Everything I need. Check the specs at Genz-Benz website.

I mostly use the tube gain control to shape my sound. For more mellow styles, turn down the gain, for more dirty rock stuff, turn it up! Then depending on the room, adjust the EQ. The EQ is especially effective, and the variable mid-freq is a good plus for fine-tuning. Personally I have no use for the signal shape buttons.

Volume-wise this has been sufficient for my needs, that is, clubs and bars with about 100-200 people. Enough volume without PA-support. I first considered getting an extra cab to go along, but after playing a couple of my usual gigs, felt like it was unnecessary.

Mute button is also very useful for tuning. I don't have the extra pedal, and don't miss it. I can just as easily press the mute button on the amp.

Oh yeah, this thing is about the size and weight of a small microwave oven. For the first time ever, I'm able to carry all my bass stuff in one go by myself to the stage (including the combo, two basses and bass stands).

The clarity is almost unbelievable! It seems like the band actually hears what I play for the first time with this amp :) I've played some songs in a certain way (chords, harmonies etc.) for a long time before I got this, nobody just noticed them before...

I think most of the clarity is due to the excellent mids.

It does not quite have the low-end that my 1x15" + 4x10" stack had, but I don't really miss that. I still can play things below E on my 5-strings and get the message through without the amp bottoming out. And my fretless really gets its mwah heard with this thing.

I don't slap, so I keep the tweeter turned off always. I play stuff in the pop-oldies-rock-disco-metal-whatever range.

I really love the tube distortion when the gain is all turned up.

Don't know yet, had it only for about six months. No problem so far.

Don't know.

It is a tad expensive. No complains on anything else than the price! If it was lost or stolen, I wouldn't care to consider any other replacement than the same thing.

What a beaut?!!! Less than 5 lbs - Versatile sound - I use it with my Avatar 2 12" and it's very good for small to medium venues - I also play with a 19 piece big band. I've had only one instance at a very big dance hall where it couldn't compete with the size of the venue. The cabonet is extra light also - paired with this amp - I get a real nice punched sound that cuts through 14 horns - no idle task. I would buy it again in a heart beat.

I use a custom made CB bass - 4 strings - Big band music - swing - Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and Ialso play funk, jazz and gospel in a smaller venue. Has a nice mid-range scoop for slapping and a bass boost that I always leave on. A mute switch and a tuner out for silent tuning. Send and Return effects on the back.

Reliability : 8
Dependable - I just have to size up the venue I'm working but it's handled 99% of every place I've played.

Hasn't broken down yet - Genz-Benz - real friendly staff and will answer any questions you have.

Been playing 30 years. I also own a Hartke Amp with a Hartke bottom - 2 15" speakers. Several Fender Basses and a Gibson Les Paul Triumph Bass.

I would buy it again but I wish they'd make one with a few extra Watts - RMS.

Can't beat this baby!!! Pushes out 375 watts on its own or 600 with added cab. Lightweight, no problem to throw it in your car and go, no problem to pack up a flight of stairs, no need to ask band members to help with refrigerator size stacks. Actually a hybrid amp, as it has a tube preamp. Love the fact the horn can be dialed in or completely out from knob on back of cab. For the style music my band plays I sometimes don't want the sound of the horn, however this one makes no scratching hum like others I've heard even when dialed up.

I play a Warwick Rockbass Corvette and a Fender Mustang and this amp produces AWESOME tone, whether it be low end mellow to bright slap style, this amp never fails on clarity and punch! I can't see a need for any other cab unless playing stadiums. This thing is amazing, I ordered it expecting it to be too thin given it's size and figured I would be returning it but NO WAY, this guy is a keeper. I've always been a die hard Ampeg fan, but all that's changed now.

haven't had long enough to find out

Haven't had to deal with

Love everything about it, if it were stolen I would definitely buy this again. I've played fender bass amps, Ampegs etc and the Genz Benz beats em all. Can't buy a better amp for the money and the weight!

I bought this amp/speaker combo in May 2008 and am thrilled with the sound, power and portability. I have never played through a better sounding amp of any size; yet this thing is so small and lightweight that carrying it is a breeze. I never dreamed this was possible back in the day when I lugged my 18" black widow cabinet, Hartke 4x10 and various power amps and pre-amps to get the right sound for my 5-string Tobias. This little amp blows them away for both clarity and punch and has all the features I need. I love the DI output and shape modelling

Sound Quality : 10
Fantastic sound on all my basses. From the Pre-Gibson Tobias to the 70's Gibson EB-O; this amp sounds great. No distortion at club levels.

Too new to tell.

Never needed.

I have been playing bass for 30 years and have had many amps including Traynor, Peavey, Yamaha, Ibanez, Hartke and have played through many many more. This is my favorite; and 600 watts at under 5 pounds?? Unbelievable power.

I considered getting just the amp and a separate Bergantino speaker but the sound from the Genz-Benz speaker was, to my ear, equivalent to the Bergantino

This is a new model. The head weighs 3 3/4 lbs., the whole rig 32 lbs. The amp has a tube pre-amp; bass, mid, mid sweep, and treble
controls and three tone shape controls---one for a mid cut, one for a bass boost, and one for a treble boost. The preamp has gain and volume controls, and there is a master volume. There is a fully featured line-out on the back. Two Neutrik output jacks are present.
The amp is 375 watts into 8 ohms, 600 watts into 4 ohms. I play blues and blues rock, often loud and with two guitar players, and this little monster can hold its own---and with incredible clarity and tone.
The cab has a 12 with a Neodymium magnet plus a tweeter, with a tweeter control on the back; this is the same speaker used in GB's incredible NeoX cabs.
This amp is incredibly loud by itself. I tried the head through a NeoX212T cab with outstanding results.
My only quibble with this rig is the cable from speaker to head hanging out the top of the cab; a jack on the cab and a separate cable would have been preferable.
The amp is attached to the cab by two brackets with setscrews, so is easily removable.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Sukop five-string, and this amp handles the low B well. It is
quiet, and the tone controls work very well to give you whatever sound you might want. This amp handles a medium-sized bar by itself.

Reliability : No Opinion
Too new to really know, but kicking this amp for three hours does not even make it feel warm. Based on my other GB products, I would be very surprised if I had a problem.

Customer Support : 10
The warranty is three years.
Any questions I have asked per Email or phone have been answered promptly. I own several GB products, and have never needed a repair.

Overall Rating : 10
I would replace this in a heartbeat. The punch to pound ratio of this little amp is unbelievable, and the tone is great. I have been playing for 38 years; at this point in my life an easily portable amp is welcome, and this one provides portability without tone or volume sacrifice. The only thing I want to add is a one 12" extension
cabinet, and one is due for production in July; the addition of a second 12" will give this rig the ability to cover almost any venue.
This amp is not inexpensive, but is worth the money.
