps over time it will look cruddy...perhaps not. I've run my Crown K2 bridged in mono at around 1300w and this puppy can take a lot of it. I didn't max the amp because I didn't want to get kicked out of the band. ;)

Prompt e-mail response and very nice and helpful on the phone. I forget how long the warrantee is. I doubt I'll need it.

Overall Rating : 10
I've had this EA VL210 cab for over a year (maybe 2) and I love it. It easily fills any club I play. I tried SWR, Eden, Fender, Ampeg, and a few others brands including various 2x10 and 4x10 and a few 15s. This blew them away hands down. EBS was close but I thought the Euphonic Audioo sounded much deeper, clearer, open and natural.

Some say the EA cabs are power hungry. Well, any cab that puts out lows like this will use a lot of power. However, I have heard the newer models are more efficient. Nevertheless, don't let this scare you away. This cab sounds so good--prodigious and beautiful--and is portable...I love it. The first time I played live with it I couldn't believe how good it sounded and !felt!

If it were stolen I'd certainly replace it. Perhaps I'd check out Bergantino because at the moment there's a lot of buzz about them. I haven't heard them but the EA will be a tough act to follow. I cannot imagine anyone owning this cabinet and not swooning.

I may get the EA 1x10 as a luxury to use as 'bass monitor' literally on top of the VL210 but turned facing me for certain stages I play on where I have to stand to the side of the VL 210 and not in front it.
