What im driving it with: Warwick LTD 03 Thumb/ Rockbass Corvette
into a (fender RT1000) dbx 266xl Compressor
David Eden WT 400
Sound:
Amazing for the first year. It doesnt handle the low end extremly well. Pretty much my only issue with it. I think its personal opinon but it does rattle the foundaries dont get me wrong. The aliminuim cones are nice and bright and the mid range is tight. I got a dbx compressor to tighten up the sound but not needed if ur not over pickey like me.
Overall sound:
Is Bloody great and at a good price for a sexy looking girl with a nasty scream

Lets be honest, its a big heavy bulky piece of equipment thats gonna cop some blows especially if u gig regually. It as kept up well (at the moment) the carpet covering is easily torn and the casters bent on a slight angle that is fixable and can be replaced. For the price who cares. we got a great sound for an even better price.

this is a new model from hartke (810XL series). If I remember right, it is originally made in 1984. This capinet suits well in different kinds of music styles.. You can play jazz, funk, rock, metal, etc. with no big problems. I like the bright tone from aluminium cones they great if you play solos and want to be heard)cap sound very bright..If you play low-notes very loudly then cap doesn't sound that good.terrific in low volume playing.

I have tested hartke 810xl with my 5-string bass which is tuned to A,D,G,C,F. I play mostly metal&rock music. When I was testing this product I noticed that Cones were a bit noisy. I think funk is the best style of music to play with this capinet after all.. because its clarity.if you play metal music with a pick and distortion this capinet shows its best sides.it doesn't sound that great if you are playing with fingers fast.Sound is too clear, not enough bottom.I think hartke XL4x10 and XL1x15 together might sound better than 810XL.

Hartke XL 810 capinet has enough power and sounds to play gigs in clubs and little stages, but the quality is the problem. it's a cheap cabinet and not durable enough(for my opinion) I think it isn't solid enough. Walls around the capinet are thin and weak,And carpet around the cap will break if you are touring or moving it to different places..If you compaire it for example to ampeg 810 there is a big difference between those two in quality and reliability.reliability and quality is the problem in this beauty. Not the sound.

hartke 810XL is good looking capinet with aluminium cones, but it is not practical and reliable.I have played bass about 15 years, different kinds of music..mainly metal. my overall rating for this product would be 7,5 but there is no halfs so..:)
