I bought this back in 2003 @ a guitar center. It's a bass cabinet with horn control and casters...10 for features. What else can you do...maybe add a holder for my beer.

Sound Quality : 5
When the speaker is not blown it sounds pretty good. When the 15 blows you get all horn which sounds awful.

Reliability : 3
I've destroyed the 15 twice in this cabinet. Its rated @ 400 watts and I blew it @ half volume with my buster 200 (200 watt tube amp).

Customer Support : 9
The first time the 15 went out mesa covered it (under warranty). The second time it was not so they denied it. However, it seems obvious to me that the speaker has an inherent problem...

Overall Rating : 7
Overall, the cabinet itself is great. Very compact for a 1x15 setup. Its kinda heavy, but what do you expect? That's what the casters are for!

Features are specified below. I won't repeat them. This is a late 90s model before they switched to the painted grey grill. One thing i notice is that the new ones do not have side ports. Mine does.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab will give you all the bass and mids you need. Maybe not that much in the highs department, but that's what a 210 or 410 are for. The best way i can describe the sound is "juicy." It's probably best for rock and related genres, but you can't go wrong with pretty much any style. I played it with a Fender MIJ P-Bass through an Ampeg SVT-350H and Ampeg 210 cab. It complemented the Ampeg set-up nicely and made for a dependable rock rig.

Reliability : 10
It's built like a tank. It has casters (which are pretty much a necessity). You could stick a refrigerator on top of this cab and move it down the block and it won't flinch. I actually used it as a dolly when i was moving once. Like i said, built like a tank. It will probably outlast the rest of us.

Never needed to call them.

Need a solid 115 that will last forever? Look no further.

The year that SWR came out with the ST-220 bass head I bought one, and a pair of Mesa 115 Power House cabs. I was playing 5 string basses, Fender Jazz Bass plus, two exactly the same except one had a rosewood fretboard and the other had maple.
The Mesa Boogie cabs had everything I wanted and needed. Solid, tight bottom (even the low B) clear mids for pitch recognition and just enough highs for blending with the kick attack. Alot of the sound was the EV speakers.... BUT the cabs were very well suited to the speaker response. I had used EV before and the seemed to "like" the Mesa cabs very much.

Sound Quality : 10
I was playing Pop and R&B at the time. The cabs filled the bill !

Reliability : 10
Never had to deal with CS at all..... Like a rock.... VERY road worthy.

Customer Support : 10
5 year warranty... all my dealings with the company (never about the speakers) were not only professional but there was a friendliness and conversational tone that made me feel very confident and satisfied with the inneraction.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 39 years. I quit playing live in 93 to open a recording studio and started playing again in 2002. The reason I'm writing this review is, after playing through some other cabs (2 115's by Peavey, 4X10 Carvin, 1X15 &2X10 Carvin)when I got back into being in a band I've just bought a used Powerhouse 1X15 and a Road Ready 2X10 w/horn. I'm going back to the REAL thing ! later for the toy stuff.

I'm driving these cabs with a Tech 21 Sans Amp RBI ( I do like the tube sound but hate the mantaince) into a Stewart World 600 pwr Amp.. Bridged MONO. I'm playing a Fender Deluxe P Bass special (P/J pickups and active EQ), a custom built "57 style P Bass and a custom built "61 Jazz Bass (both Mighty Mite bodies and necks and all Fender hardware and pickups)

Brand New Mesa Boogie Powerhouse cabinet which really rocks. I took this cabintet along with my M-Pulse 600 W head..this set up really rocks. Been playing for over 20+ years & finally the Mesa people have the bass tone I was searching for years. The cab I have was bought new from Guitar Center up here in Cleveland. The cab is heavy...so don't pull a muscle. I also love the new Mesa design. For bigger gigs I use my Mesa 2 x 10" on top & the 15" on the bottom. I've played all the "great cabinets" , Eden, SWR, Ampeg.....My ranking would be in this order:
1.Mesa Boogie
2.Eden
3. SWR

Yes, the old cliche of "you get what you pay for" hold true here.

Sound Quality : 10
Well, it sounds like a 15" cab! I don't mean that in a smart-ass way..but the 15 easily handles the tones of a 4 & 5 string bass. The low B on my Yamaha TRB-5P sounds amazing. The clarity is there, no drop out whatsoever. Again, the amp has a major factor in this....but my basses have never sounded this good as they do through this set-up. I play a Ibanez Doug Wimbish DW3 (prototype model signed by Doug himself) with EMG's, Brubaker with Lane Poor pick-ups, Carvin LB 20 (passive, stock pick-ups) & Yamaha TRB 5PII (five string bass with piezo ). They all sound great.I can get the great acoustic sound or the great rock & roll sound. In my opinion this cabinet was made to rock! Playing a acoustic bass through it doesn't give it justice.
The horn gives you just enough high end to be satisfied. Personlally I like the horn flat (12 o'clock) or less..(around 10' clock).
Cossover section gives you many different features. Cab is solid as a rock....covering is black telex....with front aluminum grill.

Reliability : 10
So far...I see no major problesms...just owened for over a month & have used only on 4-5 shows. I cann;t forse any problems with the speaker or horn.

Customer Support : 10
Five year warranty....Mesa support is excellent.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 20+ years. I also own the Powerhouse
2 x 10" cabinet, M-Pulse Bass Head, Eden Metro (combo). My basses are:
Brubaker-Lane Poor Pick-up/ active EQ
Doug Wimbish Bass prototype-with EMG's -P & J -Active EQ
Yamaha TRB-5PII -piezo pick-ups -Active EQ
Carvin LB 20-passive pick-ups
Love the cab...hate the weight.....but some things are worth it..the Boogie is a definite WORTH IT!
I compared this to a Avatar 15, SWR 15, Eden 15....all great cab's...but there was something about the Mesa that quite frankly gave me the tone I was looking for. The Eden was close As was the Avatat...but the mesa had the growl & also the clear tones I was looking for. Depends on the ears.

I picked it up new at an auction. Its features are: 1x15, 400 Watts, Custom PowerHouse Speaker, High Frequency Driver w/Adjustable Level Control, Trak-Loc Casters, 8 Ohms. It's construction is rock solid!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Peavey Cirrus 5 string and I recently picked up the Mesa Boogie M-Pulse 600. Using the Boogie head with only the 1x15 sounds shockingly clean and full by itself! It handles the high and low end the way you would except based on Mesa's reputation. The highs are crisp and cut thru while the lows rumble and are clean at the same time.

Reliability : 10
Their reputation speaks for itself!

Customer Support : 10
I have never had a problem but whenever I have had question they have been prompt to return phone calls as well as emails.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar and bass for 20+ years and am involved in praise & worship music. I have owned Trace Elliot and SWR gear and the the Mesa gear is the best I have ever heard or played! I plan on picking up the Powerhouse 4x10 Boogie cabinet to replace my SWR Goliath.

Bought it in early 2003. Mesa switched speaker manufacturers recently. They used to get speakers from EV. Apparantly, the first batches from the new speaker manufacturer had problems with wiring. I got a 1X15" cabinet from one of the bad batches. Or so I found 20 minutes into my first band practice when my speaker blew. Not that my bass didn't sound good hissing like an electric banjo from the tweeter. It's just that you couldn't hear it over the washing machine.

Sound Quality : 1
I don't play a hissing electric banjo, therefore, the tonal quality of this cabinet did not suit my musical style.

Reliability : 1
The EV version of Mesa bass cabinets sounds great and are supposedly very reliable. Maybe later batches from the new supplier will be more reliable. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in purchasing a Mesa cabinet find out what kind of speaker is in there and test the cabinet out to make sure it isn't one of the new lousy ones.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them. The custom support at Make'n Music, the best guitar store in Chicago, was great. They took my speaker back, no questions asked, and found me a 2X15" cabinet with an EV speaker. They were very apologetic about it.

Overall Rating : 1
Clearly, I didn't like the 1X15, but my Mesa 2X15 with the EV's sounds great. I like the warmer, boomier sound of larger speakers better than the more aggressive tone of 4X10's. The 2X15 is a bit of a load to carry, but it is a lot smaller and lighter than those refrigerator sized Ampeg cabinets.

I've played bass in bands of various kinds since 1988. I currently play a late 70's jazz, a late 60's Vox Hawk, and a late 60's Hoffner. I've had other Fenders, a Gibson V, and an Alembic Series I. I play through a Mesa Boogie 400+. Used to have a Euphonic Audio IAmp 350, and prior to that, a Trace Elliot. The 400+ matched with a 2X15 cab is by far the best sounding amp I've ever owned or played in a music store.

1999 model year, 400W, 8 ohms, attenuator knob for horn, 1/4" ins and outs. Great for low end response, I use it with the 4x10 cab and I have yet to feel anything come close to moving the amount of air that this combo moves. For practice I use this cab alone with my SWR Workingman's 4004 head and it's a pretty good combination in itself. For shows I add the 4x10 to it and there's nothing that can touch it.

Sound Quality : 10
Great low end, completely enhances the lows and mids and adds a whole new element to the sound for those who like to down-tune. Isn't noisy in the least and is plenty loud when used alone.

Reliability : 10
I could trust to use it without a backup...I'd have to 'cause I can't afford it.

Customer Support : 8
Great products shouldn't require customer support, but I've sent them some e-mails and and had responses within 4 days.

Overall Rating : 9
I've played for 7 years now and I own the matching 4x10 and an SWR WM-4004. I play a Fender Jazz 4 string and a fretless Washburn 5 String through this rig and I really love the sound. For me, it doesn't get much better than this.
