this amp kicks ass, bottom line, it doesn't come much better. I used to own a laney HCM, and stepped up to this fine piece of work. beautiful low round fat bass tones, and the boost section can give a mad growl. extremely versatile, from reggae to slap to rock to funk to jazz to big band, it takes it all. plenty of power to knock your socks off, plus the rock back design helps you hear yourself over noisy attention seeking guitarists ;-)

I have a Yamaha RBX270, which is pretty basic, but i run it through a Boss ME-50B pedal, and this amp makes my basic bass sound supreme. it does hum a bit, but it is loud enogh to cover that up. no distortion at high volumes, and if that happens, the -14 dB Pad is there. Quite simply (as G-K say) you can get the sound out of your head and into the audience

the 11 ply poplar casing makes it very strong, although the 16 gauge grille is a tad weak, there is a small dint from the courier, but it will always protect the speaker. GK is top range for a reason.

Never had to deal with them

I got it 1000 dollars cheaper and only 4 months old off ebay, but i would pay twice its price for such a beautiful amp. ive been playing for 4 years, in a few stage and big bands, and this amp will cover 20 brass instruments. SIMPLY THE BEST

This is a recent model Gallien-Krueger 400RBIII mounted with a GK 15" speaker. It is awesome! For my playing style, which goes from Thelonius Monk to Godsmack, it can handle it. The eq delivers pretty much any tone that I want. The only problem is that I can't get crappy tone out of it! So I can't really get a Tool-type tone out of it. The other features include a -10db pad, a tuning mute, DO, and a patch bay. The DO is EXTREMELY HOT!!!!! I suggest using a preamp or using a mic with this amp while recording. The power is sufficient enough to run a 15", and hopefully my 4x10 when I get it. It kicks ass!

With my Fender J-Bass, I am able to coax a wide variety of sounds out of this beast. The only problem with the sounds are the fact that I can't get crappy tone. GK actually added circuitry to handle a 5 string bass as well. Now, thats phatty! Also, when turned up loud, this can be a noisy amp with the treble all the way up. The kick-back design is cool too. So I can finally go deaf listening to myself, instead of my guitarists mesa stack....

Reliability : 10
I've only had it for a while, but I can tell that this amp was built to last. The 16 guage steel on the front must be kinda weak though... I fell on it once, so now the face of my amp is concave (long story....) So anyway, It's never really broken down. I could take it anywhere and depend on it to give me kick ass tone!

Well, I've been playing bass for a while now. Compared to all of the other amps I've played on, GK is probably one of the best. It's a great, wonderful, awesome amp. It's great for handling all types of sound. I chose this GK becuase it was the 1st one i sat on at the music store to play on. It made my butt vibrate more than any other amp that i sat on. So, GK kicks ass. I love this amp.
