I shopped around for a decent combo all over the internet. I looked at SWR, Ampeg, GK, etc... I have been needing to down-size with my amp for a while. I chose the Hartke A100 because of all the features, looks, name and from prior experience with a Hartke 3500 amp.
The CD input, headphones jack for private practicing, 7-band graphic EQ, XLR out, etc...make for a compact unit.
I would recommend caster wheels and side handles though. It weighs 50lb and already is not the easiest combo amp to transport around. A dolly would be helpful, but I think I will eventually go the caster wheels route.

I've only had it for 4 days. So far, I'm very pleased!!!!
It has an awesome sound. The limiter is superb. All those pops and over the top/below frequencies are compacted to a smooth, level sound.

The amp for the money has more features than the Kickback 12 and in my opinion sounded better, that's why I bought it. I have been playing for 28 years now and needed a good small package for Church. I like the graphic EQ and I was able to get a good slapping tone from my modified Fender Precision with EMG active P7J pickups. I'm glad it has an XLR out to run into the sound system and i will be using the amp as a personal monitor and letting the sound system do the rest. I did not buy the amp to crank up and rock the house, My SWR can do that.

I was comparing this amp to the Hartke Kickback 12 model with my 1979 Fender Precision with the EMG active P&J pickups and I liked the versatility of this amp over the Kickback 12. This amp had more "umph" in the sound and did not sound "nasally" like the Kickback 12 did when I was slapping. I did notice that the speaker starts to crap out a little if you drive it, but as long as I know the limits, we should be fine. "It is what it is". My normal rig is an SWR Bass 350 with a tube preamp, but I bought this bass amp to play at Church. So far I am happy with the purchase.

This amp is great for most styles. It has a great clean sound. CD input is great for practice and learning new songs. It is VERY LOUD for its size. I played it on level 3 volume and it was shaking the room! Liniter is a good feature, although I don't use it that much. The tilt is great, it is less effort changing settings etc.I haven't used it in gigs or rehearsals yet, because I only bought it last week. It was a choice between this and some Laney, and I picked this because of its better sound quality and its better looks and features. Easily transportable.

I use a Mexican Fender Precision, and the sound is clean and punchy, even at high volume. I play a Boss ODB-3 and an EHX Mini Q-tron through it and there is no hum or unwanted noise. The graphic EQ helps you get most sounds, rock, blues, nearly anything.

Haven't had a chance, but I am guessing it will be reliable, due to Hartke's reputation, plus I am not really rough with my equipment.

I have been playiing for two years and this is my first decent amp.If this were to get stolen I would buy it again, and I am saying that after one week. Even if I went for an Ampeg or a Marshall or some overwhelming stack, I would still keep this as a practice amp. Great value for money.

i am using this for practise but soon i am going to jam with it in a couple of weeks. It sounds awsome if you have a good bass. My bass is a B-15 which is not that good but i love it.
SOOOOOOO LOUD
