I have a 2007 CMD 102P. I like the simplicity of the design. It took very little time to get used to what does what. I've used all the adjustments except the VLE to make slight adjustments depending on the room, band, and type of music. I generally don't use effects so I havent tried the loop, but it's a nice feature to have for those who do. I'm a middle aged man with a very bad back so the light weight is a godsend. My only complaint is that fuzzy covering, standard on many amps, tends to attract dog hair and such. If I don't vacume it off once in a while, it begins to look like my yellow lab. The back pannel has everything I need and a little more. The external speaker jack can use a speakon or 1/4" plug. A line out with ground lift. Effects loop, and tuner out.
I find the tilt back feature is a plus that I use more than I thought I would.

I have a lot of different basses but tend to use Lipe custom basses of the Jazz Bass type and an old 65 Jazz Bass. The Lipe basses have either Duncan stack coil pickups or Kerry Nordstrand Pickups that have a side by side coil design. One coil under the E and A and one under The D and G. There all passive. The 65 is stock.
I play blues, RnB, jazz, rock, country etc. So far this amp has covered it all very well. For such a small package, it's warm with plenty of punch. I've gotten many complements on the sound, and alot of surprised comments that so much tone can come out of it. I also have a 1x15" "Traveler" extension speaker for the rare times that I need a little more head room, but I've had to use it very little.
In a couple of rooms I've gotten a little hiss/buzz if I let go of the strings, but I blame that on neon signs and the like as this doesn't happen everywhere.
I keep the gain below the clipping point and then use the master to adjust my overall volume. I've had no distortion problems this way. I don't usually play extremely loud music, and when I'm in a concert situation, we go direct out anyway.

So far, so good. I've only had it a few months so time will tell.

I haven't contacted the company as of yet, so I dont know. My only concern is that they're made in Italy and so far I don't think there are any autherized repair shops in the U.S. My preveous amp was an SWR and the factory was near my home town, and that was a comfort.

I've been playing for 46 years and have had many different amps. Some of them I wish I still had like an old Ampeg B-15. But I have to say I love this amp. So much thought was put into the design. The features, the light wieght, even the little access door that makes it easier to access the back panel are all well thought out.
If it were lost or stolen, I would absolutly get the same thing again. I did alot of research including reading these reviews, before buying this amp. I do wish they had covers, but I happened to have one that fit perfectly from a 2x10" cab so I got lucky.
You can only get these at Guitar Center and that doesn't allow you to price shop which is a bit of a drag. I don't blame Guitar Center for cornering this market if they can, but I don't care for monopolizing any one product.
So the Italians did it again. Great art, great food, great sportscars, great shoes, and now great bass amps. Whoda thunk it!

I use an old Electra 4 string with a vintage "P" style pickup and a heavily modified OLP 5 string with a Duncan "Basslines" pickup. I play a variety of music with friends, including jazz, blues, funk, rock, reggae and hip hop, but my band is a hard rock (almost metal) power trio. I needed an amp that would keep the bass heavily present during guitar solos, but wouldn't overpower the rest of the band. This Markbass combo does the trick with near perfection. I've only played one gig with her, thus far, in a very small club. The overall tone is crystal clear, and by using the VLE and VPF knobs, I can dial in tones ranging from classic Ampeg to modern GK. My only tonal complaint is that although I could hear the low end, but could not feel it thumping thru my chest the way I have in the past with 15 inch speakers versus the pair of 10 inch speakers in this combo. I plan to purchase a 15 inch cab in the near future to solve this problem.

I have only owned this amp for a few months and I don't know any other Markbass owners, so reliability has yet to be determined. I will state that Markbass does not have a waranty in the USA as of yet, so I made sure to purchase the extended waranty from the chain store I bought it from.

I absolutely love this amp. It weighs much less than any other bass combo I've owned, and it has great tone. This was my first high end amp purchase and it took a lot to come up with the funds to buy it, but I have no regrets. Now I'm saving up for a 15 inch cab to complete my rig.
