One 10" speaker, 25 watt amp. Tilt back cab ported. Standby switch is nice, extra aux input for CD or tape. Simple good quality practice amp. (or so a thought . . .)
Built 2003 I think.

Sound Quality : 9
This amp seems to get louder the longer I play it. 25 watts is very conservitive rating it seems much more powerfull. Mostly I use this amp with my church band on sundays. Good tone if you roll off the highs a bit. I use either Fender Jazz or P-Bass, with flat or round wound strings.

Reliability : 9
Had it over a year now have considered selling it but the more I play it the more I like it. Can't understand why. Have played it every sunday at church for a year now. It's been flawless so far.

Fender (Made in Mexico?) I think. Support? who knows?

I have been playing semi pro for over 20 years. Own Ampeg PB250, SWR WM160, and Gallen Kruger 1001RB for gigs with my rock band, Jazz Quartet, and 20 piece Big band swing group. I thought when I bought this it would just be my small amp for little acoustic practice sessions. WRONG! It is loud enough to play with my 20 piece big band in rehersal and still be heard though 15 horns and 4 other rythum section players. This amp has turned out to be much more than I expected for the price. Very good quality sound, and no one believes it's 25 watts it's just way to loud for that.

Basic 1x10 25 watt bass amp combo w/bass, mid, treble, volume. Aux channel w/rca input and volume control. Effects send & return, speaker out, line out, headphones out. A lot of features for such a small amp. A very cool tilt back cabinet.

Sound Quality : 9
For a small amp, it has pretty good volume and tone. I play an old Hagstrom hollow body bass and it sounds great. I play in a praise/worship band and I use it for a stage monitor. Also works great if using the line out. Not noisey.

Reliability : 10
Bought it used and had it for about a year and it still works.

If you are looking for a small bass combo, this seems to be a pretty good one. For the money it is a good value.

25W, 10" Speaker - Basic features - non-parametric tone circuits, effects loop, aux input, line out etc. This amp was bought to use in small, quieter locations (Coffee Houses etc.) with our Jazz trio. Used mainly with my custom electric upright bass to cover Jazz standards etc., it's small size and great tone make it perfect for this setting. The tone circuits are ok, and I am able to get the sound I want, but a semi-parametric setup (like on the Bassman 60 and up) would have been nice. The mute and Tuner out is a great feature.

Sound Quality : 9
I rate this a 9 because the sound at low to medium volume settings is excellent. I'm most interested in accurate tone and versatility.. getting big volume is not an issue where this amp is being used. I'm playing mostly an electric upright through it and it has a very good sound for the Jazz/Folk material that we play. I would not attempt to gig with this in a noisy club or bar..but that's not what it's designed for. I also have a Bassman 100 which I use with my Peavey Cirrus 5 for our regular bar gigs etc. (mostly new Country).

As a side note, when I put my effects rack in the loop, it makes a nice sounding guitar amp. I have used it this way with acoustic and solid body guitars with great results.

I have one gripe.. there is a small amount of power supply hum bleed-thru when the amp is being pushed hard. You have to be inches away from the cabinet to hear it, so it's ok in a live situation, but this would not be good in the studio. This is a minor annoyance, but one that should be fixed in the next revision.

Reliability : No Opinion
I've had my Bassman 100 for several years without incident, and it's used (and transported),weekly. It's too early to tell about the 25, but I don't see why it would be any different, it seems to be well built. They come with full schematics as well, which is helpful if you have to have it repaired out of warranty or by your local electronics shop..

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never had to deal with Fender directly on anything. I've heard rumours that they can be slow to respond, but I have no direct experience with them.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall this is a great amp for what it's meant for. I think people get into trouble when they try to push gear into doing jobs it wasn't designed for. This is my primary amp for small gigs in quiet places, acoustic gigs etc.and rehearsals. For everything else, I use my Bassman 100 and then run a line to the PA if needed. I've been playing bass for awhile (30yrs) and I'm really pleased with this combo. My bandmates (who are equally fussy) have commented that they really like the sound I'm getting from the Bassman amps, and I've had other musicians make good comments as well, so that's good enough for me.

Small wedge shaped bass combo. Vol, bass, mid, treb knobs. RCA in w/volume knob. 2 inputs, enhance button, tuner out button, effects loop, line out, tuner out, headphone out, ext speaker out. 10" speaker.

Sounds pretty good for a small amp (only 31lbs). Speaker rattles a little on low E string notes otherwise fairly clear. I bought this in ebay and never tried one of these before. I recently tried one at my local music store and the speaker rattled very badly. May be a problem inherent in the amp. I also found it strange that there are no other reviews for this amp here. Probably not a good omen. It'll work for what I want to use it for (playing with the church band and using it as a stage monitor utilizing the line out to the board).

This is a brand new Fender Bassman 25 , you know the features.

Sound Quality : 2
I use a MM Sterling, a Modulus Flea V String , an American series Telecaster and a 1990 Stratocaster American Deluxe.
For my music style (everything) it is not OK , I bought this amp because I love Fender and I wanted to play bass and guitar in the same apm, I thought tis was going to be it. It is not versatile as I thought it will be , I really wanted to like this amp only because it is a fender and Im in love with fender sound (specially guitars) but it was a big dissapointmen it is not versatile, it has no power and the sound just sucks, I really tried all the different equelizations possible and nothing, I read all te reviews here and went with it , Overall rating I will give a 2 because it really sucks I can tell you one thins and you wont beleive it, I also have a Peavy Microbass wich I bought like 10 years ago and I wanted something new and better with a reasonable price so I gave the bassman a shot, to my surprise I plug back my little 20 watt 150 bucks Microbass and there is no comparison at all the peavy is by far a lot better sounding , both with bass an guitar so dont waiste youtr bucks and try it in the store, specialy try to get the same bass ypou own or take your bass with you, there is a lot of dfference between the differnt basses so try it with your gear. I learned that over the years jejejejeje.

Reliability : 9
Fender is pretty good, even though this amp sucks they have the best bass and guitars out there ( Im saving for an American Series jazz)!!

Neved deal with them

Dont like it at all, really disapointmen, if it where stolen I will cry for my 269 bucks wich I will use to get something else , but over 60 watts.

This Fender is a very nice amp. You know how Fender always does a nice job with their equipment. It has an overworking 25 watts. Even though that doesn't seem a lot. It can blow you away. I play with my band down in the drummers basement, and it is just as good as you want it to be. It can make a very good beefy bass sound, or a really great trebley punk rock/slap sound. It has two inputs: high and low. It has one volume, bass, mid, and treble, a mute button, cd input, a headphone jack, and cd control volume. The back of it is absolutely amazing. If you have a recorder, and you don't want to mess with mics, you have line out and other great things. Go check it out at a nearby guitar store. But a great feature I found on a small amp like this is the ENHANCE button. It gives you great sound either way. You can use this in small venues. And if you're lucky, even big venues because most of them have PA's so you can just throw a mic in front of it and put it through their speakers. You can tilt it on it's angle to hear it better.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a great Ibanez Soundgear SR 300 DX (which I will review later) with both Jazz and Precision pickups. New fangled equipment. Anyway, I am in a punk rock band, and you know how annoying your lead guitar player can be with his distortion and such, you don't overpower it, because you don't want to, but you can hear yourself, very well. Since it doesn't have any distortion or reverb settings, it is a very clear amp. I use a Digitech BP200 (which I also will review) and it sounds great. I also use a limited edition Schecter Diamond Series Black Hawk on it with the pedal. As loud as I play it, which is pretty loud, I never got unwanted noise or feedback. Even in high-pitched solo's, I never ever ever got something i didn't want or expect. Not a lot of variety, you definitely need a bass pedal if you want variety. Get something by Digitech. $150 will get you a great little pedal. The clean channel never does anything except stay clean. You just have to watch your gain and such if you do have a pedal. Then it might get a little fuzzy, but not uncontrollably.

Reliability : 10
I would tour with this thing every minute of every day and never turn it off, and I wouldn't expect it to break. I always use this without a backup, but the band does have a cheap little 20W bass amp if anything goes wrong, we just use a pedal and it sounds normal. But we have never used it. It has never broken down yet, and i've had this for three or four years.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never needed to talk to them. The User's Manual is self-explainable, and I never needed service.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing all my life and I have gone through many amps and lots of equipment. You should see my bedroom. I have a nice Ampeq 30 watt tube and which is worth a whole lot of money now, but it's not being nice to me when I play loud. I have a 1985 Peavey TNT 115 but that is dieing. So this is all I have and all I need. If this was stolen or lost, I would track down the theif myself and break a guitar over his head. Probably a Squier since those are cheap and take a long time to break. Believe me, i know. I wish I had a big Fender 4x12" Cabinet to send the Bassman into, because I heard it sounds great.

The Bassman 25 is a nice simple combo amp, basic eq, volume, cd input, mute button, speaker out, etc...
This is my bedroom amp for bass and guitar, it works like a charm with both.
I only give the features a five since there really arent very many, but that's a good thing for this amp.

Sound Quality : 7
It can't handle a low-B, but for 25 watts and a ten inch speaker what should I expect? Beyond that this is a great sounding amp for what it is. Just for fun I decided to plug it into my big rig, and it actually ran the speakers, AWESOME!!

Reliability : 10
Three years worth of time in my bedroom with both guitar and bass, never a single problem.

Customer Support : 10
Never specifically with this amp but I have dealt with Fender CS before, and I have no idea what the people that complain about it are talking about. They are a bunch of great guys that tell dirty jokes as amp technology analogies. Tim is the greatest!!

Overall Rating : 8
I'd replace my 25 immediately if it was ever lost or stolen. It will receive a viking burial if it ever dies on me (highly unlikely, bass practice amps are built like tanks).

25 watts, solid state. Not a whole lot, but nice for such a small amp, bass, mid and treble eq, enhance switch which seems to "clean up" or soften the tone. Passive and active inputs as well as aux inputs and speaker cab output as well as some effects ont eh back which i have not tried. Nice tilt-back design lets it be heard muc better for its power and black metal grill looks cool.

Sound Quality : 9
I use an ibanez tr bass much like a fender P-bass, and it sounds damn good. I prefer not to use the enhance switch, which seems to turn down the volume slightly. Pretty straightforward rock sound, but i soppose you could use it for any musical style. It sounds great, but at 25 watts it isn't too loud, loud enough to maybe play in the garage with friends but not likely to be used onstage. You might try hooking up to an external cab, that might nmake it louder, havent tried it. By the way, plug your guitar into this thing and it will sound mor elike 100 watts. Low end sounds require more power to get the same volume, hence the bass will sound like normal practice bass volume, but a guitars higher frequencies take less power, so this thing is incredibly loud but somewhat dull sounding with a guitar. Very cleans sound, loud for bedroom or living room practice or jamming.

Reliability : 10
Built like a brick shithouse, you couldn't derstroy this thing. A great road amp for sure.

Never needed it yet...

THis is an excellent little bass amp, for the money I don't think you can do better than this, don't go below to the 15 watt or you'll probably be very dissapointed. If you want a solid practice/small small gig bass amp, or a very LOUD and brutal guitar amp, go for it!

Manufactured in 2001. The low wattage may discourage some people, but they 25 overachieving watts. This is an outstanding practice amp with its tiltback feature and input jack for a CD player. Headphone jack and mute switch come in handy because I practice at night. It could be a good gigging amp in a small venue and if your drummer is not a maniac.

Sound Quality : 8
I play a MIJ Fender P with 62 re-issue pickups, and a RIC 4003. Really sweet vintage tone. There is a switch that enhances and is supposedly geared for more "modern" tones. Amp is quiet. No distorition. EQ is fairly versatile. I do notice that it cuts (a "poofy" sound") out a little when I hit my E and A string too hard.

Reliability : 9
Very well constructed. Heavy. No vibrations. The black steel grill is snug and while I have only had it half a year, I think it is going to be very dependable. Five year warranty.

Haven't dealt with Fender.

I had a cheapy Dean Markley practice amp that was a POS and wanted something better for around $300. I tried the Ampeg 50 and 100Rs, their little SVT comnos, SWR's LA Series and Crate and felt that the Fender tone beat them hands down. I love the tiltback design and the sturdy construction. I have two Ampeg cabs for gigs and the strength of this Fender amp is a benefit because I can simulate the bigger sound when we play live.

The Fender Bassman 25
This amp was released in 2000, I think. I play mostly punk, some funk, mostly rock style music. Occasionally jazz. It's a totally versitile amp. I would reccomend it for anyone who plays bass or guitar. I play bass, guitar, and drums. It totally works for everything. It has one channel, EFX loops, headphone jack. It has an enhance mode. The enhance mode is the one thing I rarely use because i love a really raw tone. It is a combo amp, but mostly solid state. it has bass, mid, and treble settings. (8 ohms)

Sound Quality : 10
I play my fender fat stratocaster through it, along with a fender jazz bass. It can get the exact tonal options you want for your style. I occasionally screw around with different types of music, but it really suits all style of music perfectly. It is extremely loud with guitars, and not "kill your ears" loud with bass; but i can play at volue .75 with a guitar and it literally makes your ears ring. it's totally not what i expected for such a low wattage amp. it run a pastrami danelectro with distortion, it sonds really fat. it's so awesome.

Reliability : 10
it's so freakin' dependable. it got it the year it was released, i was amazed then, and i still am. i would totally use this in my gigs without a backup. with a guitar, anyways. it would be fine for a sm-med. sized gig with a bass. it's really powerfull with a guitar. with comming up on three years quite soon, it has never screwed up at all. it hasn't decreased in volume at all over the years, broken, or anything. i just don't through it, i usually keep it in a sedementary location, and it's fine. every so often i take a low power vacume hose and remove dust from the speaker when i open it up to get a good look at everything.

Customer Support : No Opinion
it has a five year warranty, but I never have had to contact the company....
you know why?
Because fender is awesome, it is easy to find help if you needed it though. not that I ever had to get help, at all.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been screwing around with my dads acoustic since i was like frickin' three. if anyone ever stole my amp (Count Homer) i would probobly cry, then like ten minutes later, go out and but the same one, or a model higher, but probly a 25 W bassman. i have compared this to some other amps, but it was too long ago to remember which brands, and/or what models. if you like a big, beefy tone for guitars, or something to totally whoop tooshy, get this amp.
