I have two of these, 1510's both loaded with Carvin Pro 10's. Evaluating 30 year old speakers is kinda useless. I drive these two cabs with a Mesa 400+, and the volume is just frantic. I used to have Marshall 1520's, back in the eighties, and the 150w Sidewinders were badass, but they're all gone now. These cabs are still obtainable, affordable, and kick ass.

I use an early Washburn 6-String bass with active pups. I use a bit of compression, no other effects. These speakers will not add much natural distortion to the sound, so a bit of overdrive on the pre will make it sing the harmonics for my chords. With these speakers they work great.

I've been playing bass for 35 years. No one would steal these, cause I never let them out of my sight. They're big and heavy, the casters are weak, but they say something about you as you heave them onto the stage; they say you're serious about this, and if you're good, you deserve Marshall, if you suck, you look like a well finance fool.....

This is a response to my last submission that I made in an angry and confused state. I bought brand new speakers and now the amp rocks like it should.

I bought another GK 410 cab that is quite a bit smaller because this one won't fit in my car. This cab sounds deeper and fuller than the GK cab!

I replaced the speakers and I haven't had a problem with it since. The body is made of many plies of wood. I forget exactly how many. It feels rock solid though.

good luck.

If the speakers are replaced this is a solid cab. Otherwise look elsewhere.

Made sometime in the 80's (Says JCM 800 on it). It's got 4 10's. Celestion G-10S-CE's. It'S HUGE for a 410. bigger than my 412 guitar cab. 1 input. 200 W, 8 ohms. I wish it could handle more power. I think the main thing it has going for it is that it's made out of solid would and has 4 ports.

n/a see below. All I know is that it doesn't have a deep sound because it has vintage guitar speakers in it. But I was pissed when I opened it up. I'm gonna replace two of them. see below!

CRAP! This is the worst ANYTHING I've ever bought in my life. The first time I turned it up with my band a speaker was blown before we even played a song!!! So I said fuck it I'll play with 3 speakers and 1 farting one. Then I blew another one! I had my Carvin R600 (great amp btw) juiced up to 2. That's right 2! We had to cancel practice. Now I have to look for new speakers. Money down the drain. I would doing anything for a refund, but that's not gonna happen.

Haven't tried yet but I'm assuming I'm S.O.L.

I've been playing guitar for 10 years. This is my first bass cabinet. Though this is my first bass cabinet, I know how loud amps should get before they break. I barely had this P.O.S. pushing and it crapped out. First time I ever used it. I can't explain how upset I am. It's no wonder no one uses marshall bass stuff.
