150 watts, 15" speaker, 4 preset channels (clean, r&b, rock, synth) with 3 smart fx (chorus, octaver, and filter). Built-in tuner, compressor, active and passive inputs, mp3 input, DI, and headphones out. There are actually 6 amps modeled (grind and brit are the other 2) but I'm happy with just the ones programmed into the 4 preset buttons.
These features are more than I'll ever need. Unit is kinda on the heavey side. I just wish it had an external speaker out but Line 6 did not provide this for this line of amps but if I'll ever need more volume out of it I can simply use the DI out and connect to a PA system if I need it to be louder.

Sound Quality : 10
I play in a band covering tunes from the 60's onwards (Beatles, Eagles, Blues, Disco, Light jazz, etc). I currently use it with a Fender 60's Classic Jazz with roundwound strings and a 50's Classic Precision with flats but I've used it with other basses as well and it always made every bass sound great. This is the perfect amp for those who like to just plug in and play, the presets are great and very useful. It does every style well but my favorite is the rock setting(modeled after an Ampeg SVT). I also use the R&B setting a lot for older stuff like classic blues ("Red House", "Hideaway"). Some consider the synth a novelty but it is actually very useful for playing tunes like EWF's "Let's Groove" or Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon". It will not sound exactly like the recorded sound from those songs but the effect makes it better than just playing it with a regular bass sound. The slap sound lacks crispy highs (even when I use an active bass) but with a BOSS bass eq, I can get a better slap tone. This amp is very powerful. I played it in a medium size ballroom and a large gymnasium with 2, sometimes 3 guitarists, a drummer, and a keyboard player and the sound just fills up the room with the volume at just below 1 o'clock!
No distortion even at high volumes but if you want some grit in your sound just turn up the gain knob. All my bandmates love this sound of this amp.

Reliability : 10
I've had this amp for over 2 yrs and haven't had any problems with it. I don't have a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've yet to contact Line 6 about anything with this amp but they do have a forum on their website where you can ask questions about their products. I have the Line 6 Gearbox and they were very quick to answer any questions I had about operating the unit and stuff.

Overall Rating : 10
I choose this amp because I don't like to do a lot of tweaking, the presets are very usable and can cover a wide variety of styles. I've been playing on and off for about 12 yrs and have played in 4 different countries in various cover bands. In the past, I just used whatever amp the venue provided so I never really had to have an amp of my own. I used to own very small 10 watt practice amps so this is my first real bass amp and I have to say that for the price (especially the price I got it for) it's an awesome deal!

Potentially does everything you could want

I'm playing a Honer B2A and a Tobias 4 (with a MusicMan pickup) in a Soul band.
I bought the amp because I tried it in a shop, and couldn't stop grinning! Great range of tones, and a really warm bottom end.
But there is a problem - you have to turn it up LOUD, or it looses all attack, and sounds processed. I spent a morning with the splendid chaps at Line6, and we compared mine to a couple of new ones, and they all seemed to have the same problem.
We play a lot of weddings and suchlike where volume is an issue, and though I've still got that warm, thick foundation, the drive is a bit missing.

Reliability : No Opinion
An amp this complex is likely to be less reliable in the long run, but I've had no problems in the first 6 months. It seems to be solidly made.

Customer Support : 10
I sent it back to the factory, and they couldn't find anything wrong with it, but still sent it back to me for nothing. I took it to the service depot myself, and the guys there could not have been nicer or more helpful. I'm confident that if anything did go wrong, it would be sorted efficiently.

Overall Rating : 6
I've been playing for years, and also have a G-K micro bass, and a Trace 150 head and G-K 15" cab. Neither give anything like the bass that this produces. I don't know if I'd buy another if this disappeared - it is growing on me, and I'm working on ways to get back to the sound that won me over in the first place. It must be possible!

This thing is ahead of most bass amplifiers when it comes to features. The 5 amp models and effects were fun and easy to configure. The tuner was a nice touch. The synth model was interesting but, more of a novelty. The one thing it needs is a MIDI interface.

Sound Quality : 4
The Single 12 inch speaker was slightly dull sounding but very rich on the low end. The amp is very suited for rock. If you're in to jazz you might want to look into another amp. The distortions were very warm sounding and the effects didn't seem to add un-nessesary noise. It has two drawbacks that caused issues in my studio. First was that when it would warm up a cooling fan would kick in and the noise would come through on the recording when using a microphone. The second was discovered when I ran direct to my recording console out of the XLR line out. 60 Cycle hum was present with the volume at 0. In other words the machine was just too noisy for good recording.

Reliability : No Opinion
It seems well constructed.

Line6 was responsive but, they can't correct the issues with their engineering that caused it to be a lousy studio amp.

Overall Rating : 5
This would be a great practice amp or gigging amp. It is not well suited for a recording studio due to noise issues.

I use a Washburn XB120 and get great sounds out of it for all rock players of modern ages and even for punk players from late 70s to early 80s it is a great amp that will satisfy your needs.
Doesnt Distort at high volumes at all and it is definately loud enough to gig at a smaller venue.
GREAT SOUND QUALITY
