Any sound you want to get you can! mine is almost flat but I use a Line 6 Bass Pod Live for some effects only (now). My 2 Jazz basses sound great on their own through this little wonder, my Ibanez SR500 sounds a million times better though this amp also.

Have only had it since Jan./2009 but play it every day, recorded with it 5 times, no problems.

Called them myself to ask question regarding using the line out level( I thought it was really high setting for just using the head into a Firepod) called me back with all info I needed.

Love It! None Shall Compare! Mesa make great bass amps. I Played them all (trust me!) Ampeg SVT, Mark Bass( I did Like Mark Bass), Ashdown, Peavey, G&K, Traynor, Fender.
I just kept going back to this little machine.
