This is a basic cab as far as there are no setting but you can bi-amp other then that it's plug and play

The sound is pretty good, it can push out a lot of sound with no problem, I'm using a Hartke 3500a If I turn up all the way still no distortion. I do no love the low end of the black widows it's not warm enough to me, but I'm a keyboard player not a bass player. I run bas from my keyboard through this 1516 and a Behringer ba210, I like the low end on the Behringer

US Made probably early 90's vintage. 2x8 and 1-15 Black Widow drivers, can be used with the built-in crosover or bi-amped if you have a stereo power amp and an electronic crosover. No switches, just plug into a different set of jacks.
Loud and solid with the right amp or power amp- I recomend 400+ watts into this puppy for extra headroom.

Check out the Johnson J-station pre-amp- They offer an EMULATION OF THIS CAB, along with an ampeg 8x10, etc. Somebody thinks this thing rocks!
I'm using this with an Ampeg SVP pre, Audio Centron 400 w amp. I play a US made TBC (The Bass Company), Music Man Sabre style 5-string and a Cort Curbow5 through this cab.
I play anything from church music (contemporary and traditional) to detuned alterna-rock. the cab can take it all. I even use the same rig for guitar sometimes. Wow! Play a droped D tuned riff through this puppy and watch small animals run in TERROR! I give it an 8 because although flexible it's no Agular or (insert name of other high end cab here), but I got it for 200 bucks, not 5 times more.

It's a Peavey. Hard to kill, even if you want to!
I'm not lugging a second cab around, so I use it without a backup, (except a Behringer direct box with a 4x12 emulator built in)

I'm 42 and have been a bass player since high school-do the math he he! I got this cab in order to downsize my rig. I had always been a 2x15 guy before, but I tested it against other cabs I liked and it came out at least equal if not better than those. I needed to fit my rig into a non-hatchback Celica so this was the one...
If lost or stolen I would replace it if I could find another one.
Likes: sound, relatively compact size. Dislikes: I wish it weighed like it was made of balsa wood and could shake the ground when driven with a 10 watt amp while still beeing able to handle full output from a 1400 watt amp, but it is what it is.
For the price vs. flexibility and sound, I'll give it a 10.

A bass guitar cabinet with one 15"BW driver and two eight inch drivers. This is the lowdown on these cabinets.I have had four of these cabinets at one time.Sold two of them because I just didn't need that much rig.I used to run them with two CS-800's in a rack config. Now I run two cabinets with a Nitrobass head. These cabinets are only rated at 200 watts RMS.I have had these cabinets since 1996.I have been playing bass for 24 years+, and used nothing but Peavey. You can,t expect to get 100+ db out of one cabinet, without it (farting).Especially if it is under powered.Rule of thumb, double the RMS wattage of your amp to the wattage of the cabinet.Example,if your cabinet is 100 watts RMS, you want to at least get a 200 watt amp to go with that.

I read the the previous review. He must of gotten a hold of a lemon.I have had nothing but good luck with these cabinets.Remember you can't expect one cabinet rated at 200 watts RMS to part your hair.If you want to do that, get a 810 SVT or some other high wattage cabinet.

Farty. Period. Just plan farty. If you dig farty, then this is your cab. It could not handle even a 100 watt amp at low volume. Fart away!

I Totally gutted this cab, ripped out the speakers, the acuostic packing, peeled off the tolex, and tore off the Peavey Logo and started ALL OVER! I put in a BRAND NEW Eminence Kilomax 1000 watt RMS 15 inch speaker in it and replaced the two 8 inch speakers with Carvin 200 watt speakers, Repacked it acuosticly and put new fake leather on the outside of the cab and added wheels to the dumb thing. NOW, NOW it sounds GOOD. I think removing the Peavey Logo did the trick.
