Great lightweight all-purpose amp that I've used on gigs from intimate upright to 9 piece r&b (as a stage monitor).

What is it missing? A mute switch for one, as well as a tuner output.

The DI xlr output does not have a ground loop.

Other than that, it wants for nothing, in my opinion.

Sound Quality : 9
There are a wide range of sounds that can be pulled from the stout little Scout, and I have quit using an eq from my bass to the amp (I used it with my upright and my Eden amp, as it sound naselly - I can now dial it out).

Reliability : 10
I have had absolutely no problems with the amp, and have been using it regularly for a year.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have had no problems, so customer support has not been an issue.

Overall Rating : 9
A few minor changes would make this great amp even better. But I can't imagine a better smal size-big sound combo on the market.

Huzzah Mesa!!!

2006, 300w, 50lbs, 1x12 mesa neo speaker single channel w/tube preamp, mid bass treb, 3 band parametric eq. it has this wonderful 'passive bass resonator' and im not much for tec lingo (aka a secret language for people who can't really actually play), iwould concede that it makes your bass sound as fat as a 3rd shift waffle house waitress. without any of the odor, of course.

Sound Quality : 10
i use a warwick steamer stage II primarily, and i try go get a broad spectrum of tones. im a huge tube-preamp fan, as it adds that little extra warmth and evens out the sound. im going for that oteil/pino/incubus morning veiw tone that is actually 3 unrelated tones that i have evoked uniquely here in the muggy airspace of NE alabama. it can get some nice slap sparkle, and surprisingly enough, a lot of the tubbyness of an early 60's B-15 i used to have. if you have a hot-gain bass you can get some nice natural overdrive out of the 2 12ax7's it has. i really must give it a 10 for tone, b/c tone ALONE actually sold this amp; i really hadn't considered mesa until i plugged in. also, this thing is loud as hell!

Reliability : No Opinion
from my research, it looks like mesa's stuff is very ruggedly built. i've used this amp for persona/band practice for about a month, and no problems yet. i've also left it in my 100 degree car a few times, and it runs fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
not needed any, as of yet1
