This model is now discontinued and replaced by the GBE-750. It has more than enough versatility for any style from Jazz to Reggae to Dub. and everything in between. Has a very effective EQ And two Pre Amp channels Tube And Fet(solid state) And you can mix them. The Tube channel has a gain and vol and the solid state only Vol. It also has an effects loop but it is not switchable so it is constantly on. Wish it had effects switching on/off. Every feature on this amp is useable and functions very well. I use this amp mostly at home and practice for now. But have used it in a large place before and it had no problem volume wise.

I use this amp with many different basses Fender MIA Jazz Factory Pickups, MIM P-Bass With Nordstrand Pickup, Epiphone Les Paul Deluxe with Mud Buckers, Fender MIM Deluxe Zone bass P & J Pickups, Peavey T-40 With the stock Pickups. The amp suits any style of music I decide to play with very little adjusting. It is very quiet as far as making any noise on its own. This amp acn do anything from clean clear Jazz To Dub and anything in between. The pre amp can be overdriven with too hot of a signal as any amp but it does have an active pad switch. As far as distortion when you crank the tube gainti does give some mild distortion but sounds like tube distortion not clipping. I traded My Mesa Boogie M-2000 for this amp and I have not once Wished I had the Mesa Back. This amp can do any sound tone I want and with very little tweeking usually leave the EQ set flat.

I have not had this very long but it works great and I have not ever heard anything negative about Genz-Benz Customer service, In fact I e-mailed them a question and Jeff Genzler (I think I spelled that right) Himself answered me. Sounds like great customer support to me.I would not hesitate to use it without a backup.

I have been playing for 3 Years, I also own Bregantino NV 215, Mesa Boogie 400+, Sunn 300T,Mesa Boogie Diesel 215,Peavey FireBass 700II, Peavey TX 810, Peavey TVX 412 And an Avatar Neo 112. If it were lost or stolen I would replace it with the current model. The thing I like most about this amp is you can get almost any sound you want by pushing a button or two you don't even have to turn a knob.I have compared it with all the above amps and it drives and controls all of my cabs better than any of the others. But each has its uses. I wish it had come with the 4 button switch instead of it having bben an option. This is a very versatile amp, Very minor adjustments of the EQ make big changes and Make this amp so versatile.
