This is a 2x10 bass cabinet with a horn. Covered in black ozite with a perforated metal grill. The crossover has a horn level L-pad that varies the horn from nothing to extremely bright. I was built in '98 or '99. It has a second parallel wired jack for linking to other cabinets. It is rated 150W continuous RMS. Cabinet construction is fair, a little on the light side for my tastes. It does not meet the standard of my 13 ply baltic birch Hiwatt guitar cabinet, but it is decent and there are no stray noises or vibrations.
It's another one of those "deals I could not refuse." Found at Guitar Center as new old stock from the Musician's Friend. I offered $200, and they took it! Heck, probably couldn't build it for that price. Bought to go with my BXR 300C (see separate review). It is slightly wider than the combo cabinet, but sits on it just fine, once you take off the rubber feet.

When used with a BXR 300C Fender bass combo, it sounds GREAT. I'm a guitar player, and thought that the one 15 combo was all that I needed. I was wrong, it sounded dead without this cabinet. Now, I'm very happy with the sound.
It sounds good on its own with bass. It sounds decent with the Bass combo for regular guitar, if you turn off the horn (I sometimes use a pan fader pedal with my Marshall for distortion and this amp for clean). I don't like the sound for regular guitar on its own (kind of honky), but that is not what it was designed for.
NOTE: I'm rating the sound for my application (with the BXR 300C and active pickup five string Yamaha). Your mileage may vary.
Reliability
:
No Opinion
Just bought it new, so I cannot make a real comment on reliability. Only rated at 150W RMS continuous, so keep that in mind. Would expect to blow the horn if I overloaded the power with the horn up high. The cabinet is fairly light construction, so I wouldn't carelessly go tossing it in the back of the truck between gigs.

Works excellent for my application and it was a heck of a bargain. If lost, I'd buy another, if I could get the same price. It was half the price of other similar cabinets, so I'm factoring in the price in my rating. I know that there are better sounding cabinets, but NOT AT THIS PRICE.
