This is a 2005 NEO 112 combo. It is versatile if your bass is... I play everything from pop to jazz fusion and it works just fine. Pretty complete for my needs.horus effect would be a nice addition,I think. I mainly use this with a 6-pc. original rock band(2 keys and 2 guitars!)and it does very well.

Sound Quality : 9
I use it with a G&L ASAT bass and a Fender Jazz. It is a quiet amp.It gets a very nice growl. The G&L tome is really starting to grow on me. I have to be careful with the G&L because the preamp on the bass is very hot,so adjusting the input level is important.I use the input pad on the amp but that cuts the amps level a bit. You can get a distortion/overdrive sound with the amp but that's not really my thing,so no comment there.I use the boost control just enought to get a warm tubey sound. I feel like I would really need an extention cab to take full advantage of the heads power although at 320/480 watts, it is loud by itself.

Reliability : 9
Seems very dependable and I would use it without a backup for sure.Bass players can use the P.A. if anything goes wrong!

I've dealt with them before(I bought a really old GK head a few years ago) and they were good, but I had a bit of a hard time getting in touch with them this time(for an owners manual) and played phone tag for a while.Overall good,I think.

For the money,I think GK amps are the best way to go. They are practical, well made and sound really good.I've been playing bass for a long time and after a while you get really tired of lugging heavy stuff around. This amp is a one hand carry, loud enough to gig with and sounds really good. I owned a 400RB IV combo and really liked it a lot but moved up to this amp for the extra power.
Again, although it's fine by itself, an ext. cab will help to push more air in a bigger room. I really liked the Eden Metro but it was way too heavy.
