An all tube amp with 3x 12AX7/ECC83 tubes in preamp stage and 2x KT88 in power amp stage.
This one was made in 2001. It used to be a 50kg heavy combo, so I decided to separate the amp and speaker cabinet. Now I use the head usually with some other cabinet.
I play funky stuff, mostly fingering, but even tried slapping and plectrum.

It has one channel, a 3band EQ, presence knob (adds very high frequencies), both gain and volume control, effect loop control and a knob called Balls.
The ouptuts are 2x 8ohm speaker, balabced line out (directly from the power amp) and a preamp out. No headphone jack.

This amp is 70W, which is too low for the most of bass players. I wish I could easily add some power to it, beause I really like the sound.

sum: all tube, heavy, low power output, good tone shaping, produces soud I like

Sound Quality : 10
I play basses with active electronics and 3 humbuckers, fretted and fretless. They both sound great through this amp. It just increases the volume and ads that tube sound I like. The character of my instruments remains untouched, meaning good bassg - good sound. I dont even have to use shaping controls, just plug n play.

As described above, the EQ is just as I expected it to be - very simple and just good. The presence konb - dont almost use it - adds too high frequencies for me:-)
When treating an all tube amp, even gain and master (volume) have a massive impact on the tone. I had to learn how to use them for a while.
The Balls konb - a very cool feature. It is not a simple EQ, it is a separate preamp, that somehow adds gain only for frequencies from about 200 to 800 Hz. You can hear the effect better when playing with a band. It makes the bass quite tight and helps to support the right frequencies in a band. It also helps to compress the bottom, so it sound boomy but still tight.

overall, the amp is very silent (no noise - except from bad tubes), it produces sound, that fits in a band. I even use it to power up a keyboard and vocal sometimes. It handles even these sources with ease.

Reliability : 10
The construction is very sturdy (and thus heavy). Never had a problem so far

Customer Support : 8
Customer support was quite good, they answered all my questions I emailed them.
The manual is unsatisfactory, has mistakes in it.

Overall Rating : 7
I own this amp for about 2 years. I makes the sound I like and fits in the band. The sound is just Great.
It is heavy, and large and Id love much more it, if it had more power.

I rate it lower, because I also didnt like, that it used to be a combo - very difficult to transport.

I wouldnt buy it again, Id rather buy George Denniss higher model with enough power, that would be a killer sound for me!
