John Lindsey of Vernon Park Church. Chicago.
I just brought this amp used to go with my EDEN D210XLT bass cabinet. It is wonderful and sweet, not a lot of power but it's great for the church i play at. The church seating is a little of 1000 members. I run the unit through the system and it's perfect. If i upgrade it will be the GENZ-BENZ shuttle 600. Also the putting a 15inch speaker on this head is awesome fat lows.

Made in 1998. This is the first amp head made by Genz-Benz. It's simplicity with a twist. I used to play funk and indy rock. Now I play Nu Metal and Heavier stuff. This amp has been a dream for both styles of music. Features include...
Effects send and return
separate balance XLR channel output with Post/Pre options
Tuner out
Active and Passive inputs
12AX7 tube preamp side by side with solid state
Unique Tone shaping option with Tube Saturation and Harmonics for compression
LED clipping both pre and post
Automatic overheating shutoff (never overheated)
the only thing I wish is that this amp had a little more power. I run in through an 8ohm 4X10 cab and it just barely comes through agianst two Mesa Half Stacks. But that says a lot for running 175 watts at 8ohms and 250 watts at 4 ohms.

I use both a highway 1 American Precision Bass and a Schecter Stilleto Custom 5 string. This amp really brings out the personalities of these two basses. I can dial in the almost exact sound of my Ampeg SVT4 Pro and a fender bassman. No problem! In fact I find I can get a Lo mid with more punch than the bassman... and better tone too!
When I play metal the lo end is chest caving especially through my 4X10 cab.
Noise? What noise? Playing at full volume, if you stop you can almost hear the sound of the fan running.
When you want clean, you get clean even at high volume. If you want dirty, you can get super saturation, crunchy, fuzzy, or just a touch of overdrive to make your bass stand out.
I really can't say enough about the sound quality. It creates tone and shape comparable to a $1000 dollar Ampeg. Damn, you just have to hear it for yourself.

I've used my GBE 250C semi proffesionally for three years through over 50 live shows. It has never overheated and it has never blown a tube. My I can't say the same thing about my Ampeg. I've replaced 5 tubes in the 10 years I've owned it and it HAS overheated!

I've played bass semi profesionally for over ten years. I own an Ampeg SVT4 Pro, Ampeg 4X10 cab, Fender Precision highway1 bass, Schecter Stileto custom 5 string bass and now a boss GT 6B. If it were stolen, I would probably buy the GBE 400 as it has a little bit more power but I would definately stick with Genz Benz. What I love about it? It keeps pace with the tone of my Ampeg. What I hate about it? I can't think of a darn thing. I almost bought an SWR workingman's bass amp when I purchased the GBE 250. The SWR just sounded fake... like cardboard.
Genz really did it right with this amp. I still can't believe how inexpensive it was. I can see Genz Benz leading the bass amplifier industry in the next ten years.
