Genz Benz GBE250C 2x10

Bought this amp brand new from a local music store. Not only do I think its a great buy, but many friends (and random people at gigs) have complimented me on looks sound and impact! It has an active input and passive input, to better conform to a variaty of basses, has tuner output, effects loop, but no headphone jack(too bad). I use this amp at home to practice with, and have taken it to quiet a few gigs, the gigs are all around 50-100 people, and it impresses them mightily! It stands up to a 100 watt keyboard amp, 100(150 and sometimes more) watt guitar amp, a loud drummer, and doesnt distort or clip. I play a variety of rock genre's, but mostly prog rock. with the onboard harmonics and saturation controlls I can really pump out "the national anthem" by radiohead! all praise colin greenwood! Need an amp for recording??? this is it! it also comes with a direct out box built in! ive never used it, but according to various sound guys(techs) it is an amazing option! This amp is made to play your bass's sound, since this is its upside, there is also the short downside of not having much versatility... such as waveforms, parametric eq, chorus, reverb, BUT most amps that carry that crap arnt as good of amps as they could be! just buy an effect pedal or rack mount for what you need, and this thing will blow away all compitition!

Im using a passive Ibanez with p style pickups.. If you play any sort of mellow rock, buy this amp now. If you play hard rock or funk or something, id recomend the 2x10. For my purposes, its amazing. distortion hasnt been a problem.

I hate to say this, but about a week after i bought it a knob came loose, i though the amp was going to fall apart right then and there... but after i tighetened the knob back on, its stayed in perfect condition for 1 year IT IS ROCK HARD... ive JUMPED on it, and OFF of it, It didnt even move! its pretty heavy at 85 pounds, but hey, with 2 guys its a piece of cake! i take it by myself all the time and im a scrawnish guy!

Im pretty sure it has a year or 2 year warrenty, but who needs it!? besides from that minor problem, this amp has taken quite a beating and came out strong!!!

If it were stolen or lost, i would buy another genz benz product, its a great amp, but genz has some better stuff. it outclasses all amps in its pricerange, and belive me i looked!!! 15+ music stores, lots of traveling, 50+ products tested! BUY GENZ!!!

This combo has all the features needed and then some, active input - passive inputs and more very controlable sound

This amp can have a very clean sound or a distortion sound from the tube gain.VERY punchy but could use more bottom,sound is in the ear of the beholder.I am buying a Genz Benz 15" cab to go with this amp

I havent had it long enough to form a opinion about this,but very well built I suspect years of no trouble,construction is top shelf.I can crank this amp with my J-bass Deluxe "active" and theres no buzzing or rattling from combo,just my teeth

I have been playing bass for 20yrs and use Fender P-bass DLX and a J-bass DLX made in usa and a 62 jazz and a Ric 4001.
Have been using a Galien Krueger Amp
