Bought my Boogie in Winter of '04. I've played over 25 different cabs from 25 different manufacterers prior to purchasing and this cab can rival them all without question. Very deep and clean response from the lower notes and crisp pristine highs, even at high volumes. I play everything from Jazz to Metal, it handles all styles exceptionally. The brushed metal Grille is awesome, super durable and looks beautiful on the cab, none of this cheap mesh garbage that tears.

Sound Quality : 10
Awesome. I use two basses: A Warwick custom shop corvette standard 4 string, and an Ibanez EDB605 as a back-up, both with active pickups. With both basses having active pickups the Mesa distributes the sound near flawlessly, trust me you can hear your sound even with your two guitar players playing. My guitar players run a Marshall TSL head w/ a 1960A lead cab and a Krank Revolution head w/ another 1960A lead cab. If I can hear my rig through these two amps so can you. You CAN hear the bass through the mix. Sounds fantastic running through a PA or miked too!

Reliability : 10
Ive owned it for 4 years now, played hundreds of times, sometimes 10 minutes others 3 hours, never had a problem. I'd definately use and have used this cab without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to use customer support, although I anticipate they would be very helpful based on friends' comments.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 11 years now, and im only 21 so I hope what knowledge I can provide is helpful. I play through the Warwick custom shop the majority of the time, which runs through a Tech 21 Sans Amp (another great product I recommend to every bass player.) which I then run directly into an SWR 750 head. If it were stolen not only would I buy another immediately but probably harm whoever stole it, it's a great piece of equipment. NOW GO BUY ONE!

This thing has everything you need for any purpose ever.

Sound Quality : 10
Best sound you can get. I use an Ernie Ball Sterling (4) with a Gallien Krueger 700 head, and this thing handles both with the best sound quality I could ask for. Anything I've wanted it to to, it does.

Reliability : 10
The main reason I got a Mesa over the Gallien Krueger is that I'd heard the speakers hold up better, I heard right.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed help with it.

Overall Rating : 10
I have it for a year, and it has put up with everthing I do with my band. So if you have the money, buy this cab.

4 x 10" cast frame speakers in a seriously heavy cabinet. Well constructed, high frequency horn with volume control at rear. 600watt power rating, jack inputs. Nice thick vinyl covering and heavy plastic corners. Good castors too.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a mesa 400+ all valve head with a music man stingray usually or occasionally a fender jazz. Usually playing rock and pop covers from Chili Peppers to U2 etc... about 3-4 times a week.

Reliability : 2
This is my problem. I bought it new for nearly #900 (uk) and it lasted a 2 months before the first speaker went wrong. Uk distributor very helpful and immediately sent me a replacement driver. The next 2 drivers went down within another month and then a third. So more drivers sent and all replaced. Apart from one speaker that blew the coil out of the magnet, the problem was the flexible wires between the speaker terminals and where they went through the cone were constantly breaking. Some appeared to be too short for the speaker movement and some just seemed to wear out. Not impressed with this at all.

Customer Support : 7
Uk distributor was very helpful and did send out new drivers carriage free and very fast. But what if I wasn't able to replace the drivers myself. This is an expensive pro cab, and I play music for a living. There Aren't many 4X10's that cost much more. Lucky I have a spare Trace Elliot cab. After 6 months I asked to return the cab to the dealer who wasn't keen on a refund as I had done about 30-40 gig swith it alrady, but it wasn't doing the job.

Overall Rating : 3
I have been playing for 25 years, pro for last 12 of these. I have had so many different amps I hate to imagine. I bought the MESA BOOGIE 400+ head about two years before and love it, so bought the cab thinking it would be great too. (I had a set-up using a power amp/pre amp and 2 1x15 Mesa cabs 10years ago) .How wrong I was. The sound was pretty good, and certainly better than my Trace Elliot 4x10, but it kept going wrong. I since bought an Ampeg 410HF which to honest while not quite as articulate and punchy, has more low end and sounds 95% as good and cost less than 2/3 of the Mesa Powerhouse 4x10.

2 cabinets purchased, a 4x10 rated for 600 watts at 4 ohms and a 1x15 rated for 400 watts at 4 ohms. Both have tweeters and frequency modifiers and safty switches for them. They both have heavy duty casters that are easily removed or installed, and they both came with heavy duty covers that definitly help protect them from the usual scratches and dings that are bound to happen.

Sound Quality : 10
I am very impressed with the tone i'm getting out of these speakers. They are a huge improvement over my past cabinets. I play a EB Stingray and an old fender and you definitly hear the differences between the basses.

I play a wide range of music, from jazz to progressive rock and even some very heavy types of music. I seem to be able to dial in on every sound i'm looking for. I've recorded already with this combination and i was able to dial in a different tone and texture of sound that fit each song perfectly.

Reliability : 9
Well I've only played 3 gigs with em but I already am very pleased with the purchase. I couldn't be happier.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to call them or otherwise require it.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been a bass player on again off again for 15 years. I've been through some excellent (and not so excellent) equipment in my day, and for the price I feel I've got a very reliable, flexable and "tone full" set of cabinets. I rate only 9 because I've not had them for a long time and I suppose they could break soon, which would disappoint me greatly but also be a testiment to the quality of the stuff. However, I doubt that will happen. I'm very pleased.

I like em so much that my next buy will definitly be the m-pulse 600 watt head. That combo will do all the gigs I need it too.

from the mesa/boogie web site:4x10, 600 Watts, Custom PowerHouse Speakers, High Frequency Driver w/Adjustable Level Control, Tuned & Rear Ported, Trak-Loc Casters, 8 Ohms
My favorite feature of this cab (besides the sound) is the casters. Having broke cheap casters off of other cabs I appreciate that these are ultra heavy duty casters that are detachable when a release button is pushed. They are also extra large which helps to transport the cab. I give it a 9 because it doesn't have speakon inputs. It is rated for 8 ohms although I believe 4 ohm versions are available.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a Yamaha BB5000A through a HARTKE 3500 head and for years have used a Hartke 15 and a SWR 4x8 with tweeter. I am replacing my old 15 inch Hartke speaker which finally blew out due to some loud gigs. This cab has brought new life to my bass. I have been really unhappy with my tone using the Hartke cab. I have always struggled to get the deep low end (I play in a Blues/RB band and use the b-string constanly)yet still get the clarity I need. This cab has amazing punch and bottom end. I compared this directly with Eden, SWR and Genz Benz and the Mesa blew away the competition. The Eden 410 XLT was a very close second, but I found that 16th note runs in the lower reqisters leapt out of the cab with greater clarity than the Eden. The cab produces almost no noise that I can tell, and I can turn the tweeter up to the maximum with little discernable hiss (not possible on my SWR)This amp moves a serious amount of air and can make the room shake when cranked. It easily puts out 2x the volume of my old setup and I no longer need to use the SWR 4x8 unless I feel like boosting the highs a little. My ultimate setup would either be to have another MESA 4x10 or a Mesa 2X10

Reliability : 8
I would absolutely take it to a gig without a backup. I can't imagine that I would blow a speaker on this baby with my Hartke 3500. I would need a more powerful amp. It is as solidly built as a tank, outside of falling off my truck while going 70 it seems pretty indestructable. The grill is metal, but the sides and top are capable oof being damaged, and there was a some scuff marks when I bought it from the guitar store guys having put a rack on it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
comes with a 5 year warranty, 3 years for the speakers. I haven't had the cab long enough to need this yet and hopefully never will.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 12 years and play a great many styles. I like a very deep, punchy aggressive tone (think Flea) and this cab really delivers that tone. I love its clarity, power and focused tone. It can go louder than I can handle in a small room, I haven't had it out on a gig yet to field test it, but I know it will deliver! I would definely replace it if it were lost or stolen. I have never been so happy with my sound. All the members of my band noticed a dramatic improvement in my tone over the Hartke/SWR combo I was using. I tested this against an Eden 410xlt and a SWR goliath III. The goliath seemed thin and nasally to me, and the Eden was good, but lacked the clarity. I also tried a genz benz 410xb2 and that was good but not as powerful or punchy. The Eden and Genz are front ported and that seems to make a difference in the low end clarity. Maybe you get a little more bottom end thump, but you lose clarity and focus and that is top priority for me! The only thing I wish I had was a m-pulse 600 or Genz Benz GBE 600 and a Modulus quantum 5 to complete my ultimate dream rig!

I bought 2 of these recently, one is a late 80's vintage, the other a mid 90's. Both are rated 600 watts @ 8 ohms, have switchable tweeter attenuators and casters. Vinyl covering with black steel grill seems reasonably tough.

Sound Quality : 10
I discovered the "Mesa Sound" after struggling to keep up between 2 Marshalls with my Eden 210 metro combo (and various extension cabs in an experiment to get "that tone" I was looking for). I read about Mesa, plugged in to a Basis 2000 with both a 2 X 15 and a 6 X 10 cab running out of it. It was like a revelation. I knew instantly that this was the answer to my tone quest! After nearly breaking my back hauling those monster cabs around to a few gigs with my hobby band I decided to downsize to 4 x 10 cabs. Guess what? Same KILLER Mesa tone. Tighter response for small venue gigs, and plenty of thunder to defend against the ominous attacks from the Marshalls. And light enough for a middle aged rocker to handle. If you overload these I guess they can be distorted. However, I can literally knock the pictures off the walls in my house with these cabs before I hear any distortion.

Reliability : 10
NO reliabilty problems thus far. Although the road case style is nearly bulletproof I have no reason to doubt that these cabs are as durable as any other brand out there.

Customer Support : 8
I found customer support to be difficult to talk to at times (sometimes they were busy and I had to wait for a call back-which is difficult when you work at a day job like mine). But, somebody always called back and we were able to leave each other enough info through voice messages to get some replacement parts ordered and shipped. The guy I finally talked to was knowlegable and had a friendly style.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been a bass player for about 8 years and have been playing in a hobby band for about 3 years. I had quit playing and picked the bass back up again a few years ago. This band plays classic rock and R & B, Blues, Country and even metal and fusion styles. I decided to "buy the best" equipment I could and a teacher/master suggested I try Eden equipment. I bought a 210 Metro combo and later tried this in tandem with a 4 X 10, then a 15. The guitar players complimented my clean sound on the songs with a lighter character, but when it came to heavier rock, or just louder volume the comments that my sound was "flabby" came my way more than once. The Eden series is a fine product, and maybe I was asking too much from an amp with overrated horsepower, but when I heard the Mesa, through ANY combination of cabs, I knew it was the sound I wanted to make. If/when I lose or destroy one of these cabs I will seek another.

Very cool cab with the sexy adjustable tweeter in the back. I turn the tweeter off because i use this cab for low end on my rig.

Sound Quality : 10
I am running this rig as low end with my biamp GK 800rb and using an SWR 4x10T cab for high end. That's a pretty freakin good head...but I was using it with JUST the SWR and i wasn't getting enough low end. I heard that the mesas have good punch so i bought one and now it's hard to stand up while playing becase the mesa just pushes you over. let me say this...it knocks picture frames off my shelves.

Reliability : 10
I bought it used...o...about a week ago...reliability hasn't been much of a problem...but it survived a 15 mniute drive on a freeway in the back of my jeep...

Customer Support : 10
not really tried...but if the customer support is as good as it's amp then i am satisfied.

Overall Rating : 10
i bought the cab for 300 bucks and so far it has been my little puncher down there at the bottom of my rig. (did i mention that it was custom built in purple vinyl (SEXY TO THE MAX!!!!) Do you love it? I love it...it's a mesa. CHECK OUT MY BAND'S WEBSITE!!!!! http://gardengrove.boutmuet.com

the cab is easy to hook extensions and you can chaange the volume on the back of the cab from -2db to +2db and not very many other cabs have that feature.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab has the best sound ever ,I use a 1984 american fender P-bass with it through an ampeg B2 head, the amp handles lows well because of the unique shape of the bass speakers, the center is larger so it gets more bass, and it also handles highs well because I do a lot of slap and it sounds better than any other cab i've ever played through. the sound rocks my nuts off.

Reliability : 10
I have never had a problem with it so to me that is reliable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
i havent called for customer support ever.

Overall Rating : 10
This bass cab beats the crap out of the ampeg bass cab, and it kicks it in the face. the sound quality is better than any ampeg cab, or heartke cab i have ever played through, im not trying to dis on ampeg cause i use an ampeg head and its sweet but the mesa is better overall.

1999 model with the older grille, 600 watts, att. knob for horn, 4x10's, everything it should have.

Sound Quality : 9
Well, I just traded in my new Mesa 4x10 for this cuz it was $215 cheaper at my local store. I can already tell that the low-end isn't as good as the newer cab but it's a sacrifice I was willing to make for $215. Great overall sound though, pretty good low end, a lot of mids, and a lot of highs.

Reliability : 10
This beast is pretty sturdy and covered in a nice leather (fake maybe?) covering so I'd say it's pretty reliable. As with all speakers, don't overload it and it will hold out fine.

Customer Support : 7
If you live near the Mesa Plant then you shouldn't have any complaints, but they didn't have all the important information I wanted to know listed so instead, they make you call they're place whether it's long-distance or not (I'd prefer not to spend the extra $30 making that call). But, e-mail responses were pretty timely and I've heard some good things about them.

Overall Rating : 9
I wish I could have afforded to keep the new model but I have bills to pay. That's my only gripe, the price. Even this was expensive but it's worth it to me. Holds down the low-end better than any Ampeg I've ever come across and it's last year's model.

4X10" drivers, horn with level attenuator, 1/4" in and out, 600 Watts, wheels, handles, pretty much what I expected to get for shelling out my life savings (I'm poor...lol).

Sound Quality : 10
Ooohhhh this has the sweetest tone of any cabinet on this planet. It handles everything. My old speakers would just flop in and out when I'd tune down to a LOW G and F. This cabinet is awesome! Loud as F**K!!!! It's kind of noisy when you turn up the horn level but just leave it down and there's no problems at all. I love the fact that it's 8 ohms too instead of 4 so I can add another cabinet onto my rig. Some companies think that all of the new equipment can handle a 2 ohm load and not overheat so they make everything 4 ohms instead of having a variety. NOT COOL! In my opinion, Mesa/Boogie makes the best everything, hands down. Only complaint however is this mother is heavy!

Reliability : 10
Bought it, drove to practice, took it out of the box, hooked it up and turned up the volume and man did it shake the house! This thing is built to last.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Well...I'm not real sure but I don't think I'll ever need them unless I buy a more powerful amp than my SWR 400 Watt-er and blow a few speakers.

Overall Rating : 10
DAMN FINE PIECE OF GEAR! I'd buy two of these if I could afford it! I have another 15" cab that needs some re-vamping but I bet I'll have the police on my neighbors speed-dial in no time! These cabs are expensive and heavy but I wouldn't trade them for anything. It will take 12 people to steal this thing from me, 2 to carry it and 10 to keep me from killing everybody!
