I've been playing bass since 2 years now and have a lot of gigs with my band.
We play in bigger areas. And sometimes our drummer made me going crazy because he was too loud. So I decided to buy a bigger better amp. It was the top of the Fender BXR 300 C -Combo.
It has got 300 watt onto 4 ohm (Of course it' a transistor amp whitout any tube amps).
It's extremely loud when I play it onto my Mesa/Boogie Diesel 2x15. I think it's made in the 90's, but not sure. It has got a deltacomp, preamp in/out, boost on high and low, 4band EQ.

im playing a vision black beauty and it even sounds great.
A very dynamic sound in any case.
you can use this amp for every style you need (blues, metall, grunge, pop)
If you pump it on a higher level by using the boost you should be careful with your ears cus' it's so f***** loud.
the EQ let you choose every style you need.

This amp has a CJ on it's Quality assurance label which evidently means it was built in October of 1992. I've got the head only--scavenged out of its original cabinet. This model has red switches for low and high enhance, 3 band eq with sweepable mid, deltacomp compression for clipping protection and an effects loop all on the front panel. Minimum impedance is 4ohms. Plain vanilla amp.

It's okay. I use it for rock, and I find it lacking in power, and it gets a little flabby at times. The sweepable mid is a nice touch and allows for a decent variety of tones. The low boost is useful for quieter shows to compensate for loudenss. The high boost is essentially an "add hiss" switch and I avoid it.

Now that the amp is 9 years old and on its 3 owner, it's showing some signs of distress. The jacks are all rather loose. The amp cuts out every once in a great while when playing at high volume--even if it's just acting as a preamp with no speakers plugged into it. I suspect the loose input plugs may be to blame. For only being this old, I'm surprised it's in such bad shape.

A friend had it laying in his garage after it cut out on him in a gig and the fan quit turning--I suspect it was due to thermal issues since he was running it without a side panel thereby defeating the cooling design. He sold it to me very inexpensively and it has served me well in a pre-amp capacity. I have a 4ohm (thought it was 8ohm...but learned otherwise!) 1x15 cabinet and an 8ohm 2x10 cabinet, and the resulting 2.66 ohm load really upset this amp during a gig and it cut out repeatedly--which is to be expected since I overloaded the output. In hindsight, I'm surprised it didn't simply burn up. The head was worth $100, but not much more given its condition.
