Standard 100+ pound, 2-15", no tweeter cabinet. I was told the cabinet was purchased new in 2002 from Sam Ash in Nashville (which is where I picked it up). It has one damn input which is hard to get to if the cabinet is close to the wall, but I really can't deduct points for that because my amp has another 1/4" jack for another speaker (like the 2.5 XL I run with this cabinet). Since I can't hold the one-jack against it, I'll still give it a "10".

Ahhh.....the sound... : ) The sound is the reason I bought this cabinet. I gigged with it using my Ampeg (my all-time favorite amp) V4BH head, which has 100-watts of pure tube power, and no other cabinet. The sound was simply awesome. I have never had people come up to me and tell me how "smooth" the bass sounded, until I played with this thing. And with only a 100-watt amp power it, this thing will peal the paint off the walls!!! I played a couple of practices with it using a Hartke 2.5 XL (two 10"s and a tweeter) and my Peavey Firebass 700 running both cabinets at 2.8 ohms. The sound was so heavenly you could actually hear the angles... I'll give it a "12" on a "10-scale" for sound.

Never had, nor ever expect to have a problem. This is the reason I've played thru Hartkes since 1987. I own four of their cabinets. Not one single problem.

I've been playing music, bass in particular since 1976 (I'm 45 years old). I own way too much gear to list, but my main bass rigs (two independent rigs) for concert level shows is as follows: Rig #1 - Peavey Firebass 700 head powering the Hartke 215XL and a 2.5KL cabint. Rig #2 - Ampeg V4BH 100-watt head powering a Hartke VX410 and VX115 bottom. I like the paper cones with the tube head, and the solid state head with the aluminum cone drivers. I split the sound to the two amps with a stereo chorus. Overall rating for this cabinet is an honest "12" on a "10-scale". If it were stolen, I'd track the idiot down and blast his ass into infinity.

This is a very straight forward 2000 era 215 cab rated 400 watts @ 4 ohms. Dissapointing that it's carpeted with plastic corners, though the "shockproof" metal grill compensates. The recessed carry handles are the nice fold out kind which makes the act of lifting this very balanced 110 pound cabinet as comfortable and easy as it could be.
This cabinet's beauty lies in it's simplicity. This is the only sweet sounding 215 cab you'll find without a stupid horn (new cab anyway). This is also the only 215 with all front ports. These two things sold me this amp right away.
It's an xl series Hartke amp so it's loaded with the signature aluminum drivers which manage to stay punchy and clean while really pushing some air. I already want another one. Visit hartke's website for legitimate specs.
My biggest problem with this cabinet is the carpet. I don't like the idea of my amp being a giant beer/vomit sponge at a house party or a small show. It makes this little box a pretty big eye sore, too especially with all the unecessary plastic brand name junk pasted to the grill. Regardless, the looks are compensated by the sound.
Mine's had casters installed which makes it one-man moveable. I'm thrilled at how light this cabinet is after owning a V4 215 and a 70's Sunn 215. This cabinet also sounds a lot better. I play rock and it does the task well.

I've been feeding this cabinet a stock '75 jazz signal through a tube Sunn. I a/b'd the cab with a couple GK, Hartke, Ampeg, and SWR heads when I bought it and it recieved them all very decently. I think this cabinet actually prefers a solid state head.
My set up sounds great, but it's missing that really crystal clear powerhouse low end this cab is capable of. What I do get is great for rock however and my bandmates love my tone.

I've been playing bass for 13 years and have gone through a good amount of gear. This is one of my favorite pieces I've picked up.
This is a workhorse, no nonsense, great sounding 215. If I were to use it in combination, I'd probably buy another of the same.

Brand-spankin' new. Big ass 2x15 aluminum cone cabinet. about 100 or so pounds, carpet, staking corners, fold out handles, and single 1/4" input. this is alot deeper than my pop's sunn 2x15 and the sound shows. One major problem- NO FREAKING CASTERS!!!!! What the f**k! you have a 100+ pound cab, and don't even offer casters, wheels, whatever. Not that big a deal I slapped some on in short order, but still- What the f**k!? they also don't offer covers but I'm takin' care of that one too (now I know why I got my wife that heavy duty sewing machine for Christmas last year). Buggs me a little that there's only one 1/4" input with no speakon or anything else, but then again, I don't really need it. I gotta drop it to a 6 for the no casters thing

This is why i bought this cabinet. I play a 4string with the lower 4 of a 5 string set (b,e,a,d) so I need low end. This cabinet provides enough lows to shake my pants and tingle my balls at a good 10-15 feet. I use it with the 7000 head and a 2.5xl cab for highs, which is one thing this cab lacks on it's own. But then again they do call it a 215 SUB module, so I can't mark off for that.

too new, haven't gigged with it, but it has withstood my preliminary torture tests. None the less, no opinion as of yet.

don't know, don't want to find out. At least I know Eric at Hanson's Pro Music (Port Huron, MI my dealer), has got his stuff together pretty well. Gave me a good price too! Well, was that a plug or what?

Been playin' for more than ten years (three sence I lost my left index finger to a brawl with a table saw), I've got my Laney single 15 combo for low volume stuff I don't want to lug this bitch to. I play mostly Ibanez basses. I really like this cab, I dig the sound, I dig the look, but still NO F**KING CASTORS!!?? besides that- cool.
