Not too much to speak of here: it's two 15 inch speakers in RoadReady casing, with 4 ohm monon and 8 ohm bi-amp options. Incredibly heavy, but it has casters on it. Mine is an older model, so I ordered a caster to replace one that broke, but the new caster from Mesa is biger than the old ones, so it tilts! I'll probably just order three more and call it good. Running at 4 ohms uses both speakers, and running at 8 ohms seperates them, so you could use one head for the bottom speaker, and a different head for the top...pretty versatile for a cab! Please note that the cabinet itself is VERY rugged. I think that this thing could fall off a three story building or get his by a train and still function well.

I use a Fender '75 Reissue Jazz Bass and an older Peavey Mark 3 (150 solid state watts) bought around 1997, and occasionally a Digitech Hot Head distortion pedal (for rock/metal only!). The original speakers sounded great with this setup, though since I got it used I have no idea what they were. I used it for indoor and outdoor gigs, playing anything from rock to worship, reggae to funk, and it held it's tone well. Great lows and mids that you could hear and feel in your sternum! The highs aren't as defined as they would be with a 4x10 cabinet, but in my opinion you get a lot better lows with a 2x15. Tweaking my EQ a bit, I've gotten pretty good slapping tones from the 15's, but not quite as good as Flea doing the Seinfield theme. Just remember that 10 inch speakers will be punchier, 15 inch speakers will rumble more. Getting an extra 2x10 or 4x10 will give you the best of both worlds, just be sure you have enough power to run them with clean tone.

If you're familiar with Mesa/Boogie, you already they are famous for building high quality equiptment. If you aren't, then let me saw that I've used this cab for almost 10 years of playing, and it has never once let me down. My cab has withstood blistering summer heat and frigid winter snows in the back of my truck and still held strong all these years! (please note that speakers themselves can be affected by temperature and humidity. My dad crafted a 1-inch thick cover for my cab to protect the speakers and that worked well whenever it rained and the cab was in the bed of my truck.) The speakers did wear out eventually, due to someone borrowing it and overloading the cab (mismatching the ohms!) After $300 of new speakers it sounded great again, just be sure to check on how you can safely hook up your combo/head to any set of speakers. When in doubt, call the company!

I've contacted Mesa for the new caster as well as consulting them when I bought a Mesa Nomad 100 Head and Recto 2x12 for my guitar set-up, and every time the staff there has been incredibly helpful! If you leave a message, they will call you back. Just remember that they only work Monday through Thursday, so if something happens on the weekend you might just have to be patient and wait. I bought this cab used, so I didn't get a warranty that I know about, but when I bought the Recto 2x12 guitar cab it came with a 5 year parts/labor, 3 year speakers transferable warranty. I would assume that they offer the same on their bass cabs.

I love this cab because it is rugged, sounds great and because it was my first and holds many great memories for me. I've been playing for about 10 years with my J-Bass and Peavey head, and I recently tried to sell it. The day that the buyer was supposed to come over I sat down with it for "one last jam" and after I was done I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. I promptly ran upstairs and deleted my online ads. The only thing that I hate about it is it's weight, because it does weigh at least 150 pounds, so for that I do deduct one point (not a great upper apartment amp!). To go up stairs, try slowly rolling it end-over-end or getting your bandmates, girlfriends, bouncers, whoever to help lift it. I don't really see how it could be stolen very easily, but if it did I would most certainly be devastated. The only thing that would keep me from getting this cabinet again, besides price and availability, is the fact that is it physically demanding to transport. For that reason only I would seriously look at other cabs, mainly a combo of a 4x10 and 1x18. This thing will most likely last for decades, but your back has to last your entire life! No tone is worth physical injury. If you have the means to transport this cabinet, definitly give it a try!

I think it was made in the early 90's. This cab has a colorful history, I live in SEattle and It was on of Ben Shephards from Soundgarden, during the grunge era. The cab was also owned by a good bass player from lesser knowns bands, thats who I bought it from. It works good I play loud surf rock. I use my fingers and a pick.
It can be run mono or stereo. It was the beefiest cab I could find , Ive owned multiple Svt8x10's and about literally a hundred other cabs, this one is special. Handles 800 watts, I use a crest 1100 watt power amp and I could blow it but it is ungodly loud barely pushed. Its is a road case with speakers in it.

I have a reissue '54 p-bass with 1/4 pound jazz bass pickups in it.
I like simplicity, loudness and a non-modern tone.It does this, it's louder 20 feet away than right next to it. I have to watch my settings as I have a tendency to push frequencies that cabinets cannot handle. I use an Intersound IVP preamp, used by phil Lesh and Steve Albini, this motherfucker is the shit but hard to figure out. It hasn't distorted because I have a crest amp that limits clipping to the loudspeakers.

This amp toured with Soundgarden and looks pretty good, I'd say that it would take nothing less than a fire or a bomb to destroy it. I have a paper cone Hartke 2x15", I think Ill leave it at home or sell it.

Don't know, apparently these are well respected in the industry, I would recone a speaker if it blew, no big deal.

Been playing for 21 yrs. I keep it simple and don't keep stuff I don't use, I own other instruments but am primarily a bass player. I would try to find another or kill the motherfucker who stole it. I love it's look, sound and history, It does weigh a ton( about 150lbs.), I took out the wheels and use a hand truck with inflatable wheels to move it, my rack case also weighs about 100lbs, so I try to minimize my lifting. I have owned about every brand of cab that exists, this bad boy is pretty tough.

Not sure what year it was made. but it is very well made. It can cover just about any style you might want to play it can go very deep and also be very bright. It is set up so you can BiAmp it with each 15" speaker driven by its own amp @8ohms or drive both with one amp @4 ohms.

I have used several Basses with this cab. A Fender american Jazz bass 2004 with the s1 switch and stock factory pickups. also a Fender JP-90 with EMG activeJ/P pickups, And a Fender J/p 90 with Seymour Duncan QTR pounder J/P passive bassline pickups. Also use a line6 Bass Pod for effects ect.It suits my style of music fine. I play mostly classic rock and Some early new wave and anything that I feel like attempting. The cab is not noisy in and of itself but can be very loud when driven with enough power. It can do most anything Slap, pop, reggae, rock,Funk and even smooth jazz .

I can't see anyone having a reliability problem with this cab. It could probably get hit by a train and still be useable. If I were to play out I would not even think of bringing a backup cab.

I have only been playing about a year and have not been too rough on this cab. If it were lost or stolen I would definately replace it.
What I love about it is you can get that Big Deep Loud sound without tons of equiptment and it can be sort of mellow too. What do I not like about it It is relatively heavy but that is why it is so sturdy. I compared it to a Hartke 2x15, Peavey 2x15,Ampeg 2x15 and this was the clear winner. The ampeg got lous but not very clean and started to distort way before the mesa.
