Great features, two separate channels for various applications. Good overdrive, and very good styling.

I have been mainly using a Fernandez Retrospect Deluxe 4-string with 5-string gauge bass strings on it. I also use a 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 With a traditional setup. Both sound fantastic through this head. This head has an amazing range of tones to choose from, but a little bit of research might be necessary to find the one you're looking for.

If you've got an early model of this Head chances are the DI section of the board is faulty, if not now, then it likely will be sooner or later. I had to have my very early model sent in and fixed, and I was at the studio recording when it failed. So just be wary of the very early models. The Boogie technician that I spoke to let me know that alot of the early models either had the wrong DI unit installed or they were just not up to par.
This head does tend to overheat in hot climates, causing popping and complete sound failure, VERY rarely. I would suggest possibly getting a rack fan, but I had the same problem with my Ampeg, so maybe its just me.

Customer support with Mesa Boogie is, as always, fantastic. Quick and painless.

I've been playing for close to 10 years now, and play Progressive Metal.
The closest Item I would compare this head to is the Ampeg SVT-4 Pro, simply because at the time it was the best ampeg I could get a hold of, and when my ampeg failed, I went straight to my Titan V12. I've never looked back since.

This is Mesa Boogie's new flagship bass amp head. For features please check Mesa's official site. There are a quite a few. Yet this thing is a pleasure to operate. Everything I need is here really. From clean to distorted sounds.I bought the Big Block for larger scale gigs.

I mainly play a Fender 5-string custom (with dual-coil Samarium cobalt jazz pups)or a Stu Hamm signature through this. The V12 sounds good with every bass I have plugged in. With the two basses mentioned above the sound is very lively and nicely warm. I play in a hardrock band and the sounds I get out are just perfect for me!

I have owned this amp only for about a month so I can't really comment on this. I have only done one festival gig with this.

I have no experience with Mesa's customer support. I trust (hope) that there will be no need for me to get in touch with them.

I have played the bass for 13 years. Two Ampeg's (SVT-2 Pro, BA500)and one Laney (RB9)bass amps are currently in my posession. As of now, this is my main weapon when it comes to larger venues. For that purpose the Big Block V12 is in unbeatable. I can get just the right sounds out of this beast. It has all the features I could ask for (and many more). Pricey, but what can you expect. For a professional musician searching for serious power. Go and try one out for yourself! I might even consider buying the smaller Block as I am getting fond of Mesa's tones!
