A 2003 model, designed in Usa, built in China. Mos-fet amp, one channel, 6 band eq, balanced line out, line in, effects loop, notch filter, digital effects. A 12" Celestion Truvoice speaker in a ported cabinet - all very useful features. The design has a lot of common with the Kustom guitar and keyboard combos.

I play jazz, blues and occasionally mainstream rock on a Fender Classic Jazz Bass. This amp sounds great at home, and ok in low volume band rehearsals. The tone controls are moderate in their action, but the sweepable notch filter is really effective, as you can change the basic tone and get rid of the boxiness when playing on full level. The one-control chorus and flanger sound musical but the echo is gimmicky.

Someone reviewing the guitar combo mentioned the effects chip having rattled loose during shipping. The same propably happened to my bass combo, too, as the effects wouldn't always work. I swapped it for a new machine from the shop and this one works as it should.

I've been playin for my fun for 30 years. Playin bass is a sideline to explore jazz. Guitar is my main instrument. I have a Guild X-170, a Tokai Tele, and a K. Yairi acoustic. For guitar aplification I have a Peavey Classic.
Considering the price the Kustom is a real bargain.
