After one searching I finally found the amp that was the stuff for me. I sold my Bassforce XXL and the HK BR115 CAb and began testing many brands. I tested Peavey, SWR, Ampeg, Hartke, Eden,... and I ended up buying the Mesa Boogie 2x15 Deep Powerhouse. This amp was made in 2002 if I'm correct and it's a wonderfull piece of equipement. It produces 800 Watts and that's a lot of power coming from one cab. The 2 15 inch speakers produce a real fat and powerfull sound and it's cuts like a knife. I use an Ashdown ABM EVO 5OO RC head and that's a really great combination. I have plenty of headroom and... well... let's just say: I got the rig of my dreams!

I play bass for 6 years now and play in a Death Metalband. I play finger style to keep up with the speed and the complexity of the music and this amp handles everything very well. I have a Yamaha TRB 1005L (Yep, lefthanded!) and the sound is really good. It's huge, fat, but not dominating. Together with the drummer I can create some great unity and foundation. Our guitar player uses a Marshall cab with a JCM 2000 and that amp can get really LOUD! But with my rig, I can handle it very well. I hear myself playing and my bandmembers hear me play. With my previous rig that was out of the question.

I love my rig. Period! After a lot of money saving and searching I got what I always wanted: a bassrig that sounded great, looks cool (the amp looks impressive and brutal), and is just the stuff! You don't need to get any more cabs cause the 2x15 can handle everything on it's own. Even my C string sounds excellent! One complaint: this cab is relatively big (comes to my hips) and it weighs about 100 pounds. It was a hell of a job to carry this cab on the stairs to our rehearsel space but it was worth it!
