Very simply put a 400 watt 8 ohm 4x10 Speaker cabinet with 1/4" output jack.Flat black metal grill, four casters, metal handles(one on each side). Black Carpet covering. That's it.

Sound Quality : 9
For NOT having a horn it is suprisingly bright in all the right ways. The ten inch speakers push the brightness instead. That's a good thing. one less part to go wrong for one thing. No ports. But this little fella doesn't need them. The sound is tight and punchy with just the right amout of brightness.GK seemed to go right down the middle with this cab.Not to big either. For what it's worth.I use a Markbass Little Mark II head and a 1x15 cab w/ tweeter(600 watts).I play a Warwick Streamer Pro M Bass & a Fender Precision w/Ash Body.

Reliability : 9
The moment I took it out of the box and tried to pick it up with the handles the handles felt awefuly flimsy.I don't trust them at all now.And the casters are a bit weak to.the cab itself is just insane!built like a tank.(and purrs like one too)I'm amazed at how well it's put together for such a low price. It's hard to beat this.I'm getting a 410GLX soon I was going to trade up to that. But this is a very good sounding cab.so I don't know.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed them Hope I never do.But have heard there aweful frindly and easy to deal with.:0)

Overall Rating : 9
It honestly is a hard cab to beat.It has a flat black metal grill,Black carpet covering,Black speakers.Sound is right down the middle. Not to bright,Muddy or ant other thing.Just right. Low maintainance,Cost.Lot of boom for the buck.If your not made of money this is a cab that would be a serious choice for you.Weather just starting out or benn around awhile.

Gallien-Krueger Backline 410 BLX-II. 4x10" speakers that pound out 400w @ 8 ohms. Not alot of features here, being that it's a simple bass cabinet. However, I bask in this cab's simplicity. The 10's in it are extremely punchy and produce great treble tones despite the absence of a tweeter to push the highs. The height and width are noticeably smaller than the average cabinet, but wow, does it BOOM!!! A mighty-mite bass cabinet for sure. I use this cab for different live venues, mainly clubs, bars, and outdoor places (I own 2 so I can have a full stack for the larger venues). My only gripe is about the casters. The ball bearings fell out and the wheels aren't as smooth as I'd like them to be. Were replace with Ernie Ball casters. But I digress, I'm here about the cab!!

Sound Quality : 9
I use a 5 string Warwick Corvette FNA Jazzman, 4 string Warwick Corvette FNA, 5 string MIM Fender Jazz bass w/ fretless Warmoth neck and Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups, and 4 string MIM Fender Precision bass w/ EMG Select P/J pickups and Kahler bass tremolo, so I need a cab that can sound good with all the different tonal variations I have with these basses, and the Backline 410 is definitely up to the task. I play alot of rock, blues, and funk, and some country, and it's punchiness is great in any genre I may play. The sound is unbelievable for a cabinet of it's size and price range.

Reliability : 9
It is definitely a very reliable cabinet. I've only owned both cabs for nearly 2 years, but both have had their shares of various items crashing down on them, fluids spilled on them, idiot bassplayers (me!) kicking their heels into them and one unfortunate case of falling down the steps (owch!). And even after all the abuse, they still pump out the jams, no sweat! Haven't had to had any of the speakers replaced or repaired at all yet. And to no fault of the cabinet itself, but to all the fault of Mr. Murphy, I always have a backup: bass, cab, guitar stand, strap, you name it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Fortunately, I haven't had to have my cabs serviced and haven't yet had to call up GK's customer service desk with a question or concern yet, so I can't comment here just yet.

I've been playing the electric bass for going on 8 years, been playing in bands for 6. Other gear that I own include a Hartke HA3500 bass head that I use in conjunction with a Rane PE15 parametric EQ to round out my main rig, and also a Hartke 2155 combo amp for those small gigs. If my GK's were lost or stolen, I would totally shell out some more dough for them. It's hard to come by this much quality for so little of a price! I've compared it to Peavey bass cabs, and sound-wise, was still drawn to the GK cabs, and was especially grateful for the fact that the GK's were so much smaller and lighter than the Peaveys at even a fraction of the price.

Unfortunately only one input in the back and no ohm adjustment but that can be done through the amp

Sound Quality : 10
I bought this amp with confidence after playing it for nearly 30 min. This cab is VERY punchy and handles the push very well with the backline 600 amp head. Of course the sound is going to be determined by the amp so that is why I chose a decent head to go with this cab. Eventually I will get the 15" and it will definitely be a really completed sound.

Reliability : 10
As far as I see it, this cab is very well built with caster wheels and the handles. I have not experienced any problems with either parts of the hardware. I have been aware of the handles to be weak, i'm not experiencing that and really don't abuse the amp so it has alot to do with your respect towards it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have not had to call customer support and hope not to, but if having to I have heard they are pleasant to deal with

First off, i bought this box because the price was right and it was smaller than most 410's, due to a lack of a horn or port. the grill was sturdy and it came with casters.... i dont like the look of the grill though, i took it off and repainted it powder black. it looks much better to me.

Sound Quality : 9
I wasnt expecting a $3000 sound, all i wanted it to do was to be punchy, compact and inexpensive. i got all 3, due to the lack of a port, it was punchier than most and resonates well in the smaller venues. i dont need a horn or bullet either as most bass gear runs a DI line to the house anyway, my Ampeg handles all the tone i need for the mains, i just need to hear it onstage in my 10 to 20 foot area and i hear it fine. one thing i like is that it gives good readback on my B string on its own against a slammin' drummer...i bought 2 of these things so far.

Reliability : 6
the box alone is great so far, ive been using it for almost a year now. the problems come with the hardware...most notably the flip-up handles, when we lifted it up, either onto the stage or the truck, not sure which...but it was the first gig with it, the handles overextended under the weight and lifted up the metal bracket that was meant to stop it (from overextending no less), now i have this sharp metal part sticking out on both sides. not the end of the world though. but its the sound im mostly concerned with and im happy with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never needed to call them, thats a good thing.

Overall Rating : 8
Its a sturdy little box, the hardware is flimsy and the grill is butt-ugly...a new paint job helped that. the casters roll smoothly over rough parking lots. the tone is good and punchy and has been reliable so far. if i lost the cabinet, i would probably get another one, unless i found something better within the same parameters of my needs. overall its a good little box, fits into the front seat of most cars fine too, you probably would like to know that.

Well, it's a speaker cabinet, so we're really not talking rocket science features here. Bass cabinet with four 10" speakers, 8-ohms, 400 watts. Some, many perhaps, will not be interested in this cabinet because it does not have a horn. That is a plus to me, as horns in a bass cab are a waste of money for my personal use. I have always turned the control to the "off" position in my SWR cabinets (Triad and Goliath 2x10). Also, many prefer ported cabinets, and this cabinet is not ported. Again, that is a plus to me for my straight-ahead rock style. I think the notes are more balanced and tight in a 4x10 without a port. Ports can cause the "E" string to be too muddy in my experience, and overpower the other strings. I like a tight, well defined low end. So, lack of some features on this cab is a big feature for me, if that makes sense. The cabinet seems very well built, and comes with removable casters, a huge bonus on a 70-pound cabinet. The metal grill seems sturdy and beefier than most.

Sound Quality : 9
This cabinet sounds great with a wide array of basses and amps. I won't go into detail, but I was very pleased with how the cabinet maintained a hearty tone with various gear combinations. My style is in the vein of AC/DC, Cheap Trick (I have two Hamer 12-string basses), Led Zep. I mainly bought this cab to use with my old GK RB400 (one of my favorite amps of all time), which I used to use with an old GK 4x10. Granted, it was 10 years ago, but I can't help but think that this new GK 4x10 has more low end than the cabinet I used to have. I fairly sure it's a bit larger and deeper, and is definitely heavier, so I am pretty confident in that tone assessment. I'm also sure I prefer a 4x10 with the RB400 for larger gigs over 15s. I was using a Goliath 2x12 for small stuff, and wanted a beefier cab for bigger rooms. This GK 4x10 if performing nicely.

Reliability : 10
Seems very well built. I've owned and own other GK gear with no problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Since I've never had a problem with GK gear, I really can't comment on their customer support.

Overall Rating : 9
For the money, it appears this cabinet may be hard to beat, or even with cabinets costing more. I'm a big GK fan, so maybe I am biased, but this cabinet just seems like a great value. The only negative is that red "Backline" logo on the metal grill cover. It's just awful, and once out of warranty I will definitely be visiting my local hardware store for some spraypaint.

I play this cabinet through an Ampeg SVT3 PRO head, puts out 275 watts at 8 ohms. I use this cabinet with various basses; a Standard Fender Jazz Bass w/Fender Custom Shop 60's pickups, and Ernie Ball Power Slinky strings, also a '63 Reissue Fender P-bass, with a Seymour Duncan 1/4 Pounder Basslines pickup and Power Slinky's, and also a Asline Dane AMB-200 (passive Music Man copy) Each one sounds amazing through this cab! I was not expecting much, but mainly purchased this because I wanted a cheap 4x10 for practice, I get tired of hauling around an SVT810E. The sound of the Backline 410BLX reminds me of the SVT810E, because the Backline also has no horn and no ports like the 810E. I like the tight punchy mids, deep lows (suprisingly deep for no ports) and clearly defined highs. I personally like highs coming through subwoofers instead of seperate horns and tweeters...just my preference though. I've pushed this cab quite alot, never had any distortion from the subwoofers, always sounds great, surprising amount of headroom for a 4x10. I play rock; punk, hardcore, emo, emocore, heavy metal, alt etc. Everything and anything I put through this cab sounds awesome.

Reliability : 10
I've had this cab for a little over six months. I practice at various friends houses two to three times a week and I've played a couple small coffee house gigs with this. It's held up very, very well for being moved three times a week, in and out of an SUV and up and down stairs. THIS THING IS ROCK SOLID!!! The metal grille is very durable, I've actual kicked it ALOT and it's never bent, broke or even scratched. The carpet looks great and has shown no signs of wear. I couldn't be more pleased. Not too heavy either, only 70lbs, compared to 90+ lbs for an Ampeg or Trace Elliot. I can lift this thing in and out of my Pathfinder by myself and I'm skinny. The spring loaded side handles are AWESOME, very durable!!!

Customer Support : 10
I've called GK many times, in fact, I've called them so much that their product support reps have gotten to know my voice. They are always extremely friendly with my constant questions about their different cabs, materials, etc. I've asked just about every question you could think of. Reps are always great to deal with! I believe this cab comes with a 2 year warranty, but I can't imagine I'd need it.

Overall Rating : 10
I will prefaces by saying this; I have not been playing for 500 years, I don't care about "slapping", "popping", or country music or funk, etc. I have no idea who Victor Wooten is and I could care less, blah, blah. I like playing hard rock, plain and simple, every kind of rock. I've been playing for about 4 years. However, I will say this, I tried EVERY 4x10 cab before I purchased this thing. I tried Trace Elliot, Genz Benz, Ampeg, SWR, Hartke, Fender, Aguilar, Peavey, Eden, Ashdown... you name it. Tried 'em all! The Backline 410BLX was outstanding. You will not find a better buy than this, go try one... you'll see what I mean!
