This combo has a four band eq. Active or passive input, just plug it in. Has headphone jack and can also be played with a CD. The speaker grill is heavy duty and puts out 50 watts.

I play a Squier Affinity P-Bass with upgraded electronics. This combo has a very clean sound, and at higher volumes does not become very noisy. I have the eq pretty much set flat, just boost the low a little bit. The eq can vary the sound a lot if you like to do a lot of tweaking. Usually played around the nine to twelve oclock position on the volume without any distortion. That's just as loud as I need but it still has lots of headroom.

Bought in Oct. of '02. Haven't had any breakdowns. I only play at home but this amp is built rugged. The knobs are tight and precise. Lots of other amps are not that way. I would take this amp anywhere without worry of failure.

I have dealt with the company by email. Questions were answered the same day in great detail. Jeff Genzler even took the time to respond to a question which says a lot in today's world. I got the impression they really want to have a satisfied customer. This combo has a three year limited warranty that is transferable. I'm pretty sure all their products do. This mean't a lot to me for the long haul.

I've been playing almost two years come March and loving every minute of it. This combo was purchased for serving the purpose of a great practice amp; and I feel I succeeded. If it was stolen, I would get another one just like it without a doubt. I wanted a simple amp with great sound, tone, whatever you want to call it, not many features if any. I tried out Fender, SWR, Peavey, Hartke, but for the sound mainly and the money this "Intro 50" won. After using it for 4 months, I don't hate anything about this combo. I try to play an hour a day, so that should give you some estimate of how much it's played. If I ever need another amp or combo for playing with a band I will go with Genz-Benz products.

Combo bass amp. 50 Watts into a 12inch woofer and tweeter mounted in a dual ported cab. Its got a 4 band EQ and ins and outs and I forget what they all do, ask if you really want to know. I use this for the Jazz Band at college with my Ibanez EX series passive bass. Absolutely great sound. I haven't heard anything better, even some of the larger GB stacks can't compare. I also use it for other styles including effects-laden techno funk bass, and it sounds great with my Ibanez RG 270DX. A great warm sounding amp and you can't argue against its versatility.

As I said above, probably should have written it here. Great sounds, beautiful warm Jazzy styles to my heavy effects using either guitar or bass. It does like to distort a bit when you crank it, but I haven't had any trouble after getting it back from repairs (see below)

The amp started to give me some trouble about 4-6 months after I bought it. The sound would 'cut out' like there was a bad wire. It would happen if I played a loud low note or if the bass drum kick pedal was too heavy. I took it back to the Bass Place in Tempe, AZ (great store, excellent staff) and from there it went to the GB factory in Scottsdale, AZ. After the second time, the problem seems to have been solved. Therefore I give it a 7 for reliablity, it seems to be an isolated incident and it appears to have been fixed.

There is not a number high enough on this scale to honor the Customer Service dept. at Genz Benz. We all fear having to deal with a CS dept, but these guys were awesome and really tried to help me. the second time they repaired it, they got in direct contact with me to get to the root of the problem. They even gave me a loaner (GB M Line 135 Watt 12" tilt back design) at no charge while they repaired the Intro 50. Even the repairs were under warranty. Again, these guys are the best. They did everything they could to solve the problem as quickly as possible. They deserve infinitely higher than a 10.

I bought this amp for playing Jazz bass, and it is marvelous. I've played jazz, punk/ska, techno, funk, latin/salsa, and metal (to name a few) through this amp. As an added bonus, it works extremely well with effects and guitar. The combo is also really compact, fitting well in the back of my sports car for travel and in my dorm room. The customer service dept is the best I've ever dealt with. I will definitely look into Genz Benz equipment when I upgrade this summer. I highly recommend looking into GB amps and cabs for any level of player, the quality for the price is unbeatable in all levels both guitar and bass, from the Intro models to the high end pro level equipment. This gets a well deserved 10!!!
