This cabinet was built around 1980, and is one of the best amps I have owned. I play mostly Rock and Metal, and this covers everything I need out of it. It is Bi-ampable, you can run either the 2-10s or the 18 seperatley if you wanted to.

Sound Quality : 9
I am using a Peavey Millenium AC BXP bass with active pickups, and it sounds superb. It does have a little background noise, but that is probably from my amp head, but once you strike a note it all goes away,or it is drowned out but does it really matter? The cab can cover all styles of music, it has low end like no other, so be careful.

Reliability : 10
This thing could be propped out of a 2 story building and it would crush the sidewalk, and maybe tear the tolex. It is a BEAST. its slid down the stairs a few times (oops...) and not a single problem with it. It has never broken down, and i dont expect it to.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No need to deal with them, but im sure they are great.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for about 6 years, and have traveled through a lot of equipment. I own a Peavey Millenium 4 string AC BXP bass, a Peavey Mark III Series head and this cabinet. I love Peavey. :D
If this was stolen I would cry and laugh. This is the most awesome cab ever, and Im not sure i could live without it(therefore the crying). But I would have to laugh at the person who stole it because this thing weighs a ton, and hauling it is no one man job(therefore the laughing). I love this to death, the only downside is the weight, but i guess its a good thing because it wont get stolen :D

This cabinet features (1) 18" Subwoofer and (2) 10" speakers. It was made by Peavey in the mid to late 80s and weighs around 120 lbs and measures roughly 20"x25"x40". It does, however, have 4 casters on the bottom and a recessed handle on each side to make transportation much easier. The cab is only rated at 200 Watts continuous RMS, but has a Peavey published 800 Watts Peak capacity...in reality it can easily take 400W Continuous (which Peavey refers to as 400 Program RMS).
The cabinet is bi-ampable...meaning it can be powered by one amp or two amps, and the 18" subwoofer can be run seperately from the (2) 10" speakers, and the (2) 10" can be run without the 18" if needed. I don't know why you would lug this around if you only wanted to use the (2) 10" though!
Due to it having two small drivers and one large driver, it can accommodate many styles of music, from garage rock to jazz. It may not be the best cab for one specific sound, but it is adequate for all types of music. Its a cabinet...has as many features as a stand-alone cab of its size should have...giving it an 8 only because its so big and heavy!

I use Fender-stle Jazz basses (single coil Jazz pickups) and power this cab with a Peavey Classic 400 All-Tube Bass Head. With proper power (in this case about 350 Watts from the amp), this cabinet is loud, yet articulate. The cabinet produces strong bass which is likely an effect of its size and weight. Again, some might find this cab not "clean" or "hi-fi" enough for bassists who solo high up on the fretboard or who play speed metal or music requiring extremely high definition of the bass notes.

Reliability : 10
This cab was bought used. It still looked great for a 20 year old cabinet and it never broke down on the previous owner (who had it for a very long time). Again, it is heavy and has that 1980s Peavey nubby Tolex covering that is very strong and tear resistant. Not much to go wrong; only 3 speakers, some wires, and a crossover. You could drop this down a flight of stairs and nothing would happen...maybe the stairs would break!

Even though this cabinet is decades beyond warranty, the customer service at Peavey is great and they will always help you to find specifications/manuals/instructions/accessories. What a really good company.

I have been playing for a few years and have other Peavey bass cabinets, and have played through Ampegs, GKs, Fenders...and for the money (on the used market of bass cabs such as this one) Peavey is a really good value.
If this cab were stolen, I would feel sorry for the person who has to move it cause it really is as big as an 8x10 cab and heavier than most (all Peavey stuff from this era is much heavier than it needed to be)! I would try to replace it (they are hard to find in nice condition) or pick up a new Peavey setup since their products are a good value even today.
I dislike the fact that this cab is soooooo heavy..but I knew all about that when I bought it, so no surprises here.
I love the fact that this cab is pretty much the biggest cab ever (except the 3620 cabinet) and it looks monstrous on stage and really grabs attention.
I chose this cab because it was the only cabinet I could find with an 18" along with other smaller speakers for clarity.
