Genz Benz 6.0 Shuttle

New Genz Benz 6.0 Shuttle purchased at Guitar Center in 2009. 375 watt @ 8 ohms, 600 @ 4 ohms. Very compact only weighs 3.75 ppunds. Has a tube preamp adjustable for volume and gain, active parametric equalization and seperate tone shaping with mid scoop, lo and hi boost. There is also a mute switch, seperate tuner out and effects loop. Very simple controls in a small convenient package.

I play a Warwick Katana V neck through fron the Warwick Custom Shop and a Pedulla Pentabuzz. My most recent amp was a GK1001RB, which failed after about a year and a half of pretty gentle use. I believe this amp sounds better than any other I have owned. The tone shaping is very simple, a little adjustment alters things a lot, but I usually run with the EQ flat. This thing really brings out the natural sounds of your instrument. Very clean and articulate yet it is possible to get some nice meaty tone out of it as well. More headroom than you can believe for a package this size. I use two GK NEO cabs, one 2x12 and one 1x12. I believe with this head and my one smaller cab I could handle pretty much any room I have played in locally. I play in a jazz fusion rock quartet, this matches our stuff quite well.

When my 1001RB bit the dust, I did a lot of product research, and I put a lot of stock in reading what others are saying about a product. I could find no bad reviews about this amp, and all I can say is believe these. I took home an Ampeg before I purchased this, Sorry, no comparison, and all I can say is the people at Genz Benz have turned out something pretty special here. I believe other people who make bass amps should be paying attention, because if players really get turned on to these it will be a hard product to compete with. I have played for over thirty five years, and I have not been this excited about a piece of gear in a long time. Try one out, for the money I don't think you can do better.
