Pretty much standard fare settings range, very nice 15" high quality speaker, line, effects, and headphone outs. I believe it was made the last year the B90 was produced. It has two channels allowing me to vary the volume range I play, be it small room or large halls and anything in between.
This is an amazing amplifier that has headroom equal to amplifiers two or three times its wattage rating. I use a Fender Jazz and a Squire Precision, and it is versatile enough to allow me to play jazz, blues, C/W, rock, mor, and Christian rock.

Since I play many styles in various types of bands, I need an amplifier allowing me to slap and pop or rumble and roar. The B 90 is capable of doing all of that and more.
The B 90 is a bit noisy when it is first turned on or off, much like a hotrodded Fender or Mesa Boogie.

I have traveling with it several times a week, and it has always been very reliable. I have taken it to multi band gigs, where the B 90 was the most reliable amp there (besides a high watt Ampeg) and the other bands borrowed it for their sets.
I don't anticipate having any problems with it what so ever, and don't use a back up amp.

Bought this amp in 2005 as a B900. 2 inputs, passive and active, FX loop, headphone jack, line out. I use this amp for bass and guitar, with the guitar running through a POD XTL. It seems to be plenty powerful, but when I'm jamming with a loud drummer, I have to turn it up to 10. I play an Ibanez SR300DX which has active electronics using the active input. Shape control is very nice, and lets me go from booming deep bass to treble-y slap bass style sounds.

I play an Ibanez SR300DX and a Line 6 Variax, and so far, this amp has handled everything I've thrown at it well. I play rock, funk, blues, and jazz. When using my bass thru the active input, I routinely turn it up to 10, and have not experienced any distortion or any other kind of defects.

I've had it for over a year, and so far so good. I would probably gig with it w/o a backup.

I've been playing bass for a year, guitar for 5. If it were stolen/lost, I'd probably just bite the upgrade bullet and get a bass head and stack. But for the price, this amp is hard to beat.

new hartke B-900. it's a B-90 with another zero on the end. 90 watts, 15" speaker... 3-band EQ and a shape circuit to adjust the frequency of the midrange... oh, and a volume knob. contrary to other reviews, this one seems to have a line out, headphone jack, effects loop in the back, and some kind of speaker jack. i actually use this thing for both guitar and bass, and it handles it very well.

my bass is an ibanez GSR200, and the guitar is an ESP MH-100 running with a boss MT-2 pedal. i play all kinds of stuff on guitar, but i try to stick to slower, more laid-back sounding basslines. whatever i'm playing, between the amp itself and my pedal, this thing can do it well. as for volume... well... the other day, my guitar was sufficient to knock things off a ledge from 5-6 feet away. on bass... i don't want to think of what it'd do... that enormous pop (which is actually just that big 15" speaker) should serve as a good indication of just how crazy that thing can be.
as for the distortion... there is none, except at exceedingly high volumes or used with my MT-2. with the pedal, though... brutal doesn't even come close.

i've only had this thing for a little while, but i'm hoping it'll hold up like my friend's old B-60. that thing has been to hell and back about 10 times in the past couple years, and it's still kicking just as much ass as it ever did. this thing looks pretty solid, and so long as i don't accidentally drop it (it is a pretty nasty thing to carry sometimes), it should hold up great.

i've played guitar for coming up on 4 years. i bought myself a bass a couple months ago, but i've been playing them off and on since i took up guitar. this amp is replacing my fender princeton 65, which just can't handle the bass i bought. i like that nice pop it makes when you turn it on, and that nice sound it makes when you start playing. i don't like how friggin' heavy it is, but then again, but the benefits far outweigh the... weight. compared to this new fender amp, which supposedly had 100 watts instead of 90, this thing was godlike. i chose this because there is no way in hell you're gonna get a better amp, guitar or bass, for only 300 bucks. i'd feel sorry for anyone who tried stealing this thing, but i'd buy another one as soon as i could afford it. overall, this thing makes a great amp for practicing with the band, though i think a B-600 would be a better choice for a practice amp.

This amp was probably built in 1999. I liked the features it had for the price, and I heard several places (including these product reviews) that Hartke bass amps were pretty good. It is 90 watts, solid state with a 15" speaker, 3-band EQ and a sweepable notch filter control called "shape". It has a line out jack in addition to an effects loop, a headphone jack that cuts off the speaker, and two inputs to handle either passive or active electronics. It's a low-priced amp, so it has an ordinary paper speaker instead of the aluminum speakers found in the higher-priced Hartke amps. I bought this amp primarily as a practice amp, and also planned to play smaller gigs with it, including playing with a gospel group in church. I guess my playing style could be called "standard old bass"; I play classic rock, gospel, jazz, big band, country, brass rock, and whatever else I stumble into. I don't claim to play slap, funk, techno, dance, or whatever the latest style may be called. This amp seemed to be have sufficient EQ controls to fit any venue and style I was going to play, remembering, of course, that it IS only a 90-watt amp. I got this amp to replace a Hartke B60 (60 watts, 12" speaker) which was defective.

I'm playing an Ibanez four-string with passive J- and P- style pickups. This amp was defective when I received it. With nothing plugged into any of the jacks and the volume set at the very minimum, this amp gave an enormous "pop" when turned on and then settled into a 95 decibel chorus of crackling, popping and humming. Trying to play through it WITH THE VOLUME SET AT THE VERY MINIMUM produced ear-splitting feedback. Nice amp.

This is the second defective Hartke amp I received. The previous one only sounded hideous above half-volume, this one obviously had a dead short that bypassed even the volume control. I don't think much of Hartke's quality or reliability. Good features for the money, though, hahahahaha

I didn't deal with Hartke, but I give zZounds a definite "10" in customer service. They've gladly accepted two bad amps back without charging me a penny for shipping. Now, if only they had checked them out BEFORE they sent them to me....

It seems to have good features, but what does that matter when it doesn't work? My opinion is that Hartke's quality control is non-existent and their amps are junk. (See also my review of the Hartke B60.)

It has all standard features in this price range, and a shape control which was very cool. It makes it easy to go from a deep sound to a very treble-ly sound that goes good with slap style playing. It also sounds very good when using it direct via the line out jack, much better than the others I have used to direct recordings...

I have a Fender Jazz Bass 4 string, with DiMarizio humbuker pickups, which sound amazing through this thing...
I also have a custom 4 string fretless that sounds a bit weak through this, but it's probably because of the crappy pickups. My 5 string jackson has an amazing sound through this (it has active pickups). The B string doesn't sound that good when played along side drums...

I've droped this down a flight of stairs, knocked a glass of pepsi on it, and had the volume maxed when it was turned on...it still works flawlessly. The only thing that I had to do was replace a fuse that was cracked when it fell down the stairs.

I give it a 10 overall because for this price for a combo, you can't go wrong. And on top of that, you get Hartke quality. You could have gotten a crate for the same price, but why settle for the hamberger when you can get the t-bone? (I like that anology :) Get this if you you are looking for a in a garage band that plays medium venues....

It's a decent sounding Bass amp. At the moment all I've got as far as a Bass is a Rouge (P+ copy with the P and J config) which I use to accompany my guitar on my 4-track. I also play in a country type garage band kind of thing with a drummer. The one thing I've noticed about this amp is it doesn't 'seem' real powerfull (especially compared to my 45W Super Reverb). Just playing in my room alone I usually have it on 4; It's not uncommon for me to have it almost completly turned up with a drummer/guitars. Perhaps the reason is weak pickups. I want to try my nephews Active Jazzbass through it for comparison, but I did play a Peavy through it and it was low (Yes, I'm using the Passive Input). I also keep the Filter in the center (which seems like 0dB) and set the tone knobs to the center as well. I have to say that the 15" speaker doesn't rattle even at the high settings. I think it's the first thing I've seen that you can turn all the way up. Any adjustments I make I do through the guitar settings (I like the P/J combination for tonal variety). It has the guts to jam with a couple of guitarists and a drummer, but you have to pushit harder than I like. It's perfect for home recording, as it has that real sub-woofer type sound with the 15" speaker.

This amp has not done alot of traveling. It really seems well built. One day it was slammed face down (which I've heard is terrible for speakers) w/no bad results. One thing I want to do is install casters due to the weight. My nephew has a Peavy (100W 15") which is much larger and heavier. In a way the Peavy seems ALOT more powerfull w/just 10 more watts, but that could be the active pickups and the illusion of size.

I'm not sure but I think it's got like a two year guarentee. I know when I read the terms they seemed pretty decent. I'm not sure what kind of REP Hartke has for customer support; I never dealt with them.

The best thing about this amp is the 15" speaker. All the other Bass Amps < or = to $300 have 12" speakers. To get a 15" in a Fender, Crate, or Peavy your up in the $350-$400 range. The thing I REALLY DON'T like about this amp is it has no external speaker jack (oddly enough, neither does the comparable Fender of Peavy; Crate does). I'm sure this is because they can't drive loads < 8 ohm. It does have a Line Out to connect to another amp. The effects loop is nice. If your looking for an amp for home recording/practicing this will give you the BIG sound of a 15" amp in a relatively small package. If you jamming with a band, you may want to hold out for something a little bigger ( or maybe just be willing to turn down A LITTLE).
