USe with Jazz bass, EB MM stingray, Precision & Elec. Uprite bass. Sounds GREAT for all! Sounds SUPERB with the Precision w/ flats & a BDDI Driver-for a bit of overdrive! The 2 filters VPF & VLE are awesome- I Usually use these alone & leave all EQ flat. VLE on 9 0clock, VPF on 10 oclock- gives a great example of a good quality vintage amp. Great amount of headroom -even @ 8ohms(300w), but using a 4 ohm cab (or 2x8ohms cabs) WOW... this li'l amp POWERS IT OUT BIG TIME!!! AMAZING for an amp that sits in a briefcase with it's speakon, power & guitar leads + tuner & books!!!!!

Been gigging for 30 yrs- 44 y.o.- This is the ONLY solid state amp I've ever liked enough to KEEP for longer than a year or so!!! & I don't see myself EVER parting with this amp. TOO good a sound, too versatile, too easy to lift, pack transport etc... I basically use ALL tube amps & have done ALL my life. Bought this for use MAINLY with my Elec. uprite bass. But it's SO good I use it for many other gigs. I STILL favour ALL TUBE amps....they just sound SO good in a band setting...... but this LMII is the closest & most versatile sounding amp that I've found that comes EVEN CLOSE to sounding like an all tube amp(-counting HYBRID AMPS TOO!!!!!- ) - that I've come across.

This is a wonderfully simplistic amp with a very versatile sound that can easily rival any 10-band EQ amp I have ever played.
It has one input, a gain range that is more than enough to cover passive and acitve PUs without problem.
The 4-band EQ is effective and the center frequencies seem to have been chosen well, especially for 5-string basses.
Additionally there are two filters. I have no idea what they do exactly, but one diminishes the high frequencies and the other seems to take out mids... So I can ideally create my favourite bass sound: rich low end and aggressive high-frequencies while leaving the mids for guitar and voice.
Another, really great, feature is its light weight. For the 500W you get with this baby, you only carry 2.9kg. The friend, who helped me chose this amp, was carrying it in his messenger bag without any trouble; the cab (I've got the Markbass 104HF, a 4x10 with Horn) is a lightweight among its peers (~30kg) but is still quite heavy; And here comes the only negative feature, there are not even optional wheels for the Markbass cabs, so I had to install my own, bought at a hardware-store. That is easy, if you plan ahead and bring a battery-powered screwdriver and the wheels with screws...
A nice feature of the cab are the yellow speaker membranes...
All in all, I love this amp and could not thing of any Genre I would not play with it....

I have 5 basses ranging from fully passive to fully active and from low-budget to best-of-the-line. They all sound good with the amp, but I have to admit that active sounds better, since the high frequencies active electronics produce are much finer... But I am sure that that is only personal taste!

I've had no trouble yet and I've spoken with an ex-endorser and he never had any, either. Not even when using it outside the parametres set by the company.

I've been playing bass for 10 years and a little now, and this is the best-sounding amp I have played yet. If it was lost/stolen, I'd definitely buy Markbass again, I might look at the better models, though, just out of curiousity.
The only thing that would make it even better would be a mute-switch, so I could change basses without switching it off. I actually solved that with my floor-tuner, but it would still be nice. Also, I'd prefer the loop to be serial.
Nonetheless, this is a really great amp for that price, so full score!
