i give this a 9 because I'm weighing it against other practice amps. for a practice amp, it's loaded. 2 inputs, 4 band eq, volume, line output (i send it to my PA to get louder for jamming), headphone out (to practice quietly while I'm at the computer late at night), and external speaker out (i think that's it.. It's outside right now so I'm not able to look)

yeah, it sounds shitty, it's a practice amp. all amps without compression sound fairly shitty. I use my Bassman for gigs, but for practice, the Kustom is fine. it's not unusable, it's definitly decent for a practice amp. I use it to practice both alone and with my band, where it is just loud enough to be heard over the drums (but still not as loud as I'd want it to be) because i don't wanna haul around my half stack. i put it through the PA once i bought one, and that made it loud enough. Played lots of guitar through it too, with a distortion pedal, and it sounds appropriatly shitty but still useable for practice or low volume jamming. I play lots of styles, but mostly rock and punk, and i have a cort jazz bass copy.

I'v had it for two years, got it in michigan, played it alot, moved to hawaii, played it alot, moved back to michigan, played it alot. It goes through constant and extreme temperature and humidity changes, including below 0 degrees michigan winters (I keep it where my band practices, outdoors in the shed) to the 72 degree house, back to the freezing shed.. often several times a day. i kick the amp in the heat of passion, plug and unplug all the shit while the power is on and the volume is maxed (the volume is always maxed!) and it is good as new except for the plastic hexagonal ring around one of the inputs broke when i accidentaly stomped on a cord that was plugged into the amp at almost a perpindicular angle, shearing it off. the input still works fine.

been playing for 2 years, jammed with lots of people in full band situations, treated this amp like shit and it's been there for me. I hope to eventually set it aflame at one of my band's shows, as I am growing into a more serious player, and I mostly use my new fender bassman half stack. i have no need to replace it if it got stolen.. if i wanted another combo amp I'd get a more powerful one than 40 watts though.. it makes jamming in a full band situation tough, people have to turn down or play lighter to match your level. I have a kustom guitar practice amp and a kustom PA which are also decent for the cost.

Solid state 40 watts with a 10" speaker. The usual controls - volume, 4 knob EQ, gian controls, headphone jack. Has a jack for an extension speaker.

Let me say that it doesn't sound horrible. It just doesn't sound good. No amount of tweaking the controls will get you a good solid tone. It's either muddy or tinny, nothing in between. Disappointing. Not suitable for anything but practicing alone. Not enough volume for jammimg, certainly not enough for a gig.

Had it for about 8 months with no major problems. It seems sturdy. But some of the vinyl covering is coming loose at the seams. I crazy glued it and it looks like it's holding so far.

I've played guitar for 5 years but just started with bass last year and wanted a medium power amp to get up to speed with. This one is disappointing. I know Kustom made some good stuff in the distant past. But if all the new products are like this, get a Peavey or one of the new low-cost Ampegs. My next purchase will probably be a decent bass amp.
