This is one of the most massive sounding and versatile cabs I've ever played through. The 4 10s give a ton of punch and quick response and the single 15" really fills in the low end. I played a 5 string jazz bass, with a Genz Benz GBE 1200 head and used a Tech 21 Sans amp and an Aphex Punch Factory optical compressor pedal with this cab and received regular complements from other bass players that my tone was the best they had heard.

Mesa knows their stuff. This is definitely one of the best sounding, and most versatile cabs out there. I've played ampeg, ashdown, trace elliot and orange but this is definitely my favorite.

even though this cab is made very well. ive owned it for a year and a half and the 15" woofer has gone out three times. each time they cant tell me what went wrong and im not convinced it is user error. im very causious when playing it and cant seem to avoid it. i dont not recommend this cabinet

Made in 2006, I was looking for an all in one cabinet. I still use a biamp set up with a single 18 and either 10's or 15's for the highs. You can't beat the lows from a dedicated subwoofer like a high quality 18 inch. But nothing beats the simplicity and manliness of a single big bass cabinet. There's this player control network that boogie tends to be marketing hard, but honestly, I don't mess with it too much, and it's fairly transparent when I turn the horn dial or switch the different crossover points. This is a heavy cab, and it is best for rock and blues, but not bad for other styles.

This is a very loud rock bass cabinet. It barks like no other bass cabinet out there. I bought two cabs before settling on this one. An ampeg svt 8X10 and the other was an aguilar gs412. That cab was very high fi sounding with more plush lows. the boogie is just more in your face with a lot more midrange bark. It cuts much better, and as such it is well suited for rock. Not the best funk tone, but damn good enough for my purposes.
I use this cab full range fed by a crest ca 6 and a demeter vtbp-201 pre and a music man sterling 4 string. An ebs pedal compressor also is in the loop. The coupling of all 5 speakers with the horn makes for a gut rattling strong fundamental with very clear mids and adequate highs. This gives me all the punch and oomph I used to feel during the old days when behemoth cabs were the norm. My drummer and lead guitarist say they can feel my rig as much as hear it. That's when I knew this was really a special cabinet. It is the best all in one bass enclosure out there. I've tried several other ones like Schroeder, aguilar, ampeg, swr, eden. Forget 'em. If you don't want to take any chances, this thing is a beast that cannot be ignored on stage. It really sounds awsome.

I'm not too keen on the "rhino" vinyl cover that boogie uses. I find they can scratch and scuff much easier than the felt lined cabs like eden and swr. As for the speakers, they seem very happy to be pushed hard by my crest/demeter/music man set up. the new speaker grills are actually growing on me, and they are very high quality metal, not nearly as likely to bend like the other major brands out there. I've only owned it for about 2 months so I'm not the best authority.

I thought I blew the horn the other day (but it was just a bad cab le), and I left a message on the answering machine at boogie. I got a call a couple days later stating they were ready to repair, replace, and service the cab at my discretion. Very impressive to me at least.

This is a very serious and manly cabinet. It looks powerful on stage. The Mesa logo makes me feel like saying "yeah right, this is the sh*t." It is an expensive cabinet, but I've learned the hard way, you get what you pay for. It is a heavy cabinet, but in my mind not as bad as an SVT 8X10. If you want to sound like the big boys, the laws of physics can't be broken when it comes to bass. You need to move a lot of air, and that takes a lot of speakers and large cabinets. This is not an area to try and get cute with techno overkill. In the end, when you're driving the band, and things are getting wilder and louder, you'll be glad you have something that can take the punishment you dish out in your moment of fury.
