I tried this out at the shop with a variety of active and passive 4 and 5 string basses and was so impressed with the quality of the tone that I brought the amp home.
This amp does an excellent job of handling the low B on the 5 string. I've had other small (10-20 watt) practice amps and none have been able to produce anything on the B string that didn't sound like a pot inside of a bucket.
The tone is clear and round from this amp. Very natural sounding. It faithfully reproduces the B string. If you have an opportunity to play one, do it.

It's a brand new amp but seems put together well. The music shop I go to has great service though.

I've been playing for 5 years. I've got a Peavey Firebass 700, 4x10 cab, 2x10 cab, a couple guitar amps, and a number of basses and guitars.
I'd get another one of these if it was lost or stolen.
The tone is great on this practice amp.
I have a Squier BP-15, used to have a Fender Sidekick 15B, and have played through the small Peavey amp. This thing totally blows the competetion away.
