This amp has good features including a four band eq, effects loop, removeable speaker jack, line out, headphone jack, cd, and a limiter. Some of those features are pretty meaningless for a 35 watt amp like the limiter. I wish it had an xrl line out to plug into the pa for more volume. Since i can't, i just use this for practicing alone in my room.

I use a fender mexican p bass with the stock pickups and it sounds alright. I play punk with fast picking. I like a bassy sound and i have to turn the bass all the way up to get it. Mids are alright aand the highs make it hiss at high volumes. If you turn the gain up to high you get a distortion. I kind of like it. Sounds a little like nine inch nails. But for just practicing, it fits my needs.

Ive been playing for a year or two and this was a good amp for a vey cheap price. I was at samash deciding between this and the hartke A35 and i chose this because the hartke gets distorted at lower volumes. If it were stolen i would buy something louder because i grew out of this.I wish it had more volume. This is a decent amp for the money.

Great amp for this size range. One channel & one input with a db switch for active or passive pickups. It has a wide tonal flexablity with bass , middle, treble, pressence controls for tone. Loudness is adjusted by a gain & volume control which is monitored by a built in, on all the time limiter that has a active light when limiting. Unlike a few amps I have tried that when the limter kicks in you hear a noticable drop in volume, this one hardly audible. Other features are a headphone jack that cuts power to the speaker when used. An effects loop in & out located on the back. The power is sent to the 2 way 10"speaker via a back jack & 1/4" plug.
For a 10" 35 watt solid state amp it is pretty powerful. I jam with friends on the weekends in a basement playing classic rock. Most of time there are a drummer & guitar player there & the amp is sufficient. Sometimes another guitar player or keyboard player will show up & I will have get a liitle more power from a resident Sound City 50 & Ovation 15" that don't sound too good but adds some more volume.
I wish it had an external speaker jack because it seems to have enough power to drive one, and moving more air with bass is what it's all about. I don't like the fact that the AC power cord is removable. (plugs in the back) It is easy to lose when transporting.

I use a Charvel model 3 with Jackson active pickups. Between the versatlity of the bass itself & the amp, any sound is achivable. If you crank the bass control on the amp it will put out some pretty good bottom end for an amp this size. The constuction looks rock solid. No buzzing or rattles.

It's an Ibanez. I've had other products made by them over the years also. In my opinion it's top shelf stuff. I would use it for a gig but would bring another amp for more power. If it was the 100 watt 15" version thats all I would bring.

Have been playing bass about 15 years. Have an Ampeg backup bass guitar, a Yamaha 100 watt head & a JBL single 15" cab.
I would buy this amp again.
I compared with Fender, Berringer.
I chose it because of sound, price, constuction & past experience with their products.

I've played funk, rock, hip hop, r&b, christian, blues, jazz, country and tried to play fusian. I was able to dial up a tone to match and it matched well, everyone. It has one channel. It has an effects loop and a head phone jack and a line out. As for features it has everything it should have plus more. I used this amp for a drum and bass duo in a bedroom (i had to push it) it was able to prform without unwanted sound. Features: 10db gain button, gain control knob, right and left channel input, headphone, line out, and a limiter.

I use a Fender jazz deluxe with it using dean markley blue steel. It has a light ringing sound after i play a note. not really noticable while playing with others. it produces slaps very well. the distortion is light when the 10db gain is in the gain control is at 7 out of 10 and the volume is at 8 out of 10.

This is an excellent practice amp. I play lots of indie rock (Dismemberment Plan, At the Drive In, etc.) and a little bit of everything else and it seems to be good for just about anything. I play a BC Rich Mockingbird and comboed with this amp its very versatile. Sometimes the bass seems a little muddy but thats only when you really push the amp and turn up the gain. Lately I have been using this as an extension cabinet for my guitar and let me make this clear this is not what you want to use it for.It cuts the treple and distorts it like hell. But I'm not gonna take any points off for tht seeing that its a BASS amp. No noise at all from this amp even with lots of electronics turned on around it.

FIrst bass amp I've owned but i have played through a lot of others and this is an excellent practice amp for beginner or pro. I'd probably try something else if it were lost or stolen but that would just be because I would want something I could gig with and now I have more money to spend. Overall great amp for the price.

I think this amp comes with all sorts of neat crap; especially for the price! Knobs include Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence, and Volume. There is also a 10dB gain button, CD input, Line out, Limiter, Head Phone jack, effects loop and a little tweeter like thing on front of the speaker.

I use a Dean Edge 1 bass with it. I use it with acoustic songs and metal songs. The sound is very crisp, clear and strong. I use it for recording and it is perfect for that. There is a wide variety of sounds that can be used from this amp due its many features.

Well it doesn't look like it'd be that tough, but it is in perfect condition and I've owned it for a short while. But when I picked it up, I chose another one first that didn't work. -I don't know whats up with that -I guess it just happens.

My amp is made in 2002 and has all the features a practice amp needs. 4 Band EQ, line out, CD play back, effects send/return, limiter, 10db boost, headphone out and tilt back cabinet.
The amp is used for practice at home and "living room jams". For these purposes it is powerful enough. The tilt back, CD playback and headphone out housing gave me the final arguments to go for this combo.

A Fender P-bass is used with a double and single coil pick-up. It suits my music style (rock/blues) perfectly. Different sounds can be made. The (very simple) instruction manual gives 4 sample settings. The "clean" and "agressive" settings are good. The "walking" setting does not appeal to me. Using the 10 db boost introduces a bit to much noise.

This combo has just been introduced in my country so no experience on reliability. I don't expect problems given the overal build quality.

I play for about 20 years and use this combo for practice. For gigs a lager amp is used. What I like is the price/quality factor. Apart from the sound the build quality and design are very good. (normaly I don't like the rough design of bass amps and combo's, the 6-string brigade has more luck on design). The "tilt back-design" in this price category is really outstanding. A better manual with proper spec's would have been fine, the manaul is now of minimalist type.

This nifty little Amp has 35 Watts and a 10" Speaker - the Cab tilts back as well....
I purchased this new last month just for practicing with the band - did not want to keep lugging my regular rig.

You have your basic settings with a mid range on this little puppy - it gives a GREAT sound for my Jazz bass - I was absolutely surprised at what this little amp can do. I can actually keep up with the others in the groups volume wise with out distortion.
I have long been an avid fan of peavey and when I was looging for a smaller amp to use for practice only - I tried this in the music store and for the Price it blew all the other little amps away!

If you are a bass player looking for a great little practice amp - I highly recommend this! I have been playing for about 35 years and play all types of Rock/Blues, etc.. and it foots the bill just perfectly.. I could not say for those of you playing metal or punk or... But if you are in the market for a great little practice amp only - I would highly recommend this one! I can honestly say that it really comes through!

Amp made in 2001.
Amp works well for boosting up the volume of my bass.
One input channel; side effects loop; headphone jack; line out; 4 band EG; master volume; gain; 10db gain booster; clipping warning light.
I use it in small settings with other fairly quite instruments (no drums, pianos, etc) and for practice.
The tilt-back cabinet comes in handy, especially when you want to monitor your sound.
A balanced mic input would be handy for me.

I play upright acoustic bass with a pick-up mounted on the bridge. With relatively little fiddling around with the EQs and gain I was able to recreate the sound of my bass almost perfectly. At 35 watts this amp is not loud and it's not supposed to be. It does boost up my volume just enough to be even with the other musicians I play with (usually electric bass, cello, soft electric guitar). The 10db gain boost seems to add hum and distortion that isn't there without it. It's not bad, but enough to annoy you if you're standing next to the amp so I never use it. For a cheap amp it sounds remarkably well! For the record, I use an SWR California Blonde for serious amplification. This may well be the finest acoustic bass combo in the universe!

I haven't had it long but I do depend on it for some gigs. I can see where it might start looking a bit tattered after a short while (plastib corner guards, thin covering material, etc.). It's definitely not a workhorse, but hey, it's definitely not $300 either!

I bought it from Musicians Friend. I've returned a couple of items to them in the past and they've always been very nice and have responded quickly. I'm sure they'd be just as helpful if this amp ever pooped out.

I know a lot of people have bashed Ibanez amps, and for good reasons in many cases. I don't know how this amp would handle an electric bass but for low amplification of an acoustic bass it works very well. This unit doesn't have any of the strange rattles, pops, and hums that many reviewers have attributed to Ibanez's other amps. There's a lot of cheap amps out there but none of the others I've tried can match this one.
