I bought this combo a few weeks ago, but I used it on concerts, rehearsals, and at home since. The two main features are the vintage loudspeaker emulator, which works great, gives your bass a nice '70-s sound, and the other one is for a more slappy, punchy tone. The 4-band EQ is nice, very sensitive, but this thing sounds great out of the box, without using the EQ. The Markbass sure has enough power to work with almost everywhere.

Sound Quality : 10
I use it with a Fender Marcus Miller Signature, and this is the perfect combination for me. The markbass gives the sound depth, and clarity too, forming a very nice modern jazz bass sound. If I turn the VLE on, the sound gets vintager, so I can always find the setting that suits me. The fan is dead silent anyway, i cant even hear it when the volume is all the way down.

Reliability : No Opinion
No opinion, only having it for a few weeks.

I've been playing for 8 years, and I had hughes and Kettner, Laney, Hartke, etc. since then, but this markbass is my all time favourite. It was kind of hard to buy in Hungary, so I was going to buy EBS for the first time, but then I decided Markbass. And i was right. Absolutely. If it was stolen I would definitely buy another one.

This amp is brandnew. Build in august 2006 and I bought it in september 06. Solid state (you really don't need tubes). The combo has 1 channel and a simple but great eq with the vle (vintage loudspeaker emulator) and vpf (like the enhancer from SWR). Effectsloop, line out for tuner etc. external speaker 8ohm.
280 Watt/8 ohm, 400W/4Ohm
weight 17,9 kg

Sound Quality : 10
I play both electric and double bass. This combo rocks, this combo sounds great for all my playing styles; blues, rock, jazz , everything! What a power! This combo sounds warm,it has a round tone. I played a lot of amps and cabs but this is the one.The volume is more then enough for the most clubgigs. It gives you 280 or 400Watts.
The amp and it's van are quit, no hiss or blowing noise.

Reliability : No Opinion
I played this combo on 6 gigs, no problem.

no idea

I owned Hartke 3500, GK MBE, Eden, SWR. I sold everything and bought this combo, this is perfect for me. I get a lot of positive reactions from other musicians.
I love it's warm, round tone and volume. It has got balls.
Th eq works great. You can reallly get any sound out of it, very versatile.

The classic Little Mark II head in a 12inch combo with a tweeter.
The 121h cabinet without the ability to control the tweeter output.
All the basic controls you 'll need for more info I suggest you should take a look at the site of the manufacturer.
The only thing that is suppossedly missing is a built-in compressor,
but I don't really mind as I have the excellent ebs multicomp.
One could also argue that the only way to adjust the output volume of the line out for a connection to a recording machine or the pa is the gain. I don't really mind.

The weight of this thing is the same as my former practising amp, a vox t60 with just 60watts..It is even easier to carry due to a better handle.

Believe the hype. I play a usa fender Jazz bass with dimarzio pickups, and have upgraded with the s1 switching system, (at least the implementation dimarzio kindly sent me for switching the pickups from parallel to series-or vice verca can't recall) for a deeper more
bassy sound.
The sound is awesome. The eq is amazingly powerfull, and the two filters vle and vpf, really give you countless tone options.
Think of a sound and you can get it, and quite easily, just try out all the knobs to see their effect on the sound and you're there!

Also as everyone points out, you won't believe your ears with the volume this thing can pump out. At last I can hear myself in my practising band(loud inexperienced drummer) without mudding the sound of the group.

Just the sound I had in my head, now in the twist of a couple of knobs.
And what is the funniest thing, now with such a good machine, I realize that I am a far better slapper than I thought playing all this time through a tiny and weak vox t60:)

Just bought it, can't really tell, but I've heard from others that they are very reliable. Various reviews point out that even after hours of playing they get only slightly warm to the touch.

Sent an e-mail a month ago, and you can imagine my surprise when I got a reply yesterday. They apologized, but said that the amount of e-mails they get is really huge. I suppose they should consider upgrading that department since they have started to grow rapidly.

But it is definite plus that they finally answered.

I have been saving money for a long time to get this. I had heard it a couple of times and tried, and I knew it was all I wanter. I'm a bass student, not a bass player(yet), and I play almost any style from rock to reggae, and jazz to fusion. I also slap and this amp
is suited for contemporary playing but also for oldschool tunes.

I was really looking forward purchasing and then sharing my experience with others. I won't lie, I knew exactly what I was going to say.
