Year 1974 Kustom Bass II 1-15. Dont know of versatility I play Rock and Country and this thing sounds Great. There are 2 channels. One has a clarity knob and definently ands to the Killer sound. 1 speaker output and 1 line out. The line out I use to Piggy Back a Kustom III amp. Were talking Smokin Hot hot Killer Loudness and a Killer sound, like a cross betweem an Ampeg and an Accoustic. Features needs none "plane and simple" allways works great.

I play a Madeira EB-400 Rare and Smokin P-Bass and a Hartke VXL Tone Shaper. Great all around Bass Sound. A little noisy at rest but when playing cant here a thing. You can get a Killer clean Bass tone and Cranked Up past 8 you get this Killer Distortion that theres Know pedal that can come close too..... This a Killer distion sound not a JUNK Amp Distortion.....

Reliability : No Opinion
32 Years old and is Better and more reliable than any amp out there. I`ve owned this Amp 22 years and is show room perfect and NEVER had it serviced. PERFECT.......

Never been Repaired. Broadway music is a sight that can give imformation on all Old Kustom Amps....Warranty??? They shut shop a few years back and the new Kustom knows Zilch......

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Been playing off and on for 22 years. Other gear, Peavey Patriot,DOD compressor, Hartke VXL Tone Shaper. If lost or stolen I would try and find the Kustom IV with EQ. Ive compared this to most of the 1-15 combos out there and ampegs 200 watt combos were the only ones out there that was as loud. For 60 watts this Kustom II combo (Seperate Head and Bass Cab) is the Loudest and best sounding portable rig Ive came across. Loud enough for most Gigs.

end 70's i think. it is somewhat versitile, but it hasn't got a super range of sounds, it has only got like, 4 knobs. i play mostly red hot chili pepper style slap, and it is, somewhat boomy, but hey, its a 15' so what did you expect?
for normal rock, its a lot better tough, it growls lovely, i just lve its 'vintage' sound
it's got 2 inputs, and no headphones or whatever. and the voicing and stuff, wel, i don't use it that much.
it has enough power, but somehow i hope it just had some more.
i mean, its nice for practising in the garage and stuff, but on a gig, you'll need the PA man!

Sound Quality : 9
yeah, im using a yamaha BBN 4 fretless, and it rocks!
with my ibanez, wich i am going to sell, it is a little bit boomy tough, more like the contra-bass thing.
its not noisy at all, and as i said, it growls like uh.. well, al little tube but not that much, ahw, forget the tube thing :P

Reliability : 10
damn, must be reliable, its fuckin' heavy dude, and since it is about 30 years old, i think its build to resist, and will not break up for a while, it is still in good condition, im not first owner, but everything seems pretty good.

ive been playing for about a year, every single day, i mean, it's just me and my base :) i own a little 30watt combo, wich sucks, ans every time i get to play my kustom, it rocks!
if it was stolen, well, i don;t think another one is that easy to find, so i would search for an marshall dbs 4x10'combo, wich just is a loud amp/ tough i'll miss the vintage sound...
i love the sound, tough that somethimes, when im havily slappin, its a little bit boomy.

i wish it had more power, so id buy a 4x10 cab, and put it under te kustom top :)

amp was made roughly 20 years ago is what i can put together. has 2 inputs one for low volume another for high volume usage. has master volume, bass, treble with brite switch and voicing which is kinda of a weird morpher. 1 15" speaker and has a closed-cabinet design (which can be remedied with a screwdriver). the voicing thing i almost never use but its nifty just to toy around with. its good enough for just about all but the most demanding gigs, in that condition, and additional cab MAY be required. hey, its a bass amp, you dont really need much more than that in my opinion.

im using several yamaha bx series basses and one squire affinity p-bass. i play pretty much anything ranging from slipknot to classic rock, but my favorite style is punk rock like anti-flag or even green day. with the strat if the treble is up too high and the brite is on then it makes a little buzz which can be annoying between songs but not enough too seriously hinder the rating. the yamahas play beautifully on it. i use the settings of bass - 5 treble - 8 brite on and voicing 0 or 1 to get "my sound". it does take a little while to find your authentic sound but dont worry its in there. the voicing kinda gives it a jazzy feel especially with the bass all the way up and playing finger. kinda nifty if you like being versatile.

Reliability : 9
do the math. its 15-20 years old and still works like a charm, and im not particularly nice to it. i bought it a few months ago and its been smacked into walls and stairs and a lot of other things (people). with that said its built solid. even with its enourmous girth and weight the handle still seems sturdy

havent had to deal with them

ive been playing about a year now and my only other bass amp is a fender practice amp. this is defintely a keeper for the value. if you're a 16 year old kid like me with little money to spare then by all means get this amp. however if you are older and have the money then i would say get yourself a fender bassman 100. its the only thing in the class that can compete with this monster. if it were lost or stolen id be friggin angry because these arent very easy to find especially for the amount i paid. for an additional piece of info, if you like to play punk like me then by stainless steel fender strings. together they rok some serious sox.
